There is a certain value in keeping champions from taking 4% crit at level1 but in turn masteries should also have options to boost critreliant champs.

But then if he goes for avarice blade with that 400g he will lose the lane. Atleast that's what happened everytime I laned against a brawler glove first gp as riven.

That keeps duels from being mathproblems. There is a certain value in keeping champions from taking 4% crit at level1 but in turn masteries should also have options to boost critreliant champs. Except there isn't a crit reliant champion besides Tryn and he's just fundamentally broken basically ^_^ On December 07 2011 14:25 GreenManalishi wrote: Why are crit runes not used? I don't really understand it. For Marks, the choice is between .95 flat AD, 1.66 armour penetration, and .93% crit chance. Armour penetration is really dependent on the target obviously, but it only takes ~100 damage for crit = flat AD, and any amount over that crit > ad. I realize crit doesn't scale with many skills, but since late game most carries have upwards of 300 AD, I would think that crit would be worthwhile. For quints, I noticed that crit is much less efficient compared to the other stats, so maybe something like crit marks and AD quints could work. I think I am going to try it. I lose a little early game power (very little) for quite a bit of late game strength. I could see this being really nice on a carry with few AD scaling spells, and don't naturally build a lot of crit chance. Vayne for example. If you want to waste your runes on late game damage crit damage runes are the best option actually. People use Armor Penetration because they do more damage than the other options at almost any point in the game. There are some situations early on when flat ad can be better, but these hypothetical situations are few and far between (and after a few minutes arpen will surpass them anyway). The marginal increase in the lategame you're talking about is so small though that there's no point in using it. Doing a couple extra dps at minute one is a lot more relative to ten extra dps at the fifty minute mark. Just because the numbers end up higher later on doesn't mean that they're actually more significant. As for the whole crit diminishing returns argument. It's hilarious how everybody can be right about something and not realize that their answers aren't mutually exclusive. On December 08 2011 00:11 mordek wrote: What about GP and his Q? Any value in starting crit runes/brawler gloves there? You'd actually do more consistent damage running a full offense page with arpen and flat ad and such. However, the crit chance cannot be accounted for since it isn't displayed anywhere so it has that surprise factor (although neither does arpen). If you ran a full flat ad page and they clicked on you they could realize this and account for it. There's no accounting for a full crit page ![]()

Avarice is nice for the gold but as Delta said not the strongest laning item to use your gold on. FB can be a big deal though, especially in solo q ^^

Thats because your riven and you hit your sweetspot around 5/6 If GP doesn't shut down a Riven completely before she has her ult, he'll get his ass wupped. I've been running crit red's lately and i get quite a few kills because of the crits. That, and people rage because I tell them I only have crit masteries and think I'm super lucky. :3
