fish video was hair raising. Thats absolutely brutal. Yes i eat meat and livestock are treated horribly blahblah, so an argument of hypocrisy can be made, but that fish thing crossed a line for me @_@.

I start to eat these animals when a very young boy. Very common in France. I thought it was common in other countries. Btw, i've eaten Ostrich(very good), bison (good too), kangooroo(i realy dont like it...maybe a bad cooking that make me feel like it, or i drunk too much the day i tasted it...), crocodile steak (very tender, i love it) Of course, i'm french, so...i use to eat some weird things for u, but very common for me : snails, frog's legs, many sorts of mushrooms, tartar steak, salmon's tartar, pig's feets, pig's ear's, cow's tongue, cow's and veal's liver,... You won't really find pigeon or rabbit in most restaurants, though they can be found in good Chinese restaurants as well as in Asian or gourmet supermarkets. I think people are just averse to eating cute bunnies, since they've become more known as pets these days. And people probably carry a stigma about pigeon being a city bird, but yeah you basically only buy the farm-raised ones.

FYI, thats basicly normal dish in Vietnam, we eat them occasionally during lunch or dinner, to add some we eat most of pig and chicken's organ, snake, some kind of worm, dog, pig blood, duck blood, rabbit, cat, pigeon. Its always funny for me to start to discuss with all my foreign friends about what we eat in Vietnam, it may sound disgusting to you but believe me Vietnamese make the best meal out of what i just list and we dont eat them alive. If you not have any restriction due to religion or belief, I strongly recommend that you have a chance you should really go to asia to eat different type of meat, cause they are everywhere, cheap, and so tasty.

kangaroo - too hard but was probably overcooked bear - very nice. braised with some chinese sauce but very expensive dog - too gamey... acidic... didn't like it snake - lean but not fiber stuckinyourteeth lean, really good, like chicken grasshoppers - you wouldnt even know youre eating them. good shit snails - with mashed potatoes and garlic butter? -the shit- eel - my favourite fish behind salmon and sea bass. melt in your mouth frog - like chicken but softer pigeon - oh man that dark meat flavour is so good donkey - like beef but softer, more flavour sea urchin - nice but didnt live up to the hype and definitely not the pricetag sea cucumber - slimey piece of sponge not worth price jellyfish - crunchy and bouncey. no taste except for sesame sauce served in deer - pretty good, but was cut very thin so couldnt really tell moose - pretty good, but was also cut up so couldnt really tell ants - fried so didnt taste like anything but salt and spices chicken feet - like eating chickenwing tips. i can nibble on them if im drinking but otherwise i dont really see the point.

WARNING: DO NOT OPEN! VERY GRAPHIC IMAGES! http://www.weirdasianews.com/2007/04/02/cannibalism-in-china-acceptable-if-for-health/ Yeah.. it's crazy. Also I think eating monkey brain alive is a normal practice in China/Vietnam if my memory is not mistaken. I've read some articles about it.

Black pudding (congealed pig's blood) is fairly common in the UK, not amazing but not the worst taste I've ever had in my mouth. Which sounds terrible. Also seconding those who said bison and ostrich are tasty. Yes they are.

Weirdest things I have eaten are chicken feet. I go to Korea all the time but I can't handle odd food. Had the worst time eating snails in Paris two years ago, for example.
