Aegis amumu combo is a Dan Dinh thing. It's viable since the HoG nerf, and it's actually one of the best items on him, but he's a carry who needs a big gold boost from an early dragon+kills.

EHP is bad right now. Since the philo stone buff hp and regen are kings, any solo who can go atmogs will have warmogs by the time anyone else would get aegis. Warmogs is enough to let you survive and burn enough of your opponents' damage. This also includes the fact that by picking up random stuff you are filling your item slots in no time, can't complete other items because your inv. is full and will have to sell aegis if it gets to lategame.

I hate aegis, it's one of my pet peeves. Too much gold, too little stats for you.

wat
it's like the most cost efficient non-stack item in the game even just considering the self-stats. throw in the aura stats (especially when they stacked on minions x_x) and it's a top-tier item. i get that shit in every game that i'm the jungler. the MR aura alone like... negates all MPen runes the enemy team could run.

i don't run it on supports except soraka or janna tho, and only midgame on them.

major quoting fail by me real tard

270 HP = 712.5
30 Armor = 500
39 MRes = 650
8 AD = 328
2160.5 gold in self stats for 1925 gold, 112.23% efficiency

emblem of valor
17% Lifesteal = 637.5
10 HP/5 = 312.5
950 gold in self stats for 800 gold, 118.75% efficiency

*trollface.jpg*

problem summoner?

I won't even bother going into Doran's items or wriggles or triforce (funny story, triforce is more gold efficient than Aegis without counting the MS, Slow Proc, or Sheen proc).

touche - i guess i should have made the addendum that it's the most cost-efficient item for stats that everyone actually uses
gogo lifesteal sona and triforce soraka though x_x

when i read that post is when i started following that suggestion and i'm inclined to agree. sure you miss out on some of the big items passives (oh noes! no 35-lowered-by-MR aoe dps Q_Q! no more spell bubble that karthus pops from 1000 range with lay waste anyways Q_Q!) but the aura combined with the self-protection just makes you a midgame MONSTER, which is where most games are won anyways

if we're just talking about defensive items, this is more or less true because Riot flipped shit when everyone was playing 5 tanks and nerfed the staple Defensive items into the fucking ground.

I'm really enjoying the new 4 tank + random team comp.

So they gave all the tanks defensive skills to make up for it, and gave them as much burst as Annie.

Problem fixed.

zzzz, I honestly think GP, Udyr and MAYYYYYBEEEEE Yorick are the only tanky DPS who are out of line atm. I seriously get baffled when anyone still thinks Irelia or Jarman is out of line right now.

i still think irelia falls under the category of "caution: dangerous when fed" melee dps moreso than anyone else (in my last ranked loss, i had an udyr who somehow lost to irelia top. how does that even happen? once she was up 2 kills though it was game over, she steamrolled the rest of us on her way to 11-0 in 20 minutes) but i agree with you mostly. all the tanky dps feel pretty balanced. even yorick isn't that hard to deal with and you can just ban pirate all day erry day so it's all good

if gangplank is out of line now, he was out of line before the buff too lol

he already dominated every top lane matchup just no one realized it. Parley is on way too low CD/mana cost. All they need to do is up both a bit and he'll be fine

For me Irelia still feels whack primarily because the way I build her I honestly feel invincible against everything in lane, and can get my farm unless Fiddle decides to spend his first 10 minutes repeatedly ganking the shit out of me. And her power level thus only looks fair in comparison to the more fotm OP laners like Udyr/Yorick/etc. Her sustain is still too ridiculous imoimo. I'd imagine it's the same thing with Lee Sin, who also tends to have decent survivability and is also ridiculous in lane.

well, at least you could sorta run away back then... I dunno, I'm actually inclined to agree with you though, I'm guessing he was secretly already too strong and then they just herpdederped him to stupid OP territory because you and Chrispy were the only 2 people who realized it.

People were already jungling GP before the buff, I thought we all were in agreement that he was already fine and on the way to being re-discovered when he got that retarded buff. Same thing that happened to release Udyr lol.

oh yeah i forgot about lee sin because no one plays him at 1600 l0l
but i think he's pretty above average

@brees i agree with you. i was doing lane warwick for a while before we saw it at dreamhack and it became fotm, and in team practices, snow would take pirate and just crush me. before pirate's buff. it didn't even have anything to do with his healing reduction (though that helped) it was more his spammable heal+anti-ult and ranged nuke. real fucking hard lane. we actually won a 2v2 tourney against a couple high level players by playing pirate/rumble + warwick before they were both fotm just because of their ridiculous sustain and range for melee champs.

most of GP's overpowered state comes from how the game is playing out atm and him being the ideal solo top. Mids and bot lane farm 24/7, have 4v4s at dragon once in a while. Top lanes farm until first tower falls pretty much. GP is a late game carry that wants to just stick around in lane and farm all game, and is also a huge threat in lane in terms of harass and sustainability. To top if off he has a global ult to make teamfights at dragon a 4.5 vs 4 and is really really hard to gank.

basically if the game ever switches back to a fast paced game for some reason (huge buff to champ kills/dragon/baron/neutral creeps/etc) gangplank wont be as good.

Except for the fact that he is a carry with free extra gold, sivir ult on half the CD and is immune to CC. Which makes him ideal for small fights.

Then you stick him in the jungle, get him red buff, and crush 3 lanes instead of 1.

Isn't he normally played as a jungler? Why would you give up on ganks with massive damage, aoe speed boost and a slow?

Because brees and guitar are arguing he is op because of his top lane. I was being half sarcastic. His top lane is almost as op as his jungle.
