I've played a couple games with Anub. Goddamn, he's a beast of a champ. I always knew he was solid from playing against him, but playing him is something else. He just has an awesome kit.
Yeah, I bought him last week, he's so much fun.
The thing I don't like about Malf is that to do any reasonable kind of healing you have to spec into Life Seed, which completely cuts out the possibility of you playing Moonfire spec, and all the other healing talents suck. Both of his ults are amazing, but the rest of his kit needs a once-over.

I do love the Malf concept. Hope it gets buffed to be good. Keeping everybody up on health/mana while revealing the enemy and occasionally rooting them seems like a cool way to play support hardcore.

I just played a game where it was Anub(me), Lili, Malf, Abathur, and Diablo.
How the fuck are we supposed to win this game?

Honestly Malfurion's kit is fine. He just needs to have all his mana costs halved lol. There is no way to not run out of mana on him. Brightwing and rehgar seem 10 times stronger for this reason.
|
Malfurion has a nice set of spells but they are just a bit underpowered. Similar thing with say ETC. Some numbers of heroes just need tweaking.
His trait is nice but it sucks that so many heroes can't use it well. Quite a few don't have mana and not all that do really need extra. Still on some heroes that are many hungry it's pretty awesome, 100 mana every 30 seconds more than doubles a heroes regen (begins at 3 per sec for 90 every 30 seconds). It is a little silly the trait doesn't level a bit though, as giving 100 mana later on is less useful. A great buff for him would be to make this self castable but that would immediately make him really strong without ever having mana problems basically, being castable for half effect on himself would be nice though.
Regrowth is nice but the numbers seem a bit lousy. 40 + 100 over time for 75 mana and 7 sec cooldown, about 2 hp per mana early on and 20 hp per sec. Uther however has a 150 instant heal for 90 mana and 12 secs, slower but heals just more instantly and not much worse per mana, especially considering the rest of uther's kit is less mana hungry. Rehgar has 90/135/180 heal for 70 mana depending on if he hits 1/2/3 targets which is basically much better too.
His other abilities are fine but also just slightly underpowered i think. Moonfire is a decent spell to pick off but unexciting, entangling roots takes a bit long to have an effect.
That said I don't think he is such a terrible hero. For support he is just outclassed by uther, rehgar and tassadar I think. His heal over time abilities especially with his ultimate are pretty strong though. If some other talents get nerfed like resurrection of the storm and some like say conjurer's pursuit get better he becomes quite good. Using his shield talents and his healing he is pretty good at keeping the team alive he just needs slightly better mana or slightly better talents/skills. When uther get's nerfed though he may shoot up.

Azmodan + Abathur may be the most unfun thing I have ever played vs in a MOBA.

did blizzard make it? can we finally play a dota with controller ?

On November 20 2014 04:24 tadL wrote: did blizzard make it? can we finally play a dota with controller ? I'd like to note that based on fireside chats from the designers earlier this year that they are - or were at that time - looking at ways to flexibly increase the skill cap through the talent trees. They had some good ideas, like expanding active spells to several keys, or talents that converted a targetable spell to a skill shot (with added damage/effects whatever).
So the same hero could be made easier to play but a bit less powerful or harder to play but more powerful based on talent choices. Considering this is already something that exists to an extent through item choices and/or skill builds on many heroes I think this is a good rabbit to chase down. But I don't know if it's still a design concept they are pursuing. There's a LOT of design flexibility offered by the talent system, it's all about how they use it (and how they gate those talents...).

Wasn't dota2 already playable with a controller?

Depends on your definition of "playable".

SO MY FRIEND GOT A BETA KEY AND DIDN'T EVEN REALISE IT. and I still don't have one.... sadface.
|
Can we make a separate "Crying about beta keys" thread? Like the QQ thread in the LoL forums.

Randomly received a beta key. Is there no solo queue and you always have to find 4 teammates or am i too dumb to find it?

The latter, I'm afraid. You can queue by pressing on the "Play" tab in the bar below. You then choose your hero and ready up, and it queues you.

blizz really needs to fix this stupid rejoin system ... if there is one thing that really makes me rage it's getting dc'd and then have to wait 5minutes knowing that in those 5minutes a stupid ass bot plays ur hero right now and u are most likly to lose the game anyways .... dflghluidfhgöuiodfjgnh
edit: ooooh the pleasure of getting back into the game seeing the bot skilled retarded talents ... please blizzard ... PLEASE
|
Hahaha I must say the bot taking stupid skills is pretty hilarious, happened to me once : was not disappointed. I'm surprised they haven't thought about that problem.
But yeah their reconnect system sucks heavily at the moment, hopefully will get better for release.
|
AFAIK this reconnecting system will be changed for a better one, while we are in alpha stage, it seems pretty okay, at least we got some system.
The main problem of bot is that he's not attending at main team fights, while ur team might be kicked in ass near trubute respawn, bot will try to push down random lane, so wrong skill learning is not the worst scenario u may get.
Dunno, I've never felt any significant problems playing vs Abathur and those little and soft Murloc, Brightwing is many times more annoying and useful than those two.
God I hate Nova almost in every game, she makes me feels like Dustin Browder himself designed her, ultimate is insane. Bought Zeratul, that guy is a dream with proper micro.

u can make bot follow u everywhere with ping
