I disagree, those attack speed buffs are actually pretty huge to his jangling. I mean, they more than doubled his attack speed scaling and couple that with base AS buff (which subsequently buffs the effects of all % modifiers, of which he has a really good one in blood boild) and we're talking about a very sizeable buff in his auto attacking damage.

In most games I see him duoing bot where base AS doesn't mean jack.

Apparently I've missed the ENORMOUS buffs to Galio and Morg since I took a break from the game for like a month and a half but honestly I think it's still custom strategies and metagame changes more than changes to individual champions.

Eh, still means something, though admittedly not as much. Kinda weird to me still that someone who's impossible to run from and really hard to make damage stick to took so long to because a common pick @ bot lane.

The nunu buff only affects jungling nunu. He's not an AoE clearer, so buffing his AS is a good buff. He's still not that great in the new jungle though because counterjungling just isn't as strong. :/

Support nunu is still the same. But really, support nunu is "better" now simply b/c of how nerfed jungle nunu's been due to jungle changes. And nunu has always just been really good at controlling a teamfight with his AS/MS buff + slows so if you really want that for your team, you pick him. He's always been a support-type jungler lategame anyway. He doesn't need that much farm to be relevant.

I think it has more to do with other champions getting nerfed. We wouldn't be seeing nunu support bottom if the healing supports hadn't been axed so hard. A lot of veigar's issues were having horrible lane matchups in middle, but clearly that isn't the case since Jacky and Scarra have been having a lot of success playing him.

I think Morgana and Galio will always be strong because their ultimates are just so game changing. You just have to be able to flash ultimate at the perfect moment to get that win for your team.

He always made sense as a support. Jungle always sucked late game with nunu because you ended up with a team with 2 supports. Run him bottom, you get an actual useful jungle (especially since nunu ganks are no longer the be all and end all of ganks) and you still get late game support nunu.

I don't remember the Galio buffs, but Morg ones were mostly about mana costs, a bit of ms, and her stun duration made flat instead of scaling. Her biggest buff was the reduction of her leash from 3s to 2s, but I'd say that's the only significant thing (passive and shield nerf aren't that noticeable, costs buff allow more harass, that's about all apart from the ult).

+ Show Spoiler +

V1.0.0.123:

Updated Morgana's autoattack to feel more responsive and increased its missile speed.
Movement speed increased to 310 from 300.
Dark Binding: cooldown reduced to 11 seconds from 12 seconds.
Tormented Soil: mana cost reduced to 70/85/100/115/130 from 70/90/110/130/150.
Soul Shackles:
Time prior to stun reduced to 3 seconds from 4 seconds.
Stun duration adjusted to 1.5 at all ranks from 1/1.5/2.
Cooldown reduced to 120/110/100 seconds from 120 seconds at all ranks.

V1.0.0.120:

Black Shield: shield strength changed to 95/160/225/290/355 from 100/150/200/250/300.

So they basically buffed everything. Individually they're small things, but when they make small improvements to basically every aspect of her kit, you can't say that it's not significant.

EDIT: Galio buffs, for those who care:

I doubt that's the reason. Scarra used to play Katarina a lot and he said he expected to flat out lose his lane a majority of the time. Veigar by himself has a ton of bad lanes, a lot of which are still viable picks. I think reasons they picked him up are that a) he has a lot of an easier time farming his Q without completely losing his ability to trade due to the mana buffs, b) he can follow up ganks so easily c) he is reaaaaaaaaally good against ''press R and run at people'' comps. Yeah, laning against Morg is not the prettiest thing to do, but the ability to basically drop either of their possible 2 APs in a teamfight is huge.
currently rooting for myself.

Veigar got some really good buffs a few patches ago. As did many other champions. But it is also true that there are some very powerful champions that just don't get picked.

I think part of this is due to the "meta" in the sense some champions only work when other people think in certain ways. It's sort of like in Magic the Gathering where some decks will be very good, but only when other people play certain deck types. I guess you could think of it like Rock-Paper-Scissors. Let's say Rock gets buffs but still loses to Paper. More people drift towards Rock and Scissor becomes harder to play in the meta and we get more Rock v Rock games. Paper is now more attractive because there's less Scissor around to mess you up.

Sort of. It's a big oversimplification.

How important is a fully specced out rune page to playing? Since I'm planning to play ranked and try to actually get good, should I first play normals until I've bought 2-3 full rune pages before attempting to go ranked?

Significantly important in jungle especially if you don't rely on teammates to provide a good pull. Somewhat important on AD-centric champions who have strong levels 1-3 because you get 100% armor penetration and rape faces (Sivir can do like 240 damage with her boomerang and one autoattack at level 1, Ezreal, Urgot, you name it). For passive bot laners and for other champions in general - you can play without runes pretty well.

having multiple pages allow for many different roles and specific champs require specific runes. but as long as you have some very general rune pages for what you want to play you'll be fine.

You should be able to skate by on a page of tier 1 runes easily. They're nearly as effective as tier 3 runes and easily affordable. You're better off working on mechanics and game sense than the little things when you first start playing. Having the "proper" runepage isn't going to make much of a difference regardless compared to playing a perfect game.

Thoroughly meh.

On paper his kit should be good enough, and he can clear fast enough.

Problem is he has mana issues in jungle, his ganks suck now compared to other jungles, and whenever I play him my team goes full retard.

Basically, Id rather have Shyvana, Skarner, Amumu, Maokai, Lee Sin, or Rammus.

If I could make any changes to him that I could, I would reduce his mana costs and give him back his ult range. Level 1 is just T_T.

This post in the IPL Killing Spree thread caught my rabbity ears. I pose a simple question for you all here in the subforum.

What do you think of our Subforum having its own Calendar of Events, News Posts/Roundups (like the TL Mainpage has) or even Power Rank? Obviously these would have to be self-contained to our Subforum.

The exact method of delivery is a separate issue, whether we want to use Stickied Threads, the Global Announcement Tool on the top of the Subforum or Threads, or other methods.

Things to consider of course would be the amount of manpower needed (a lot of us are busy people), how big the audience would actually be, and what exactly TL wants. There'd likely be no use for team analysis or meta analysis considering there's already so many other things out there. Is this even needed?

With the updated TL calendar it shouldn't be too hard to integrate another category (you can currently filter by Brood War, SC2, and Other). We'd need somebody to add events obviously, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue.
