Have you read his abilities, man? Kassadin is like 10000x better off going vs. AP mid than vs. a bruiser top lane.
Also, Kassadin is wildly overrated after the 50 range nerf on his Q (though TBH, I'm pretty sure top players all realize this--it's just that tournament servers are all still on pre-nerf patches, so it's still worthwhile for them to have practice on him). There are lane matchups now that were playable that are now awful, and some matchups that were good that are now only mediocre.

Ya, I just went there for like the 3rd time in 2 years to see what people were talking about, and I think I lost a little bit more faith in humanity after just a little 5-10mins trip. I guess I'll stick to TL LoL subforum...
Keep in mind like 90% of the LoL playerbase are: 1. drunk 21+ year olds 2. 14 year old halo kids "LOL MAN YOU SUCK" 3. Brazilians "huehuehue" 4. trolls 5. People who play this game like once a month and still think sunfire on garen is a must
I think I covered most of it?

Soraka is a pretty boss mid lane. You can sustain, silence the ap guy you're against, and with ad reds your banana's hurt. You don't need magic pen as much because of your starcall, and you just get deathfires grasp and you can actually do some serious burst damage.

Speaking of sunfire on Garen, I'd like to ask a straight question :
Which items are generally bad but are still vastly bought ?
I see people shitting on sunfire everywhere and I kinda understand why. It's a little bit like Madred's. Are there other items like that, which seem good but most definitly suck ?

I mean she's a very solid and good pick but there are champs that are so much more dumb. Usually Morgana Kass and Sion are banned. Especially since we have 6 bans. But Morgana is at least as good as Sion. I'd still ban shit like Riven and Graves over Morg. Like I think on a overall level, Morg is probably even better than Sion, but Sion is just so abusive in soloqueue. Main reason I ban morg is because solo queue are too dumb to deal with her, rather than her being super strong. Riot does need to nerf her passive spellvamp, though.
It goes the other way, too. Most Morg players can't hit binds for shit.

I have friends who won't listen when I tell them not to start with ability power book so they can rush Kage's lucky pick. These are the same guys who take clarity and will not upgrade the pick to dfg.

Ok, I figured I'd check this out. Let's say Cait vs Cait as an example, and compare autoattack strengths. I'll assume Arpen quints for now, and that the enemy will run Armor yellows. Boots/3 start. Basically, the most useful AD runes could possibly be. AD: 50 (+3) Arpen: Assuming 3 Sunder, 16 + 10% Opponent Armor: 25.69 (+3.5) 9 AD reds = 8.55 AD gives an autoattack damage of 52.33 at level 1 9 Arp reds = 14.94 Arp gives an autoattack damage of 50.80 at level 1 Not a huge difference, but yes at level 1 AD reds are better. Now let's say we're level 9 with a BF sword. The Arp outperforms the AD by 3.2 per autoattack. I'm sticking with my Arpen.
In practice though an AD carry bot is concerned with getting BF sword before their opponent and then bully them so their team can take dragon/towers. Another issue is that flat Arpen is worse than AD against high armor values and in most games there is actually a suprising amount of bonus armor - Aegis, Soraka, Taric, Sona... Also being able to lasthit easier isn´t a nonfactor, amassing CS is the key goal in lane. Finally combining % reduction with flat reduction is inefficient since flat comes first in the calculation.

Yesterday I faced a Tryndamere with Ghost/cleanse. Aside from the fact that our fizz fed him like 5 or 6 kills at top, we were simply unable to kill him. Exaust, ignite, his ult is up, NOPE CLEANSE then he ghosts/spins out and we couldn't do shit.
I still don't think he is banworthy, but he is pretty damn annoying.
My bans usually go something like Kassadin, Morgana, Leesin, Singed (if I am not playing him), Sion, Akali (Not really OP).

Or who open mana crystal/meki pendant with mana regen runes, take clarity, then rush archangels and say it's a good build because they don't run out of mana! =)

IIRC someone did the math out on TL ages ago, and while it's true that ArPen gets worse at high armor values, the tradeoff on ArPen vs. AD on marks is poor enough that the break-even point is pretty high, particularly when your AD values are high as well. I've said this before--the tradeoff between ArPen and AD on quints is pretty good, but AD is decidedly worse on marks.
On November 26 2011 01:46 Unentschieden wrote: Finally combining % reduction with flat reduction is inefficient since flat comes first in the calculation. The fact that ArPen as a stat is inefficient is less relevant than the fact that the AMOUNT of AD you get is inefficient when getting them on marks when compared to quints.
Also, infinitestory, you're better off assuming AD quints instead of ArPen quints--because if you were going to get ArPen from only one of them, it makes zero sense to get it on quints, when the tradeoff on ArPen vs. AD is more in favor of ArPen on marks.

So, Volibear's abilities have been revealed.
+ Show Spoiler [Splash Art] +Abilties: Rolling Thunder: Volibear drops to all fours and runs faster if chasing an enemy champion. The first enemy he attacks is knocked into the air. Frenzy: Volibear's repeated attacks grant him additional attack speed. Once Volibear has repeatedly attacked four times, he can perform a vicious bite on his target. Majestic Roar: Volibear lets out a powerful roar that damages and slows enemies. Minions and monsters are feared as well. Thunder Claws (Ultimate): Volibear channels the power of the storm causing his attacks to blast his targets with lightning that bounces to other nearby enemies. Chosen of the Storm (passive): Volibear heals rapidly for a few seconds when his health drops to a critical level. + Show Spoiler [Ability Screenshot] +Lore:Though the northern reaches of Freljord are some of the most unforgiving lands in Valoran, the Ursine have survived upon the region's barren, stormy tundra for centuries. As a fierce and respected warrior of the Ursine, Volibear devoted his life to the protection of his people and loyalty to his elder brother, the tribe's chief. When his brother was killed during a hunt on the tundra, the tribe looked to Volibear as his successor. It was an honor and a burden that Volibear had never expected, but he shouldered the charge with pride. However, by Ursine tradition, the tribe could not recognize Volibear as chief until he returned from a journey to the peak of their sacred mountain, a place forever shrouded in a thundering maelstrom. There, Ursine chieftains must speak to the storm itself, gaining clarity and wisdom to empower them as mighty leaders. Donning the chieftain's traditional armor and enchanted gauntlets, Volibear began the long and perilous climb up the slopes of the mountain. When he reached the peak and gazed into the raging storm above, he saw a horrific vision of a Freljord utterly consumed by war. Amidst the carnage, the Ursine fell dead upon a bloody battlefield. Believing the vision to be an omen of things to come if he did not act against them, Volibear traveled to the capitol of Freljord. The Ursine had not ventured across the southern mountains in centuries and his appearance was met with unease. However, Queen Ashe recognized Volibear as a wise and powerful ally. In what Volibear considered the first step against a war-torn future, they forged an alliance. As part of their agreement, he joined the League of Legends in the name of a unified Freljord, representing the primal might of his nation on the Field of Justice. ''Few can weather the storm that follows in the wake of Volibear's roar.'' - Ashe, the Frost Archer + Show Spoiler [Screenshot] +

i really dont care about the whole CLG/elements drama
Kind of getting tired of it now it fills GD thread yay!

So he's designed to be a jungler then? That's the only reason I can see for his E ^_^
|
Wish they would release some more support champions already. I think like 70% of the last 15 champions have been melee, with the vast majority of those being bruisers/junglers. This guy is pretty generic too

I'm still using the same ones I did before (Flash on everything, Tele on top lane, Exhaust on AD carry, Smite for jungle), but what are other people using?
I run Cleanse always on my AD carries. Will save your life more than Exhaust and will prevent you from losing a fight if the enemy AD Exhausts you. Plus it has a lower CD than Exhaust or Ignite. I actually wouldn't be surprised if in a few weeks or months all the pro AD carries start running Cleanse/Flash. I could see certain APs run Cleanse as well. Who needs Ignite or Exhaust when you have a spell that makes both of those summoner's pointless?

volibear, insta buy? insta bought last shy and fizz, though good champs they are really boring hopefully voli will be a good champ
