As someone who played both DotA and HoN, I must say the LoL community is actually pretty friendly in general in comparison. Probably because a) there are normal games where stats/ranking isn't tracked and b) extremly huge jerks will eventually get banned and c) there is a surrender button and even if you loose you get IP and thus a feeling of accomplishment. I don't want to start a flame war here, but pubs are pubs, they flame you regardless of games. If anything it's about the people you hang out with, like LP and this subforum. Nah, LoL publics are way more relaxed than HoN ones. HoN players are just way more agressive and angry in general. Yep totally agree, HoN players are the worst our of every game I've played.

Here's my experience:
I am currently somewhere around 1600 elo. When I solo queue, half the times I get a nice team who cooperates and we win. The other team near the end of the game start talking shit to us and to each other in all-chat. The same happens to me the other half the time, with me trying to calm people down mid-game so we can somehow turn the game around. Hasn't happened yet.
The same happened in HoN where I was somewhat above average (1600-1800 psr range, before mm got introduced). However, it was better and worse because with voice, with me (or someone else leading the team to a victory) with voice coordination (much easier than pinging and typing) or people making fun of my Asian accent (lol). As for 'pubs' I don't play solo normal queues often, but it wasn't exactly pleasant the few times I played.
TL;DR: HoN players communicate more in my experience whether it be shittalking or actual coordination.

Couldn't you attribute that to the fact that HoN has voice chat and LoL doesn't? When I play LoL with buddies on vent, we are communicating all the time..
When I jungle, I wish I had voice chat, I don't know how many times I've failed a gank simply because the people in the lane I'm ganking are oblivious to my presence, regardless of pings and in-game chat.]
IMO, the HoN rage guy in the angry goran videos pretty much sums up low-level matchmaking on HoN.

It's so hard to believe that the feeding Ryze who overextends is actually a good player who's having a bad day. Ugh, I find that the hardest thing in this game is staying calm at your teammates.
People need to be friendly.
Not sure about you but sometimes I play really bad and don't adjust properly to a bad start and end up with bad scores. Or sometimes just being the guy who gets killed asap in teamfights. This happens to me enough that I never get mad at people are having bad scores. Most people aren't carried to their elo despite what people think.

I like when you have a bad matchup and then three kids who are ATing on your team decide to spend the last 15 minutes of a game you will inevitably lose being vocally pissed that you're 0-0 or 0-1 at level 10.

The ignore command works wonders. Seriously, they will NOT give you any constructive criticism, just ignore them, forget that they said anything and focus on the game

We had that over 9000 thing before.
Reminds me, I never got to see the login queue, actually. Any ideas why?

its for EU only huehuehue

I've had it on NA, but only once and I was like #4 in the queue or something so it was like a 15 second wait, lol.

Is anyone's game client crashing on the US server?

ultimate bravery site isnt working anymore

probably got a lot more traffic than it could deal with, lol.

Working for me. You can also now include/exclude champs so you only get champs you actually own.

hey, is Lichbane used on new Ryze yet? j/w, seems like a decent fit since he can trigger it a bunch, it gives mana and movespeed and magic resist. I think it would be a good 5th or 6th item.
|
Lichbane I think procs based on AP, and new ryze only stacks mana.
|
oddly enough I'm thinking more of it outside of the context of the procs, lol. I think they'd be decent procs though since Void Staff and Archangels typically find their way into his build at some point. Like, looking at a standard Ryze build, you have Frozen Heart, Banshee's Veil, Merc Treads, Void Staff, Archangels, is there anything that would be better in the 6 slot? You'd still be at around 300ish AP, right? especially if you buy blue pots.
