Poll: Best 6 Dollar Burger? (Vote): McDonald's (Vote): Jack in the Box (Vote): Burger King (Vote): Carls Jr (Vote): Other
So i tried burger king's angus and jack in the box's sirloin burger but they both taste like cardboard without the fat, nothing like a restaurant burger. What about the other places like Carls Jr and McDonalds burgers? And which ones the best?

I voted other. At red robin I love the Whiskey River BBQ burger

hmm, california burger at peninsula fountain.
|
I tried the baconator at wendys. Ok, well, it's not 6 bucks... but it was still a little pricey. That burger was the shit though.
:D
|
Dude, In N Out has the best burgers out of any fast food and they aren't even close to 6 dollars. I think they are only in California, you're missing out.

its basically the fast food version of a "gourmet" restaurant burger. i didnt put wendys or in n' out cuz to my knowledge they dont have 6 dollar burgers. but yeah, i had this cajun blue cheese burger at this nice restaurant the other day...to die for. then i had jack in the box's 6dollar burger with cheese today, i threw a quarter of it away. no flavor even with all the grilled onions and ranch dressing on it.

The only respectful thing you can now do is give up hamburgers altogether =[

every dairy queen burger is a 6 dollar burger lol.
They add like 3 dollars to the cost just for hotsauce.
So incredibly overpriced

Yes, Five Guys is freakin' money.
And Red Robins doesn't really count... it's not fast food. But I love that restaurant. ;D

We have this small store near my school called "Bub's". They sell a "Big Ugly", which is a 16oz burger (after cooking). If you finish it by yourself, you get your picture taken and stuck on the wall. I haven't had one yet, but I will soon. They also have an Elk Burger. It's pretty cool. Our multivariable calculus teacher takes the class there for lunch twice a year.
|
Only tried the ones at McDonalds and Carl's. Jr. I'd say Carl's Jr. is better. I really gotta try Five Guys now though after all this fuss about it.
|
Damn, it's only on the east coast. Looks like the equivalent of In N' Out here though, which is awesome as well.
|
hmm.. opporto maybe. subway is my favourite but i guess they don't count as burgers because they come in a roll?

Buy your own fucking meat and cook it, is it that hard?
|
On August 03 2007 21:14 boghat wrote: Buy your own fucking meat and cook it, is it that hard?
Yeah, it's kind of hard, you gotta mold the patties and own a grill, and have a place to put the grill and have time to cook it, gotta afford the fuel which costs a lot, so you shell out the same money for the burger, but also spend a lot of time cooking it and all.
|
It takes like 7 minutes if you have a grill. If you don't have a grill I guess that sucks but they don't cost that much. There's nothing to mold though but homemade patties do taste better. Actually a store near me sells hamburgers with stuff premade in them like bacon and cheese and they taste delicious

I, for one, will admit that cooking a burger patty and/or bacon and washing and cutting lettuce and tomatoes and cheese and onions and buying all the buns and condiments that you don't use for anything else, all adds up to a lot of work that I'd rather not do for one fresh burger.
I don't have a grill or a barbecue, anyway.
|
It's really not that bad. Me and my friends do it at my grill all the time. We're all usually drunk by that point though which makes it more fun I guess.
|
STOP POSTING PICTURES. Im so hungry....
|
I hear in and out are very nice, never been there though
|
|
i like alot of different sandwiches.. but in reality the double cheeseburger from mcdonalds.. should be 6$ so it could win this shit
|
Other: Famous Daves Devil Spit Burger
and for anyone who gets mcdonalds, i highly recommend getting the dollar McChicken, than ask for their spicy buffalo sauce.. pour some of that on the mcchicken and you are set.
dont forget the large fry and large Dr.Pepper
oh and for everyone talking about cooking their own burgers, go out and buy a fuckin GFG ! the one and only George Foreman Grill...im telling you, you can cook the most delectible burgers on the planet and for some who actually own it, you know what im talking about
|
Why is it in these threads, someone always says, "Cook it yourself!"? Maybe you enjoy cooking and cleaning and sewing pretty pretty dresses, Sally, but some of us keep our genitals outside of our bodies and like driving our overpowered cars imprudently fast to place where we can bellow, "GRIND UP SOMETHING DEAD FOR ME TO EAT!" and they cower in awe of our manly might and do it.
If people start talking about which chocolate bar they like, nobody says, "Why don't you just go home and bake a cake?"
+ Show Spoiler + I like the BK Stacker Quad. It is a glorious meatwad. Goes well with their "turbo" coffee. If only the bastards would let you buy those little cinnamon buns with the dipping pack of icing at a normal time of day, it would be the perfect meal. DESSERTS ARE NOT BREAKFAST
+ Show Spoiler + Seriously, making burgers at home is fine if you feel like eating burgers all week, but raw ground beef isn't sold in individual serving sizes. Even then, there are times when you are away from home and you still want to eat food.
|
|
you can get frozen burger patties at the grocery store which makes cookin a burger on the foreman grill that much easier (and they still taste insanely good). but still... i find making your own "six dollar burgers" to be pretty impractical unless you're cooking for the whole family or you're having a bunch of people over or something.
|
Ok ladies, its time I introduce you to the Bogan Burger.
It is actually a $15.50 burger, but it has to be shared.
big turkish bread roll is topped with a steak, a chicken schnitzel, a potato cake, bacon, egg, cheese, onion, pineapple and beetroot.
There's no asking if you want fries with that.
The burger comes with a mountain of fat potato wedges.
Oh, and salad.
Deakin University nutritionist Dr Tim Crowe estimates it would weigh in at 7000 kilojoules.
I have not had the chance to try this beast, although I don't think I would like to cut down a year of my life by having one of these.
|
In N' Out has by far one of the best fast food burgers i have ever had, but i don't think they have a six-dollar burger.
|
isn't 6$ kind of much for a burger?!

Well, I love the Jalapeño Burger at Carl's Jr., but I don't think it is a $6 burger anymore (an even then, their $6 burgers are closer to 4-5), but it's awesome. The Teriyaki Burger is also delicious. Or, you can just order a Famous Star, and ask them to put the Santa Fe sauce on it.
Jack-in-the-Box's Sirloin Burger is pretty tasty too, though I'd rather have a Carl's Jr. burger.
Big Macs don't aren't bad, Whoppers are decent, Wendy's is good, In-N-Out can be godly, but my whole family had a stomach flu for 2-3 days after we ate there once.
Famous Dave's is an awesome place, though I've never had the burger, so that's next on my list.
I've never been to Red Robin, but my brother goes there every now and then, and says they're good, though one time there was a rock in his burger, I kid you not.
As for my favorite $6 burger? That would be the Black and Blue burger from a bar called the Emergency Room, not even a block from where I live.
A thick patty, with loads of spices, crumbled blue cheese (melted, obviously), and the normal fixings like onions, lettuce, tomato. Served with fries or tater tots for $5.99.

do you not have KFC Zinger Towers?
it comes with a spicey red sauce, and mayonaise. you can also dip it in ketchup. my favourite burger ever is/was the mcdonalds mcchicken, but the zinger is messier and very wholesome

A lot of the "$6 burgers" at fast food restaurants aren't really $6. It's just making fun of the expensive restaurant burgers. Places like Carl's Jr. sell their "$6 burgers" for about $4.
|
just had the mcdonald's angus deluxe. it tasted like a bigger version of the quarter pounder. there was a little more char which made it tastier but its still just a quarter pounder. its a lot better than the jack in the box and burger king burgers, though. ill try carl's next if my stomach and bowels can handle it.

All across the country in Denmark. Came with the immigrants back in the 80's and has just gotten more and more popular ever since. Quality varies a lot though: some kebabs are what one must figure angels to be eating (grammar?) while some are barely edible. You gotta try around - be prepared a little extra for good meat: "kebab" literally means meat, AFAIK, and it's really what defines a kebab.
When I visited the US I didn't see many kebab shops tho: I'm afraid I can't answer your question

looks like a "shawarma" to me, which many middle eastern countries have their own version of such as lebanon, israel, syria. its a skewered meat thats rotated served on a pita bread.

well, the term i believe was first coined by carl's jr but its basically any non-restaurant burger, that is fast food, that is restaurant-style. but everyone here has chimed in with their favorite restaurant burger which is fine.
|
I think you'd have a hard time finding a 6$-burger here.. Standard-burgeres at Burgerking and McDonalds (Bic Mac, Whopper,...) are around 3€ and we dont have any other fast food chains here really..6$ seems to be pretty expensive if you ask me. döner kebab is pretty know here though, you can get it at every corner.. I think there are more shops serving these than MCD+BK put together.. Price is 3€ mostly, sometimes it's cheaper.
