The purpose of it was to stop bots from mass mailing people, since it is harder for bots to extract letters out of a noisy background. But I heard that they found a way to counteract that - by having people help them type the letters in the image for them, in return for access to porn. funny in a bad way... since it contributes to junk mail and all. | ||
