You get mr/lvl if you're jungling / laning against someone who doesn't have much magic dmg / supposed to completely wreck your lane. You MUST go flat mr vs a tough magic lane(Annie, Leblanc and co.), if you try to mres/lvl it up you're going to be very unhappy.

If you have 2mres less than your enemy then you WILL lose to him even if you have 1000 Elo more (skill-wise)

Whatever makes you comfortable in-lane and weigh the cost + benefits of your decisions. Example: If I'm going into a duolane i'll probably grab flat MR because most 2v2 situations see more spell spamming AND since I'm in a duolane i'll probably not make it to level 10 (Where flat = MR/lvl) fast enough to balance the cost of losing survivability.

The difference is huge, have you tried playing Ashe without apen runes and compare it to playing with them?

I don't have a problem with bursting people down in the late game, of course assuming that I can cs properly in the lane, but my main problem occurs in the first 15 minutes of the game. A lot of teams at my elo (~1200 5v5, ~1100 solo que, I'm trying to climb out of elo hell) don't pick junglers because they're really bad, so I'll get stuck in a 1v2 lane. This really hurts my cs, since I have to hug the tower and take hits/harassment while I'm trying to score last hits. The worst one that I had recently was soloing top versus Mundo/Kogmaw, and I fed 3 times in like 15 minutes. Even though I was trying to cs only under my tower, Kog would destroy me since his range is insane, and We won because our malz carried really hard, but I was a huge liability to my team until I got my triforce at like 27 minutes, which is really slow. How do you guys manage to secure cs in a 1v2 lane? I've been trying to coordinate with my jungler (I rarely play by myself, most of the time i have another person), but most of the time I'm so low on health that ganks don't really do much other than push the lane back for 1 minute.

There's a LOT of factors that affect the outcome of a lane and the higher Elo you are - the less mistakes you make, so the more your laning is affected by "other" factors - like runes. We could argue here about how huge is the rune difference but none of us can prove our point because we are too lazy to check if the difference received due to having scaling vs flat mres at lvl 6 (which we could assume is Annie's breakpoint in power) will matter.

I've been playing her pretty much exclusively over the past week (when I can obviously, there are a lot of idiots out there who instalock the wrong kind of champion and force me to pick what our team needs), and my results have been largely varied. I've had games where I'm 11/1/15 and have triforce at 17 minutes and my full build at 30, but I've had 2/10/2 as well.... Winning 1v2 reliably is pretty diffcult. If there was a champ that could beat 1v2 every time everyone would want it. First up you should just hang around your tower right off the bat. Regardless of what they do they will want to score some last-hits and with 2 people lasthitting that creep wave will always get pushed your way. After that it's a matter of control. Try and keep the lane just outside of tower range but close enough that any gank means they will be taking tower shots. In the end it can be somewhat of a gamble. Depending on the other 2 it could be a serious pain. You should play it safe, get some minion kills but no need to be diving all the way to the back end of the lane when you know they are gonna take off like 50% of your hp for it. Keep the minion wave under control and just outside of tower range and ask for your jungler to gank. If you control the minion wave well then the other 2 will constantly be forced to hang to far forward and this will make them an easy gank for the jungler.

Here's a link to a 4man premade game with some EU LiquidParty people that I just played. I'd like especially Mogwai and Southlight to take a look at the game and the chat and tell me what they think.

Care to give a few words on why it's worth watching?
