Seems like the bitter is strong itt, but I'll say she does seem pretty buggy in my limited experience with her.

I'm most interested in how the new AP items will work out though.

Trolololo... When in doubt build Tiamat. Anyway... the problem is not the current patch or Caitlyn. It's the fact that Riot is releasing champions almost every month, which means they have to deal with balance issues in an impossible scenario: a new champ might brake the overall champion balance they have achieved. Nerf's, buffs are going to happen in a never ending cycle.. Well... I'm not even sure if Riots main concern is champion balance... this game is just losing the appeal for me. I'd rather see 20 balanced champs in a variety of game modes and maps than 40 shitty balanced champs in one map with crappy items (not Tiamat).

agreed, but the with the business model riot is running, they have to keep churning out new champs regularly to sell the skins and keep the game interesting for everyone and stay afloat business wise...

It's not so much a matter of new champs as it is "clutter" champs. A lot of champs are just in roles where their job is done better by someone else. Soraka gets outdone by Sona and Taric, Garen is nigh useless now, Veigar only sees play against casters as he's really just an anti-mage (albeit a good one), and Kog Maw I only see during free weeks.

The newer heroes are at least a breath of fresh gameplay. And like it was said before, it helps Riot stay afloat and keep our game free, which I can't complain about. So while a new map would be fun or maybe a few "extra" things added in like a larger map that involved minor "quests" could extend gameplay, we have to respect that Riot has to run a business first.

A map is much harder to balance than a champion. Just consider the different dominant champions on SR and TT.

The game concept allows the players to easily even out the biggest imbalances, and the frequent rebalancing keeps the game fresh. I really don't understand your concerns... (it should be obvious that a balance similar to SCBW cannot be achieved in a game like LoL)

Alright, if you wanna be technical, we don't have to.

But we're using a product that is completely free, often updated, worked hard upon by people who spend their 9 to 5's on it, and only costs money if we choose to pay for it.

So I think at least a smidgen of respect is in order.

Did minions or turrets have a change in health/armor or damage, respectively? I saw range minions taking 3 hits to die from 1st mid turret. I think I was still on mushrooms but, really, did they change?

Modes/Maps for RP seems like a pretty bad idea.

And them churning out new champs keeps the game interesting I'd say because the metagame is always changing and shit. Of course you won't get perfect balance that way but its a lot more interesting than a Starcraft approach for a game with different heros/skills/items etc.

was it late into the game? Minions get stronger as the game goes on so if it's really late game, that's not implausible.

So, Garen.

A lot of things have happened since patch v1.0.0.107 hit. Let me first mention changes that affect Garen indirectly:

*Gragas' Drunken Rage damage reduction was nerfed
*Malphite's Seismic Shard range reduced, Ground Slam mana cost increased
*Mordekaiser shield generation reduced, shield decay increased
*Innervating Locket removed
*Last Whisper changed to AD + %ArmorPen
*Spirit Visage cost increased
*Sunfire Cape cost increased slightly, Passive is now Unique

Obviously, seeing his competition get nerfed makes Garen comparatively better; Innervating Locket removal hit Gragas and Udyr real hard for instance, while Spirit Visage nerf hurt Gragas and Dr. Mundo.

Now, onto the Garen changes:
Assuming you're levelling up Judgment ASAP...

Level 1, your Judgment is doing 17% less damage
Level 3, your Judgment is doing 15% less damage
Level 5, your Judgment is doing 13% less damage
Level 7, your Judgment is doing 12% less damage
Level 9, your Judgment is doing 12% less damage
Level 18, your Judgment is doing 18% less damage

The new Last Whisper has great stats if you want to buy an offensive item on Garen, but even if you get it by level 9, your damage is only slightly greater than Old Garen's level 9 damage (To make the gold comparison a bit more fair, you could give Old Garen a Sunfire Cape to match New Garen's Last Whisper; if you do this, Old Garen once again comes out ahead in damage, without even counting the Health and Armor from the Sunfire...)

So, yeah. Even after the v1.0.0.108 buff to Garen, the champion is still way weaker than he used to be. In my in-game experience, he's... bad. His lategame play is just awful; it was never great to begin with, but now his stats are worse, his expected performance at early and midgame are worse (which snowball into him being weaker still at lategame), and no Sunfire stacking nerf sets him back further; put together, these changes represent a massive kick in the gonads to Garen's lategame. Even though some of his competition was also nerfed (Malphite, Gragas, Udyr) and Rammus is now perma-banned, it still looks like Garen will keep Alistar company at the bottom of the tanking barrel for now.

I've played over a hundred games as Alistar. He used to be my main. Nowadays, I just find him awful and nearly unplayable. As far as tanks go, Nasus is bad, sure, but as soon as lategame comes around, Alistar is basically a 2 second stun on a 10 second cooldown. His bad scaling and worse farming make him decidedly bottom-tier, IMO.
