Like are we going to see him try to claim victroy with only like 70% of precincts in just cause he happen to have a lead at that point. The amount that biden is going to have to win by just to win is ridicules.Hard to even call us a repluic anymore when you have such blatant corruption by one side This is turning into such a clown festa, how far we have fallen. I just hope dems remember all this and give the GOP the middle finger when they cry about not being treated fair. imo If Trump is up on election night he absolutely will claim victory and put forth the idea that the outcome changing would be a result of foul play and shouldn't be allowed to happen. Agreed. I just want this to be over. I’m so tired. Please just someone body slam the other one and let’s move on

Honestly, I'm just wasting my time. The echo chamber/circlejerking is pretty intense in here lol. Can't wait too see you guys lose your minds again on Tuesday!
That was a nice way of leaving without responding to any of the counterarguments.
As a smug European who have lived in the states and love its people, yes currently US is just a shadow of its former self and is one of the places I consider is quite shitty place to live if you aren't upper middle class. Would probably be the last country I would like to live in again, among the western countries, even though I am in that group.
Do you know what one of the major differences between democracies and dictatorships is? Criticism from its own people.

My sister has already left; America is not a particularly friendly country towards foreigners at the moment. I mean, it's not even 'particularly friendly', to put it in a mild way, towards some of its own citizens...
In response to Cush; toppling statues is what brought you over the edge? You were undecided until that happened?

Basicly saying that the american population has only 1 thing that binds them together; the love for their democracy and constitution. More or less suggesting that if democracy fails in one way or the other the usa could basicly fall apart. I don't see how you can argue all Americans love democracy when we see voter suppression, court cases to try and throw out ballots out and a President that actively attacks the voting process in front of cameras. And now if there are already reports of Trump voters trying to block traffic now, how bad is it going to get tomorrow? Those are 'everyday Americans' trying to stop Democracy.
No, Democracy does not bind the American population together.
Is Trump still claiming he deserves a 3e term? Can probably throw out the constitution as an argument aswell at that point.

It freaks me out how much and how casually people in your country tie people to identifying as one party or another. Every Republican I know in Texas still voted from Trump even though they agree he's an unlikable asshole who doesn't know what he's doing. They think he's doing a terrible job but they (and these are their real reasons for voting Trump) like his economic policy more, support him on abortion, and he's not a Democrat. Not every Republican I know voted for him for all 3 of these reasons(in fact, most only had 1 reason to vote for him), but they voted for him nonetheless. And if that's the way your country views politics, and continues to view politics, then it will clearly decline and be replaced by China as the world superpower. America has continued to fail to fix its systemic issues, and is declining as a result. And you'll deserve it. As an American, I agree. This country has done so many horrible things during our history to our citizens and to other countries. We are a dying empire and will be usurped by China soon. Lmao, if the USA is such a terrible place then leave already. There are hundreds of millions of people who would gladly take your place. Even if we check off the boxes that Nevuk laid out, we can't anyway because Donal Dump's handled COVID so bad you basically can't go anywhere in the developed world right now as an American.
|
Well thats not true, you can easily say Trump is not my choice and get on with it. Avoid politics alltogether, don't behave rude and you'll get a warm welcome in generally friendly places.
Just, don't do a Hitler salute. Not just where it's illegal, just don't do it. + Show Spoiler +Example picked is not to be seen as representative of citizens of the USA abroad

What do you mean? The USA is rounding the turn, vaccine is coming any day now, Fauci will soon be gone and the pandemic is over. Right?
The amount of provable and damaging lies Trump spouts should make anyone lose their mind if he wins. It's hard to put into words.

There is a very good chance that Donald Trump will arbitrarily declare victory tomorrow night, regardless of who's actually winning or how many states are still unknown. If it does turn out that Biden has already locked in the win by tomorrow night / Wednesday morning, then polling sites like 538 and most news organizations will be reporting it... I wonder if Fox News and Trump allies will be honest about Trump losing, or if they'll just parrot Trump's lie about him still winning.

Either the night will go quietly with little fanfare and some pockets of dumbass people causing troubles. Or it turns into the purge. There is no in-between.

I mean, his campaign has pretty much said they will declare him the winner no matter what and that any votes counted after Tuesday at midnight, even in states with long histories of doing just that, are sinister attempts by the Democrats to "steal" the election that's rightfully his.
If he's truly down by 8 points nationally, though, and manages to lose NC or Florida, I do not think this will work, even for Fox. His allies will insist on it forever without actually doing a recount because, like all Republicans in the GOP, they don't want to expose that their voting fraud boogeyman is just that (even McCrory wasn't willing to do it).

Another big worry is what his supporters start doing when he insist he won no matter what. You already have armed convoys roving the country trying to intimate voters and shut down rallies with the threat of violence. What are they going to start doing when Trump says he is the rightful winner no matter what.

It only take 1 mentally unstable person with a gun.

Hopefully things don’t start getting really ugly in the coming days.

Trump stranded his supporters in the cold again. At least this time it was in Georgia, so it was only 42 degrees (farenheit). It was pretty much the same way it happened in Nebraska, where they didn't provide enough buses to leave the rally.
I'm baffled by this strategy. This seems like the only way to get people that come to your rally to NOT vote for you. This happened in PA too, though it wasn't as bad as the first one in the midwest where 7 were hospitalized.
NBC Reporter:
Daily Beast writeup:
Last week, several Trump supporters were hospitalized after being stranded in freezing temperatures in Nebraska for hours after the president jetted away from a campaign rally on Air Force One. The exact same thing happened after a Saturday night Trump event in Pennsylvania. Unbelievably, the campaign still hasn’t learned from its mistakes. According to Julie Tsirkin of NBC News, hundreds of Trump fans in Georgia were left abandoned in 46-degree temperatures for hours overnight following the president’s rally in Rome. For the third time, there appeared to be an issue with transporting people back to their parked cars. https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-supporters-stranded-in-the-cold-for-hours-yet-again-after-rome-georgia-rally

It is probably less a strategy and more the general lack of competence we can see erupt all around Trump.
As a service to other metric users (since i had to look it up), 42°F is 5.5°C, 46°F is 7.8°C.

And I don't think the former will disparage anybody of the base to vote for him.
Being a bit hyperbolic with petri dish here.

Not that hyperbolic. I think a paper came out of Stanford University that estimated 30,000 infected and 700 dead because of his rallies? They're really a perfect storm because he's been pretending covid isn't serious and discouraging masks from the very beginning. So it's thousands of people packed together who were already primed for high risk behavior.

Yeah I hope I'm remembering the number correctly, and of course they're estimates. But it's indisputable how reckless and irresponsible he has been. I'm curious too how much his time spent campaigning compares to past presidents. With the amount of rallies he is doing I don't see how he has time to do his job.
