Alright I am sick of warning people: Trolling, flame baiting, and derailing will result in insta bans. The same goes for conspiracy theorists and stupidity generally.
Confirmation was as follows - On-site DNA test which came back as 99% positive. - photos of face sent to CIA and confirmed with photo analysis - confirmed by 20 year old wife who live in pakistan.
This thread is specifically dedicated to the details surrounding the raid/his death.

Im sure all the Highly trained special forces from the top countries are more or less equal.
If you want to be objective, it's safe to call US Special Operations Forces "the best". They aren't necessarily better athletes or smarter men with larger hearts, but they are better funded. That's the difference. Training, at this point, is streamlined and compatible between SAS and US SF etc, so you really can't compare in that regard... But with regard to money, you can. The US has drastically increased funding for SOF since 2001 - annual expenditures on SOF now far exceed that of British & other nations.
It´s funny how you NORTH americans think that Osama Bin Laden was the one to cause 9/11. You are too easy to brain-wash. Did you know he was friend with Bush Sr. and the U.S. government. Also, have you EVER received another attack than 9/11?. And I mean on U.S important citys like 9/11 was. It was an inside job for the U.S to enter the middle east with the excuse to find Osama and " kill the bad guys" while stealing their oil and their goods. I´m not saying this to minimize the U.S, it´s a great country but it´s funny how you are all brainwashed.

I heard something (probably not reliable) that Australia had some of the best training? Lol, not that that means they have better special forces teams but yeah. Confirm anyone? Just curious.
The Australian special forces are held in very high regard by the other countries fighting in Afghanistan. Same goes for the British and some others.
They're all interchangeable. Each has it strengths but they're all the best of the best and you couldn't go wrong choosing one over the other.
Yeah true, sort of like top SC2 pros. They're all insanely good but can take games off each other too. Except Idra of course ^^

Australia has good training but to suggest any country other than the US has the best Special Forces is ridiculous. Israel would probably second.
I was in second grade when the Challenger exploded. It was something terrible and everyone was experiencing it together. In some ways it was my first "adult" experience, because I learned the world was sometimes a pretty horrible place (it was similar for the Tienanmen square massacre).
For a kids who are in college now were just 8-12 when 9/11 happened. Their entire adolescence and adulthood has experienced an America going though this decade-long, depressed, impotent funk. This is like V-Day, or the fall of the Berlin wall or at least the Miracle on Ice.

At that point, it's probably more likely that better/larger/more effective intelligence networks, surveillance, and networking is more important.
Those pictures from the US Naval Academy are great!

[Updated, 12:24 a.m. ET] A team of U.S. Navy SEALs carried out the operation in Pakistan that ended in the death of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, CNN's Chris Lawrence reported. The operation lasted about 40 minutes, and the team had practiced the raid a few times.
from cnn live update.
Imagine being that team and training for a mission like that?? talk about intense
Yes, intense indeed. There are about ~3,000 men like that, and perhaps another few thousand similar, from other outfits like the PJs, CCs, green berets, rangers, marsoc, force recon, etc. The reality is, the mission was typical for them. They train to this much and far more, everyday. They'll be back at it tomorrow, mark my words.
I'm not disagreeing with you in any way but I believe the point trying to be made was how many times does that mission actually involve the (former) number 1 most wanted man in the world? It makes you a little more nervous, or it seems like it should.
These guys are so well-trained that nervousness wouldn't mess them up. We're talking the best special forces team in the world here.
Not to take away from a fantastic team but I think Mossad teams rival (and probably exceed) any U.S. special forces in sheer ability.
Stuff and nonsense. What do you mean by ability?
1) This operation did not involve U.S. Special Forces. It involved SEALs - members of the Special Operations Forces community. Not Special Forces. Special Forces fulfill a different role, and that role is not perfectly interchangeable with that of SEALs, nor is it interchangeable with that of PJs, Rangers, and so on.
2) SEALs are among the best in the world concerning objective Direct Action/Conventional capability. Operators serving with Mossad teams are likely skilled and drawn from other Special Operations Forces sectors within the Israeli military, but there is no objective reason to call them better. Perhaps too many movies? Fact of the matter is, SEALs undergo multiple multi-week long shooter schools, including multiple schools teaching CQB techniques incorporating almost every weapons system into the courses.
3) Mossad is akin to CIA - aka, paramilitary, and not military. They operate in close conjunction, and many times Mossad/CIA will draw upon SEALs/Rangers/etc to fulfill Direct Action roles. Example: CIA and CAG - Combat Activities Group (Special Activities Division, CIA) & Delta
My apologies, the original post I was responding indicated Special Forces, not the SEALs. And as for the last part, I keep hearing the Delta Force moniker bandied about; is that Delta or something else? I later said I don't know that much about official designations or separations, I just trust the Mossad more because otherwise Israel probably wouldn't still exist.
Delta force, is a "secret" special forces group, if they were sent in it's likely that the government wouldn't admit it.
