After a long day at work, where your boss has been a total tool (as usual) What's your favorite biccie to sit down with a nice cup of tea or coffee?
I was going to list all biscuits of the world (wikipedia has a nice list) But sadly there's not enough options, not even enough for all the UK biscuit types alone! If your favorite isn't on the list, mention it in a reply and will add it.
Poll: Favorite biscuit type?(Vote): Digestives (Vote): Hobnobs (Vote): Custard Cream (Vote): Rich Tea (Vote): Jammy Dodger (Vote): Jaffa Cake (Vote): Bourbon Creams (Vote): Ginger Nuts (Vote): Shortbread Fingers (Vote): Abernethy Biscuits (Vote): Choc Chip Cookies (Vote): Chocolate Fingers (Vote): Penguins (Vote): Chocolate Caramel Wafer (Vote): Golden Crunch Creams (Vote): Malted Milk Biscuits (Vote): Milk Chocolate Tea Cakes (Vote): Garibaldi Biscuits (Vote): Pink Wafers (Vote): Cafe Noir (Vote): Blue Riband
Not on the list, but voted for;
1 - Arnotts Raspberry Teacakes 1 - Butter Pecan 1 - Carrs Water Biscuit 1 - Cheddar Biscuits 2 - Danish Butter Cookies 1 - Eierkoek 1 - Gingerbread (or filled gingerbread) 2 - Ladyfingers 3 - Le petit ecolier (Little School Boy) 1 - Lotte Waffle Biscuit (롯데와플) 1 - Luxemburgerli 1 - Ma`amoul (معمول ) 1 - Parle-G 1 - Roudor 4 - Tim Tam 1 - Toruń gingerbread 3 - Total 1 - Shaobing 1 - Samoas (Girl Scout Samoas) 2 - Speculoos 1 - Social Tea Biscuits 1 - Sugar Cookies 2 - White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies

Well we could tally up all those not on the list too!
|
I live in the US and never heard of any of these, except for Jammy Dodgers that a friend brought over when he finished a semester abroad. It tasted pretty good.

I like a bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit so that? idk what a biscuit is lol
|
|
|
American here so I don't really share the same zest for biscuits (or even know of any brands). The hilarious amount of different biscuits made me lol. Curious how you pronounce biccie. Is it bicky (bic-y)?

It's an England-cookie.
I mean, in Amerika, we have nutri-grain bars with the fruit in the middle.

Not really going to google all of these :/ I thought biscuits were universal, but apparently they're not.
Edit: Actually I just googled a few, and it seems only names aren't universal, the language of biscuits is however.

Seconded for TimTams please

My favorite biscuit is total.

No speculoos in the poll

Jaffa Cakes aren't a biscuit, they're a cake.
It was decided in court and everything.
edit: ninjad :o
edit 2: not ninjad, just somehow missed the post before mine.

This one has been one of my favourites for a while (but than with the sugar only, salt is too what, why for me)
My all time favourite snack/dough/pastryfood however, even though it's not technically a biscuit is the Eierkoek. Godly taste. Even better with butter smeared onto it.
I really like all kind of biscuits though, as long as it's not too dry, would like to find some snickerdoodles or some stuff over here. Basically all we have over here that's foreign is brownies and muffins (in supermarkets) other than that it's big brand cookies and chocolate and candy (which is okay too I guess haha)

Chocolate Digestives or Garibaldi if I'm just having a biscuit. Ginger Nuts in tea. So good. Then you end up with ginger tea. The best.

Little delivery boy ~ Let petit ecolier

Chocolate Hob Nobs
I do like Blue Ribands too.

I pitty you all for not living in the Czech Republic. I travel a lot and wherever I go I mourn the lack of our Czech sweet products after a couple of days. Most of "bisquits", "cookies" and whatnot sold anywhere else are fucking inedible. We have so much variety, so much choice and almost everything that has a tradition - not the ugly new stuff imported from the West by chain stores, but original Czech recipies - is absolutely fantastic. Aside from bisquits, we have also unrivaled chocolate bars (Mars, Snickers, etc... are disgusting compared to Czech products).
If you are into packaged sweets, you just need to come and let me show you, until then the poll has no meaning.

YES, holy shit can't believe I forgot about those. These also belong in the godlike department.
|
some of my favorite cookies:
-White Chocolate Macadamia Nut -Triple Chocolate Chip (chocolate cookie + chocolate chips + fudge or chocolate chunks) -Raspberry or Strawberry Cheesecake chunk -Snickerdoodles, so long as they are still warm from fresh baking, are orgasmic. Basically a cinnamon-sugar sugar cookie. -The little soft microwaveable Chips Ahoy! chocolate chip cookies -those chocolate dipped caramel/coconut cookies. The only way I can stand to eat coconut whatsoever, the sweetness of the coconut meat just fits perfectly.
I am aware that the term "biscuit" in England includes more than just cookies, such as what we call Fig Newtons (a type of snack cake here), but I don't know all what it encompasses. What are some other types of baked goods/pastries that you blokes include along with cookies as "biscuits," for those of you that know?

Rich tea or chocolate digestives but since it is december right now filled gingerbread:

Chicken Biscuit...wait what?

Butter Pecan no contest. But Rainbow Cookies(the ones with the M&M's) fuck yeah.
Danish cookies should be disallowed as everyone just eats the Pretzel shapes first.

A controversial suggestion: Jaffa Cakes.

Put my vote down for total.

Can't recognize almost anything from the list, only Chocolate fingers and digestives wich are both very yummy, it's so different with cookies and cakes depending on what country you live in.

I remember the disappointment of opening one of those and finding crap like that in there... Those things are delicious.
Probably more of those tins with crap in them than cookies at this point though haha.

I have this white chocolate peppermint tea, and I find it pairs well with a light, crispy cookie/biscuit, so I guess whichever biscuits are most like that.
Wish I had some right now to pair with my Christmas tea. :d
