Heed these two simple warnings. It will help make our GD a better place. Consider this fair notice to all users. Warning will be dished out this patch. Thanks. Neo, 31.01.12 |
Also, if a woman wants to be a tank she has to be riding a giant pig, OR they have to make a big deal about it and say "hey look guys we made a female tank!!" When was the last time that riot said "finally we made a male [anything]"? How weird would it sound? in all fairness, leona comes to mind when talking about a female tank. she just ended up playing as a support because it was how she fit in

Calling bottom lane "the kitchen" is not misogynistic because the characters with more passive abilities in the game are almost all women. That's why people call it such a passive lane. It is shitty that it fits so well but it's not our fault, it's riot's. i was so happy when graves got released! finally a male AD (corki doesn't count). You definitely belong in a museum. \ some people think that ezreal doesn't count

ezreal is the only other one and he's an androgynous anime boy.
edit: leona is who i'm talking about. they said over and over "look guys a female tank!! holy shit!!" in the champ spotlight and release notes

Well, intuitive aesthetics is desirable in game design, and if you want to portray a character who looks like they can take a lot of physical punishment (generally required by tanks), then biologically speaking, you're better off with a male humanoid (you can also go with female arachnoid, easy out there Riot )

Well a lot of people were asking for female tanks and armored bears for a long time (and surprise party Fiddle), so you can go ahead and blame capitalism instead of sexism.
Also, v8 TakashiX (one my my roommates) started streaming (with webcam) if anyone's interested in that sort of thing http://solomid.net//livestream.php?s=483

Yordles, extra-dimensional monstrosities and magical beings are far far far over-represented.

Nasus is probably black, right? Ryze is purple, which is *close* to black...

Leona's so underrated. If you build her right shes a decent solo top offtank. Pretty good dmg, fairly tanky, and massive cc. Just watch Shurelya play: shes far from pro, and her opinion may be slightly wrong, but she still has a point that Leona is seriously underused.

the problem with solo top leona, aside from any concerns about how to play her in a match up, is that she doesnt scale with farm. whats the point of giving her almost 1/3rd of your teams possibly gold if she comes away from it being the same usefulness as if she had been supporting with gp10

Just watch Shurelya play: shes far from pro, and her opinion may be slightly wrong, but she still has a point that Leona is seriously underused. There's basically no matchup that's favorable for her. GP, Panth, Trynd, Riven, Kennen, Ryze, Udyr, Yorick, Vlad, Rumble basically rape her six ways from Sunday, Nasus and WW should have an easy time farming to outscale her a LOT late game. There's no place for her top lane. And even if she had favorable matchups, I'd rather have every single of those champs I named get the farm she'd get top lane and put her bot as a support that basically does everything top lane Leona does minus a minor damage loss.
Also: Pantheon #1 black man. Dunking on people lies within his roots.

Why can't they make an afro-american char ? There are more and more of them in heroic fantasy settings (Final Fantasy, Tales of, ...), but not in LoL. LoL characters are nearly all European-looking, if they're human.
