It just needs to come out, every day it's not out is another day it falls behind LoL. But it isn't free. FREE is the magic word this days DOTA2 will be free, it simply has to be given the competitive environment. TF2 going F2P was obviously Valve testing out their F2P system and ideas for how to monetize DOTA2. Oh really? WOOHOO, hell yeah I am going to play it

Your bias is blinding your view. LoL is easier, but for you to judge a game solely on that, is simply silly. Let's go back a few years, where SC2 has just been announced and over the next year, we will receive scattered reports about the development of SC2: Wings of Liberty. We find out about automine, smartcast, etc. You will find a community divided over the fact that this new game, Sc2, is easier than its predecessor, BW. Wait until LoL dies, and it's successor seems more casual, their community will do the same exact thing. The point is that the game you follow right now, the same discussions occurred in large numbers. LoL is fun to a lot of people, and while I prefer DOTA, I realize LoL is a fun game, and it's not terrible to watch. Perhaps Sc2 is the best spectator sport, but when Blizzard takes money from tournaments, require license and fees, and refuses to add key features, you can expect a game like LoL who has money pouring into it to takeover. Kotaku isn't a reliable source, but if you say LoL isn't very popular, you are in extreme denial.

this is just proof that even in korea people are getting more and more retarded as the years go by.....you have to be completely braindead to ejoy such a skilless joke of a game as lol is. gaming and esports are really going to fall apart like this.

That is just sad.
But enjoy it while you can, DOTA 2 is coming soon so it will replace this shitty game no offense.

Also, DOTA2 is going to have trouble because Blizzard is attacking it in court.
Blizzard wants Blizzard DOTA to be the new DOTA, despite putting even less effort into that than they put into SC2 Battle.net.
Blizzard is going to ruin SC2 and DOTA2 esports because the greedy suits running them have no idea how the market has changed, and that their foolish money grabs are actually going to cost them money.

As much as I like sc2, elitist who thinks a game shouldn't be called a esport just because it is easy should look at brood war and sc2 and realise sc2 shouldn't be called a esport too. its stupid, there is no such thing as "oh it got to be this difficult to be called esports" rule.

LoL is more difficult than SC2 for the very simple reason that you are dealing with 5v5 people.
It isn't just learning what is what, what works, what doesn't, etc, etc, etc. It is about working together and playing off one another.
That adds a layer of complexity that just doesn't exist in SC2 and probably never will.
But if it is such a noob casual easy game, feel free to jump over and steal that 2 million dollar prize. Must be a steal right? It is so easy.

I think its just the name not the game itself, they can just change the name if its so much trouble actually

DotA 2 is in all honesty the only MOBA that has a chance of competing with LoL. The whole game of LoL is designed around accessibility. That doesn't really mean that the skill ceiling is low at all, it's just very easy for new players to get into. It is able to draw a very large audience that way, especially with Riot supporting the E-sports side.
And as far as tournaments go, the game is still young and the best playstyle doesn't really exist. IEM Hannover has shown us that unpredictable bans/picks and versatility in your comps are way more important. And thus, especially in the games with M5 (the eventual winner of IEM Hannover), the games were exciting from beginning to end. No boring farm phases. Which reminded me off DotA's constant ganks and plays.
I tried HoN once, and couldn't make out anything. The graphic style is just abysmal. DotA 2 is a lot clearer on that. Along with LAN mode, good replay and spectator possibilities and possibly Valve pushing E-sports DotA 2 could be a very good candidate to take on LoL.

If Blizzard wins the name, they'll force Valve to change the name of DOTA2 or else pay Blizzard money. Valve will have to redesign a bunch of DOTA2 to avoid infringement, further delaying it and giving LoL an even bigger lead. Blizzard DOTA will still be the worst MOBA even if they steal the name DOTA2.

True.
And ppl are actually playing LoL, because its much eaiser not to learn anything or gain skill, unlike in Dota. But in each realm there are ppl, who are better than the others, even in potatoes peeling. Thats the key.

Not owned by anyone. The problem is if Valve wins the name, Blizzard may get sued over Blizzard Dota, which is why they are trying to stop Valve from trademarking it.

so nice how all the wannabepros flame about how easy LoL is , but guys you want esports to grow , that means that more casuals will join the gamercommunity and for that reason there wont be another game like sc:bw because its too hard for the majority of the gamers.
|
The idea that LoL takes no skill is such a joke. Mastering the mechanics is much easier than in SC, but the difference between top tier teams and casual players is still absolutely gigantic.
I'm happy to see the game thrive, though I think DOTA2 is going to supplant it if DOTA2 is also F2P

Gotta laugh at this community going here, I thought you guys were all about promoting ESPORTS no matter what game or how easy (Supposedly) it is.
The sad thing is the majority of people posting 'loleasy game' here probably arent even rated over 1000 in ranked games, yet its suppoesdly an easygame?
The game is easy to get into and learn plus its free, thats why it is the most popular game going atm (Minor WoW) But it still takes quite a bit of skill and knowledge invested into the game to be good, not to mention you have to coordinate with four other people.
