No, using hacks are retarded since it eliminates the purpose of competitive gaming. Hackers usually are dumb people tho...

Yeah, in D2 open bnet like pretty much 99% of the players there as well as using a trainer for SC2 campaign. Goes without saying I'm playing with my second copy of sc2 now, lol.

I used to play Runescape back in the day (please don't judge lol), and I remember working really hard getting to 80 fishing, then i realised a machine can do it for me so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was young a such a fool... but a rich one

Yes, I used maphack in D2 multiplayer to do Meph runs back in 2003/2004.

Turns out my CD key actually got banned for that at some point between then and now. Who knew.

There's a lot of D2 only in here.
Has anyone done things like cheat engine smaller games like bejeweld, bit.trip, flash games etc?

I maphacked warcraft 3 for a while, never on ladder though.

D2 maphack obviously, which everyone used back in the day. I recently played D2 again for 2/3 months and most decent players are even botting now with 7 chars. So I did the same thing =P

I once got banned on VAC also in CS1.6, cause the best way to check someone had wallhack is to download a wallhack yourself and watch his demo with wallhack on. And I forgot to turn it off when I joined a public.

I think its the feeling that you get that makes you feel like a good player or something.. cuz youre beating players better than you, using hacks.. but aimbotting and speedhacking i dont see the sense in that... guess its just for fun?

Yes, when I got sick of playing counter-strike normally I resorted to hacks and ghosting with my best friend. This was around 1.4 probably 2000 or 2001, the last time I ever played CS.

My friend and I were really really good at that game, too good for most public servers. Funnily enough, my legit account got banned on more servers than my hacking account it seems. I got kind of tired of having to dumb down my playing so that people didn't accuse me. So rather than find some organized team or legit server I just decided to hack in random servers. Though I did not use aim bots, they actually made my kdr worse. It was hard to let go of my natural skills and let the aimbot take over. Too awkward.

Things we did:

-Led team mates into ambushes via ghosting.
-Used the extra gore hack that made people splatter blood like Mortal Kombat when you shot them (client side only tho).
-Wall hack made sniping extremely easy you could see them coming around corners n shit obviously.
-There was one map with a multi-storied house in a mountain ravine (forgot the name). The CTs started far away and had to run through some caves and ravines to the house to rescue hostages. My buddy and I would get on the roof of the house and just shoot down through it at all the Ts then knife each other to low hp and suicide jump off the house.
-Instant team spawn-kill with aimbot and m249. My friend would do the same to his team. We would then meet in the middle of the map and goof off.
-Smoke grenade abuse, we could see through it.
-Grenading choke points at exactly the right time.

I have no shame. Making white knight nerds rage and foam at the mouth was hilarious. It was fun, but not as fun as playing a legit game against good players, which was super rare.

I would do it again if I could. If you ever saw somebody with an [iTe] tag it was us. It meant In The Eye, some catchphrase we used occasionally.

I also hacked in Brood War and had a separate account for it. And I wasn't as active doing it there as at that time I kind of got bored of gaming in general and stopped playing all together.

Come on, everybody tried them out in Counter Strike! They made for a few funny games, but longterm use was boring, so I don't understand why people saw any appeal to them longterm.

In an online multiplayer game, never.

In single player games, I pretty much only use cheats to make the game harder. Things like /players 8 in D2, putting the "enemy levels up" cheat in 5 consecutive times in Gladius or using 007 mode in Goldeneye to make it so that all enemies have perfect accuracy and kill you in 1 hit...

The one exception was the konami code in Contra. I used to use that until I got good enough to beat the game legitly.

I am probably responsible for ruining the Throne of Darkness community by basically teaching too many people how to completely break the game. Think a million percent damage reflect, magic aoes that last forever basically, etc.

In the old CAL days I had a separate steam account with wallhacks to find good spam spots during practice (since they don't make every map with a clearwalls variant).

But that was just in practice.
