cass is definitely my favorite AP, just because the DoT, and her E/R is so strong, fast death cap = ez mode brand is decent but he falls off the chart for effectiveness the longer the game goes, though his stun is really effective. Xerath is so strong because of his range/stun/ulti, and his passive helps alot too (even though he has massive range he usually doesnt get focused for the passive to reach its potential)

I almost never go early deathcap on Cass. Sure, they damage is nice, but with an early rylai's, you get great damage, good survivability, and OP champ control.

Because Cass gets axed by CC and suffers from her short range compared to most other great-scaling AP heroes.

Cass' range is better than quite a few ap heroes, and matches others. She has better range than Annie or Kass, and given she has her R she is safer than a lot of people.

wat wat? Short range? We talking about Cass here? What set of AP champs outrange her Q. It's 850 range.
Edit: I really like Cass because her full combo is just fk tard silly. And no RNG rage like Brand on occasion.

All AP carries get "axed" by CC. This is not unique to Cass, and she can kite better than most. Her Q is great range, and her R is deceptively long range as well.

I just watched the LO3 thing about how the koreans are gonna smash everyone at WCG. Could they win? Sure. But is it more likely that every american and canadian is going to be too drunk to actually give a shit during the games? Probably.

Wait... what?
"Hey um... since junglers are always MIA and therefore ruin games we kinda wanted to nerf them a little bit, but we didnt want to tell you so we 'remade' the jungle and now have to somehow fix our fix first before this game gets not retarded again."
In which universe were junglers as impactfull as Morello is mentioning it there over the last patches? Is it a universe without wards, without (even the nerfed) CV?
The few times I played against top EU teams as a jungler they didn't even NEED accurate warding or CVs because they simply read the enemies play well enough to smell a jungle gank coming from miles away.
I was one of the (few) people who were like "If they do this right it could be awesome" when I went over what I read as the intented changes for jungling but the tl;dr changes of jungling being "We wanna make junglers weaker since it fucks over newbs" is a pretty damn big fuckup for a company who wants their game to be considered well-balanced and competetive.

Rage moment.
+ Show Spoiler +Bear is gay as fuck. Holy shit is this bastard strong. Why the fuck did they make him hard to kill, then make him scale with Health as damage? Fuck that, fuck it right in the butt.
Anyway. The new champ is good! When he's on my team, of course. He's a pretty strong jungler, as far as these things go, with good ganks and good tank scaling into the late game. Every one I've seen has built just health items, like Warmogs, RoA, Rylais, etc, and destroyed things with W and lets his passive act as an active GA.

Something the bear strikes me with is that Q+W are physical and E+R are magic. That kinda means late game your ultimate is really lackluster unless you get a Void Staff or something which probably isn't worth it. On the plus side, scaling with HP is silly and it synergises with Atmas too!

Malz does, but her E range is 700 but with a brutal post-cast dead stop that you can't really cancel much.
Most other AP heroes are not as hit hard by CC as Cass because they don't sit there and spam a spell. It's a range and animation issue, similar to how Twitch is dreadful at kiting.

His damage doesn't really scale into late game (except W), but his survivability scales like whoa. Anyone know what the actual health% of his passive is? It feels so difficult to fight through if he can juke shots or isn't focused.

(Innate): When Volibear's health drops below 30% of his maximum health, he will heal for 30% of his maximum health over the next 6 seconds. This passive effect has a 120 second cooldown.
So yes, it's pretty disgusting.

I almost always get first blood since me and top lane are same level when I gank. (Or bot lane, depends on location.)
I'm unsure on the items to go with skarnar though. I go wiggles mercs warmogs atmas and then GA or Thorn depending. Suggestions? You dont need Wriggles on Skarner.
I start boots and being specced into defensive I think my movespeed at level 1 is 388. I go Sheen first, then Mercs. Depending on how the game is going I'll either get Phage then a Defensive item or Defensive Item then Phage.
Tri Force is really good on him whether or not you like it. His gap closer is only move speed and flash, and trinity makes his movespeed better, makes his CDs come up faster, increases his damage, and slows his opponents even more (lol.)
I usually go Trinity into tanky and my last item (aka I rarely build it) is Gunblade.
I like Wits End as my first defensive item because it is so strong and Skarner scales well with attack speed. For armor I prefer Randuins or Frozen Heart.
I have not yet seen the need for Warmogs on Skarner. His W being up so often gives him a lot of hidden health.

So how WOULD you "win" a gank by a jungler? If it´s another laner the fact that they leave their lane and miss minions is the reward. With junglers even if you have wards you are forced to stay passive since you can´t fight 1v2 or 2v3 - and if you could the jungler wouldn´t show up. The issue with jungleganks isn´t that people die to much to them but that the smart way to deal with them is to play passivly. The change isn´t intended to make ganks weaker but actually punishing if you mess them up.

Then again, Kog and Vayne just kind of laugh at him, so there's that.

I don't get this - one of the main reasons Cass is so strong in lane is because she has longer effective range than pretty much everyone not named Xerath. Same thing in team fights - you use Q and W to slow their entire team and watch them run helplessly, and if they get caught out of position and/or run towards you then you can pick them off with E.
Pretty much every AP (except Xerath, fuck that guy) needs to get pretty close for their full nukes.
