This is the biggest change I can recall to the gameplay of League of Legends, and no one is talking about it. I can now land a Thundering Shuriken with Kennen or a volley with Ashe...but still be zoned out of XP range. Champions like Kassadin and Malphite with a dominant early poke now leave opponents a dramatically smaller window to gain experience while not tanking that skill (going from 550/600 to 100/150 in their cases).
This is a big deal. Though noone knows what do they mean by "monster", they may just mean jungle creeps (usually they refer to lane minions as minions ) to help with mid not stealing wraith xp
Riot has used the term "monster" in patch notes before and it has ALWAYS referred to jungle creeps. Lane creeps are "minions".
Again (see my post two pages ago) this is obviously just a fix to stealing wraith xp mid.

You could already get Cloth/2pot/ward (460 gold), it's 15 gold cheaper now but still not enough cheaper to get you an extra potion.

Somehow I had it in my head that you started with 450 gold. Too much eggnog at Christmas I guess.

archangel's + cap + hourglass = 700+ ap
they really should reduce the base ap for both cap and hourglass. that's just ridiculous.

they really should reduce the base ap for both cap and hourglass. that's just ridiculous. That's not really the best measure, seeing as it's like 10k worth of items--that's about as much as you should expect to see in an average game, and if you include wards, pots, boots, Doran's start, and possibly another survivability item, you're not going to finish all of that unless you're super-fed.
Hourglass is an NLR-based item. It's not going to give less than 80, and 1000g for 5 armor, 20 AP, and the active seems fine. If they're going to nerf something about it, it should be the active, not the AP, because from a pure-stats perspective, the recipe cost is already skewed WAY toward the active.
Deathcap might be a different story though--the recipe is 840g for 35 AP and the passive. From a cost-effectiveness standpoint that's disgustingly good. You pay 20 less than a Blasting Wand, and even without AP sources other than Deathcap, you're getting more AP than an NLR. Even Infinity Edge isn't that cost-effective right out of the gate.

Archangels + cap + hourglass does not equal 700+ ap. It equals 550+ ap. Just tested it out in game.

Was dragon noticeably buffed? I can still solo it easily at level 4 with Warwick. Maybe it isn't the same w/ some other heros.
|
Ehhh, I couldn't solo drag as lvl 5 with ww. Granted, I got really unlucky and got very few if any procs from razors, but he brought me down to half hp and i only took off like 1.5k..... :/
|
Hmmm... maybe I got super lucky with procs then.
|
Will test that tonight.
At a glance it looks pretty tough. More health and -20% AS will mean health pot may not last long enough.
I might have to put armour back onto my rune page :p
Soo much has changed! Had no idea about the global xp removal.
I wanna try BR + Wits + BC now lol. Also cdr boots look interesting. Then again everytime I've strayed from treads ive regretted it.

...... oh yeah. i was veigar that game.
but still, was archangel's charged? if it was even half charged, it should easily break 600, 625 maybe

"Guys we have to remove zhonyas" "everyone's gonna QQ" "ok how about we just split it and make the items overpowered as fuck" "wut" "then next patch we can be like 'whoops we fucked up, that was way too powerful' 'that is funny because we totally tested it'"

Ok I tried to dragon at lvl 5 with my current rune page designed for late game. Died with him having about 100 health or so left. (using health pot and smite with double buff)
Will reslot armour and try again
Edit: ok just did it with armour yellows on my rune page. Had yellow/blue mr/lvl for better long game. Makes it easier to give up golem to someone else who needs it.
I was left with around 200 health at the end though and I got lucky with the madreds procs I think. Definitely a lot more dangerous to go for now early.

The newest patch is full of fail in so many ways. Caitlyn is unimaginative, boring, buggy, high priced hero. I mean... come on? Does Riot have any proper bug testing at all? The bugs she has are so easily detectable and obvious it makes me really wonder. The only thing original in her design compared to other heroes is her boob size.
This game has not delivered lately. The new heroes (trundle, cassiopeia, irelia) have such boring mechanics compared to the vanilla ones.

Try something else. Like tiamats.
