1. If a champion is just released and everybody is posting on the forum on how op it is, chances are it is op. You don't even have to read on the champion's kit or numbers. 2. Renekton bot 3. You occasionally get threads that makes everything else worth it, although those threads get linked to reddit anyway. 4. Reading the reaction when people make plays on tournament matches/streamers doing stupid stuff like Hotshot building a couch. the first is never true. bads just dont know how to adapt so you get "OMG OP QQQQQQ" threads all the time. Volibear, Fizz, ect. In fact, the forum crying something is UP is generally a better indicator of something being op- irelia, yorick, lee sin, shyvana, ryze, ect.
to be fair lee sin did suck pretty bad when he was released, and I don't agree at all with the assertion I've seen you make that release yorick was good. Look at these buffs in the next patch, holy shit:
+ Show Spoiler +Omen of Pestilence Increased the cast range by 50
Improved the consistency of the AoE slow by increasing the radius and rate of application. Mana cost reduced to 40/45/50/55//60 from 50/55/60/65/70
Omen of Famine Mana cost reduced to 55/60/65/70/75 from 60/65/70/75/80
Removed the health decay on the Revenant and Reanimated pets
Unholy Symbiosis Yorick now takes 5% reduced damage for each summon that is active. Increased the Attack Damage and Health of ghouls to 35% from 30% of Yorick's Attack Damage and Health
Ghouls Ghouls are now immune to slows. Ghouls take 50% reduced damage from AoE abilities
General Mana per level increased to 35 from 30 Health per level increased to 85 from 80 Armor per level increased to 3.6 from 3 Base Movement speed increased to 320 from 315 Slightly increased his base Attack Speed
They like tripled his power in that patch. Seriously these changes are just ridiculous. Before he'd go oom all the time and he was kinda squishy and he couldn't really chase anyone.

So, I knew the SC2 UI was bad, but it seems like I was lucky enough to get pulled off by LoL before I could really grasp how horrible it actually is. Edit: There, happy?
This is old, but I have to say that the actual Layout of the client's UI is fantastic, because you can get to (and see everything) really easily, with the new champion pages being particularly good. I never realized how good the UI is, but it's so flexible that it really winds up looking great.
|
I see room for improvement in the layout (for example the fact the game has three different settings menus none of which are accessible at the same time, it's not sufficiently obvious you can rename pages, etc), but it is organizing a LOT of information in an effective way.
What really blew my mind is the dota 2 ui though, I've never, ever played a game with such a good client. Once you get in game you kind of bump up against wc3 but the client is... perfect.

Ever notice how these champions are supposed to be awesome fighters but yet only have four abilities for use?
The only change would be that you'd be giving up half-dressed girls for furry creatures.

However there's some problems like balance(if they try to follow lore) and repeated skills and so on.

After going down from 1500 to 1150, I finally got back up to 1500. I will never play nocturne again, either he is bad, or I just can't play him.
|
He's okay, but I wouldn't pick him blindly. He's generally better off going in after a tank can initiate and needs something soft he can jump on.

I jokingly said to shut up or I would smite him. He replied his reasoning again and said to go ahead and smite him. I replied, I couldn't because it said that smite didn't work on pokemon. He said something else and I replied that all I heard was "kenkennenken kennen." XD
I think I was trying to argue that kennen didn't need blue.

I think the evolution thing could be awesome in a game like league. Pick Magicarp and be completely useless in lane, hit level 11, evolve into Gyrados and just rip shit apart.
|
Really? Is this conversation really happening?
Maybe I feel disjointed from all the Pokemon references everywhere 'cause I'm so damn old and the only one I played was Blue/Red.

Has anyone else noticed that the player skill level drops on weekends? Like... elo is the same, but player skill seems to drop, like 1400 games feel like 1100 games. It's like there's a separate player base that only plays on weekends. Really weird.

Yup, it's like most people have some sort of "school" or "work" commitments on weekdays. One can only wonder what those weird things are.

I just lost 120 elo this weekend so there might be something to it.......

Although thats nonsense anyway. Guess people will never understand how elo works.

Well, 1700 during the day and 1700 at peak korean time mean 2 VERY different things...

I havé my own theory on losing and winning elo : either you carry or it's just random. I see no real difference between 1000 elo and 1500 elo. Okay, most of the 1500 elo can cs better, but, just like 1000 elo players, they just don't know how and when to engage. People are still engaging fights left and right for no reason even if they must go in the opponent team's jungle to do so, and even if they have no vision of the ennemy team.
