Since I got Hearthstone last week, I am totally addicted to the arena. The amount of fun you can get out of it is huge and I totally like the drafting format. Unfortunately, there was no proper place on TL to share my latest experiences, my frustration or happiness. This is what this thread is for.
Share your latest arena moments. You can brag about your 9-0, cry about the RNG that made you go 0-3 or just tell the others about some crazy cards you got or games you played!

Well I dont have the game but its fun watching people play arena as well 
In fact, I dont even understand why anyone would play the gimmicky combo/rng shit known as constructed. If skill matters at all in this game arena is where its at. Been watching many different streamers and most are decent but some (Debo) are terrible, hehe.
Its also interesting to see which cards are prefered by the streamers. Trump would rather have a 10´th Yeti in his deck over a single Taz´dingo, which I think is a mistake. Taunt went from being overrated to underrated and I´ve seen Trump lose a couple of games cause he didnt draft any/enough taunts.

Can I cry about the god awful drafting I did combined with the fact I had Warlock, Hunter and Shaman all of which I hate to play? In all seriousness I love Arena, but I'm just absolutely awful at drafting/playing doesn't matter though as I have fun anyways

I like arena a lot, especially coming from MTG Drafts which are typically single-elimination. If I have a great deck and eat a bad loss, I can move on and try to get the next one.
If I eat three unlucky losses, it's a bit harder to convince myself it was all luck =X
It also gives a chance to play with some more rare cards that you don't often see in constructed, while having a deck that's usually still not a very good deck (from being at the mercy of the choices)

Interesting that has a list of psuedo-tiers for Arena character classes. Are there any good analysis articles on which classes tend to be better for Arena and why that is so? For example, "Mage" is listed as mid-tier on that arena entry, but both of my 9-2 runs (out of the 7 arena's I have tried since I started on Friday) along with a 7-3 were as that class which makes me believe that writer under-rated it. Thus far I've only seen articles rating specific cards rather than the overall strength of different class picks due to the likely cards one will be able to draft...

That was pre-patch I think. I'd say mage and priest are top tier atm .

Just finished my first 9 wins run :D
Had a shaman deck, would have been shameful not to get 9 wins, that deck was so fucking OP. 3 Fire Elementals + Windspeaker/Bloodlust/ 2 Flametongue Totem + Al'Akir + and plenty of more good cards.(2 Elementals that get a bonus when you play overload + at least 5 overload cards)

Maybe if you only want more gold for more arena runs. A 9th win guarantees a second pack or gold card so you could potentially get less actual gold with a 9th win, but in terms of rewards I don't see how you can say 8 wins is better when it is only a chance at gold and a slimmer chance at 100 gold. Not sure how gold cards factor into it, but do not gold cards give you a boatload of dust when disenchanted?
As far as arena runs, my last run was my first 9 victory! It was about my 8th arena entry and came after having by far my best draft and only getting 1 win with it. The draft that got 9 wins was very average if not below average. RNG gonna RNG!

It depends. If you are low on gold and want more for arena, go for 8 wins only. If you want to gold cards or want dust (from the gold card) then go for 9 wins.

I had a very good Priest deck in Arena last night. However, I lost the first match handily.
He used the coin to play the card 'put a copy of a random minion from your opponent's deck into play'. Sadly, it was my best creature, Windfury Harpy, and I spent the whole match trying to deal with it. I silenced it, he doubled its health, I mind controlled it, he mind controlled it back, and eventually i was overrun.
Another priest match where I'll take the blame, I didn't play around holy nova and ate a really bad one on turn 5 that killed 3 of my minions and saved his. I evened it out with that 7/5 "your minions cost 2 more", but he mind controlled it and beat me to death with it.
I went 2/3, but my pack contained a golden King Krush, so all is forgiven!

It sounds right! After you mind controlled the 7/5, did you then cast one of your own?
It was not a close match, but I find it very difficult to play around such 'potential' threads (like holy nova + mind control) within Arena when I have no idea if those cards are in my opponent's deck.

Wasn't able to complete my last arena run due to server downtime and now i need to work... what's wrong with this world ffs?
It was nice, i misplayed some games pretty badly but still went 7-1, draftet Alextrasza + some good 2 3 and 4 drops and managed to stay stable while casting her on turn 9 like 5 times. So hilarious when her battlecry is a 12 damage nuke. Also, Gladiator bow OP!

I had an extremely frustrating set of picks.
I think about 5 or 6 cards were something like:
-pirate minion
-murloc minion
-lackluster priest spell
I really think the Arena would be a lot better if each 'flash' gave you 5 cards instead of 3, or if you picked 35 and then chose 5 to take out of the deck. It's so easy to get screwed into 1 or 2 bad picks, and then wind up with those in your hands as effectively dead cards.
