But they cant do any of that to them due to "Human Rights" crappy laws the EU make. You send 1 to jail you have a civil war erupt in your country. They defend themselves to the extreme thats why they are left alone and left to grow.
European Union is the problem and forever will be in my eyes.

Any1 watched big fat gypsy wedding? Can see lots and lots of racism towards them in that series (this is in UK and Ireland tho i believe).

Actually I'm glad that when Romania was added in the European Union, many gypsies stopped "plaguing Romania" and they decided to go and plague other European countries.
I see no solution for gypsies, since their numbers is rapidly increasing.
Since the economical situation is going worse, it's way harder for a normal family to decide to have many kids. But for gypsies that's not a problem even if they don't have food or shelter, they have like 10+ kids. And those kids will do the same, their numbers are growing exponentially.
In 300 years, I bet there will be way more Gypsies then Romanians in Romania at least.

Ethnic groups in Romania: 89.5% Romanians, 6.6% Hungarians, 2.5% Gypsies, 2% Others
I bet that now in 2011, there are at least 5% Gypsies, because they are breeding like rats, and only very very very very VERY VERY VERY very very very few will even attend schools.
The vast majority continues they gypsies legally, pick pocketing/robbing/begging.

Yea, I know them. I've faced their ignorance and lack of manners and understanding of basical societal norms countless times and I've been damn close to getting robbed/beaten up. Everyone I know has similar experiences with them, especially the few gypsies who are actually trying not to be like the rest.

I was homeless when I came to France for the first time. So yes, I've been in contact with those people. And yes, they're human beings. Not rats.

I remember back in February this year when I changed my ID, there were many gypsies sitting at the line to get their ID, and were like 15 persons with the same "adress", and they were fingerprinted by the local police, because they didn't knew to write/read.
I know that this isn't for TL, but I just saw the gypsies thread... so yeah.
I don't hate them, but they just don't belong, and will never get integrated into a normal society because they don't want to, and you can't force anyone in a democracy.

The only negative stereotype i know of Irish gypsies is the semi-humourous "i'll paint your house but look out, i might steal the ladder" kind of thing. They would often do odd jobs for a bit of cash-in-hand if you "treated them right" but could be trouble if you didn't. My grandad (who was Irish) used to have no qualms about travellers (which is another important difference; english/irish ones tend to move around afaik) stopping off on his land for a week or two. It's a very different situation.

Kukaracha, I think you're the one who doesn't know who gypsies are and how they function. If you knew the facts, you wouldn't be talking the way you're talking.
90% of them DO fit the stereotype.
On the other hand, most of us here would probably be perfectly happy living alongside a NORMAL gypsy.

You could simply exchange black for gypsy in the majority of statements in this thread and you wouldn't miss a beat.
Having said that, marginalizing an entire group of people based on the actions of a few (or even a majority) is always wrong.

There are ways to go about the world, there are ways not to go about the world.
Life is tough not easy no one said it was easy. First of all you get an education, then you get a job. Without education you fail to land a reasonable/good job. But there is still jobs out there that pay with limited education needed.
You came to France and were without a home, now you clearly have a home or access to the internet and a computer. This tells me you either got a job from the education you had or you used the goverment who helped u get education and a job.
Gypsies live off themselves and by themselves not accepting help and making there own rules. There is nothing FAIR about that. Why should they be able to do what they want now because no one will stand up to them. That is called Terrorism (Terrorising people to get your own way)
