EDIT: and next game I was against another mage, who I was in an *amazing* position against, then he dropped Deathwing and held board control. Fuck sake. Bombed out of arena with just 1-3 score with what was actually a really solid paladin deck. I'm so frustrated right now.

Bombed out of arena with just 1-3 score with what was actually a really solid paladin deck. I'm so frustrated right now. Similar thing happened to me. I thought I built a great paladin deck. Had the legendary that became a copy of anything on the battlefield, a sea giant, two of the weapons that heal 2, and some other decent neutrals and "good" paladin cards that synergized well with creatures that would return one to hand (brewmasters) (had defender of argus, argent protector, guys that healed for 3, and the guys that let you draw a card). I ended up going 3-3. The hardest match up seemed to be these very low curve warlock decks; which seemed to be able to empty their hands by turn 3 and then still had decent plays for the rest of the game (despite my deck's ability to heal). Previous draft of the day. I went 6-2 with mage. Lost the first 2 games and then won 6 more before losing the last. The mage deck was objectively worse than the paladin deck, imo. The deck had a really low curve (tons of 2-3 drops, and one Leper Gnome that I was able to get in my starting hand in many of the games and traded surprisingly well); I also had one flame strike, one fireball, one ice lance, one cone of cold, one arcane missiles, and one arcane explosion. I drafted a Leeroy Jenkins (over the 9 guy that brought health to 15 or the other 9 guy that makes it so you have 15 sec turns). I was able to combo the Leeroy Jenkins, plus arcane explosion, in one game, to win one I shouldn't have. I also got the 3 drop (Dalran Mage) that ups magic damage by 1 and the 2 drop (Sorcerer's apprentice) that lowers spell cost by 1, but never was able to keep either alive long enough to really abuse their abilities. In one game against a paladin, the other person had complete board control and was going to hit for lethal I had been freezing his stuff to stay alive etc. and then I drew the fireball to win. Based on the cards, I was seeing from him, it seemed like a better deck (but I got lucky). Mage is just so good in arena b/c it can ping divine shields, pick of weaklings, and the spells are so good at stalling.

EDIT: Ended 5-3. Lost the last game to a pyroblast when I was one turn away from winning. Got the fifth win with the world's luckiest Elven Archer topdeck to deal the last 1 damage. No complaints here.

Blessing of kings can work but if you're slightly behind most people will constantly clear your board to prevent that.

![]() If you look at the mana curve, you'd see twelve 2 drops and think this was super aggro. It certainly can be with the right card draws, but realistically it only has 6 cards you would want to play on turn 2 which is just average. Instead, this deck ended up dominating the the mid game with either some decent combo possibilities, strong individual cards or a well timed Assassinate. There's enough flexibility that there tended to be an answer to whatever my opponent tried doing between turns 4-9. Even against 1x Flamestrike or 1x Holy Nova. I haven't faced any opponents with multiple aoe's, unless you count the Mage who also had a Cone of Cold. So far I'm 7-0. I'll update my final score when I finish. EDIT: Ended up 9-2. Lost to a mage which isn't too surprising. Then lost to a warlock when I made 3 stupid mistakes.

Mercenary Argent Commander Sea Giant I'm really psyched about the possibilities in the first 3 or 4 rounds, and then the Frostwolf Warlords and Sea Giant are solid midgame followups if I can avoid being AOE'd to death. I'm also a huge fan of Earthen Ring Farseer in Warlock decks.

As a mage was trading equally with a priest until I dropped Ysera when we were running out of cards and got the +5 damage board clear dream card. I felt pretty bad when he conceded but at least it was a gg :/

I've been inconsistent at best, so any advice would be good: EDIT: and it's my birthday so you totally have to respond ![]() The other legendary choices were Millhouse Manastorm and Illidan, if anyone was curious. A few weak cards (Boar, Grunt, BBB) but overall a very solid deck, 7+ wins guaranteed. Happy birthday! ![]()

![]() Just had a stupidly close game. I was top decking for like 5 turns straight and was below 10 health. I think I got the taunt totem like 3-4 times in a row to save my ass. The most butt-clinching moment was this screenshot where he was out of cards, had just cleared mine, as well as his board (except for the engineer) with hellfire. I topdecked silencer, ok the only thing that could save me was the taunt totem which I managed to get. Some days man, the gods are with you

And here I get stuck drafting Elven Archers for my Hunter deck when the other options are Wisp and Magma Rager.
