Keep it civil guys.
Alright I am sick of warning people: Trolling, flame baiting, and derailing will result in insta bans. The same goes for conspiracy theorists and stupidity generally.
Confirmation was as follows - On-site DNA test which came back as 99% positive. - photos of face sent to CIA and confirmed with photo analysis - confirmed by 20 year old wife who live in pakistan.
This thread is specifically dedicated to the details surrounding the raid/his death. |

It must have touched you because you believe the whole movie. Lets say all that was true guess what happened today? Osama bin Laden was announced dead. You know what else would happen? A celebration!! Everyone here on TL is pretty smart and not your average forum. You might want to try that argument on some other Forum maybe a SOUTH american one it might work there.
Did you try to imply:
1.-The Mexico is part of SouthAmerica? 2.- That for some reason South Americans are less smart?
God, his comment was retarded but you are just countering stupidity with more stupidity

Based on the fact that he was living in a populated part of Pakistan, the special forces would've had to be undercover -- that is, they're probably brown-skinned, culturally-trained, etc.
And regarding who they specifically are: it doesn't really matter, because we won't ever know for sure. If it was a black ops group, the government won't say it. They'll credit someone like the SEALS.

So much celebration going on out in the streets :O

No, rather, he was merely poking fun at the poster's stupid emphasis of NORTH, as if to imply what you just implied the responding poster had implied. Do you see what I'm implying?

For a kids who are in college now were just 8-12 when 9/11 happened. Their entire adolescence and adulthood has experienced an America going though this decade-long, depressed, impotent funk. This is like V-Day, or the fall of the Berlin wall or at least the Miracle on Ice. Not really. This is ultimately only a symbolic victory, nothing really substantive or game-changing. Which is why I listed the fall of the Berlin wall and the Miracle on Ice, which were both symbolic victories.
Meh, I guess I've just become too jaded about the whole "War on Terror" thing, because I'm honestly quite apathetic. Yeah, it's a good thing the fucker's dead, but Osama hasn't seemed relevant to me for years.

Hooray! :D
This news makes me so happy because it represents the culmination of massive international efforts to remove an international criminal!
Hooray to a degree of closure! :D

Haha, what was your first thought? You must've at least had a random guess or two as to what was going on... First thoughts upon seeing the madness?

So apparently oil prices have dropped and stocks have jumped sharply after this announcement was made.

Because he isn't,but atleast all the billion of dollars and thousands of lives lost (besides 9/11) while looking for the person didn't go completely to waste and the US was able to produce results...If only it was this simple to end terrorism.Kill the "leader" and be done with it...Atleast it will give the families closure. That's worth something....Maybe?

Same here. The thing about this whole thing is that all of the celebration I've seen seems completely facetious, so I have trouble seeing it as a "Berlin wall" or "Miracle on Ice" sort of event. Maybe it's just because I only get exposed to the college kid demographic, but no one seems to derive much serious joy from this.

10 years, 2 wars, 919,967 deaths, $1,188,263,000,000 later, all for one man. Was it worth it?

I'm not here to prove anything to anybody. I just enjoy being spit on because my opinion and my information rarely line up with what the big shiny screen and the men in suits so adamantly inform us. Adds some spice to the thread:
