You can get in a lot of trouble for having one, so definitely be careful when using it.
The places my friends use it are places where they don't scan it, and sometimes don't even bother to ask for ID.
Also, if you're using one, be sure to know the information printed on it (ifyour name/area code/etc are different) because I know a few people who have been asked their area codes or addresses because the cashier suspected it was fake.
An alternative that works is to use a real ID of someone who looks like you and is over 21, though only a few of my friends use this because it's a lot more difficult to obtain.

She got busted because of the way she acted when the question was asked, not because she didn't know what her horoscope sign was.

What's the 'V' in your middle name stand for? Victor? Too bad it says here it's an 'H'.

Don't go to high end clubs, go to bars and shady places. There you are much less likely to get problems from the guy who checks you ID.
Know what horoscope sign you have and how old you are supposed to be. Mostly, just appear calm, like you do this everyday.

Something I might add as well is that worrying about what a bouncer might ask is an unnecessary headache, because the question he asks is irrelevant. He will judge if your ID is fake or not by how you act and the manner in which respond to the question he just asked.
Sure, not every bouncer is a genius at reading people, and you don't have to be either. It just takes basic knowledge and experience and you learn the classic signs of a kid with a fake ID.
The question doesn't matter, it's how you respond to the question that will give you away, not that you didn't know the answer.

Hahaha, I know people who've tried to get 'passports' from other nations so that they aren't checked out as fully. Suffice to say, it rarely ever works.

In DK you can buy beer at age 16 in shops, 18 for harder liquor and to go to bars... It is public knowledge that thursday = 16 year olds in every single bar, some places even 14 year olds. And really, it isn't that bad of a mess ^^
Personally I've never been ID'ed (even when I was 16, then again I didn't go to bars too often), yet my 8 years older sister (who is now 30) gets ID'ed EVERY single time without fault - which is pretty hilarious

I've never seen anyone asked anything at a bar, including plenty of people with fake IDs. This is from 7 years of bar-going experience. Where are you from?
|
Like everyone else has said, it's all about being confident about your fake age and story. Obviously you should know whatever info the card says on it but by fast the most important thing is to act like you belong there and go every day.
Don't be nervous or unsure even if you are, the key thing is to be cool.

That doesn't make any sense at all.
I'm getting the impression that people are going through an unnecessary and needless amount of effort in order to get a fake ID. Why bother with that when you can just keep all the information EXACTLY the same, and just change your age by two or three digits? You already know everything about you, and the bouncer doesn't know how old you really are because you've never met him before.
If I made a fake ID, it would have exactly my details on it and I would be one or two years older. If you're 19 and it says you're 21 the bouncer can't tell the difference by just looking at you. If it's a fake ID and they catch you they'll either keep you there until it's confirmed to be real and they let you go or they keep you there and you get arrested (or whatever they do) for having a fake ID.
Why would I go through the unnecessary headache of having to study my fake ID when I already know myself and now I'm magically just a bit older. What high school did you graduate from? You say the school you're currently going to. What did you study? You say what you're studying now. What college do you go to? I don't go to college, I work in a grocery store.
Can someone educate me on the logic behind becoming "another person" on the fake ID? Because I can't understand it. If you get caught you're fucked either way, even if your name isn't really McLovin.

I have a real id but I'm in ny. Mostly they will ask your zip code or addrsss.

lol? Does it matter if I have 1 post or 1000, or what my first post is? My opinion is retarded because I don't think underage kids should go to clubs? Ya okay guys encourage this kid to break the law. You guys are cool. If you're mad about the law and disagree why don't you go do something about it. Until then the law still stands and what that kid is trying to do is illegal.

Yeah, a beer is too much responsibility before 21, but carrying a gun in a foreign country with an American flag on your shoulder? No problem.
As long as the kid is willing to take the consequences if he gets caught, it's his decision.

You should just wait until you're 21, and save yourself a lot of potential headache.
Really, in all seriousness, bars and strip clubs aren't worth it.
It's a question of risk vs. benefit, and the benefit doesn't outweigh the potential consequences.
Assuming you are intelligent, wise, and reasonable enough not to do something ridiculously stupid like drive drunk, you're probably smart enough to figure out that there's really not much fun to be had other than getting drunk.

^IMO it's worth it. Don't know if the nightlife is bad where you are, but I've had most of my fun nights out drinking with friends. My birthdate made me lose out of tons of fun when all my other friends went out to the bars and clubs, and had I known where to get a fake ID I wouldn't have batted an eyelid to do it.

"Doing something about it" includes getting a fake ID. If you're 19, chances are you can't single-handedly change the law in a convenient amount of time (as in well before you're 21).
One opinion is that every law is correct and should be followed. The wrong opinion that is. And people are doing plenty to warn him of the consequences, and I'm sure he knows them. I don't think anyone has endorsed breaking the law, just discussed the risks, implications, consequences, what to expect when doing it, etc.
Notice there is a thread here called "High Thread" and that is likewise about something illegal.

I personally think its more about the demeanour and how convincing and mature you act and look. If you look like some shifty, sweaty teen then you will be scrutinized. Then it won't matter what questions they ask, if you are flustered you will mess up.
I got carded when I was 30 in the US

You need to know your name, initials forwards and backwards, whether you're an organ donor, and all the things you listed. Honestly though, you really need a second form of ID with the same name as your fake. A credit card, school ID, or probably even a library card would do. You'll be asked for two forms of ID if they doubt your credibility.
Enforcement varies greatly from place to place, so there's no way to be sure. They might not even care.
