I don't see how mindless popcorn entertainment can even hope to compete with the likes of "There Will Be Blood" or "No Country for Old Men."
In the trailer, it said "before the dark knight rise, he will be broken", do you think they will actually have the ball to make Bane break batman's back ? Such a bold move... how will it do in the film I wonder.
Thats exactly what came to my mind when I read this. I believe they will. Would also make sense to have catwoman fill the hole left behind while batman is recovering (I doubt this will happen in the final stages of the movie).
Can somebody tell me more about Bane? What are his general motivations? Will he have any comrades? (like Ras al ghul and the joker, who had their own "armies", and a 1on1 or 2on2 with catwoman and holiday killer is not exactly how the last movies were; at least before the showdown of course).

To my understanding, but I'm no batman fan, just happen to read it from times to times, it seems Bane is a badass genious who got himself a drug that makes him more badass, but he is in here to make fun with batman just because he likes it: he is not a big villain who just want to kill people, but much more like Joker, an anarchic force searching for some fun and who don't care about right or wrong. Well fun isn't exactly a good match for bane, it is for the joker, let's say he is searching for someone to face, someone who can match his own power.

Those were two of the shittest movies I've seen in the last decade.

this is probably the best quality thus far:
underwhelming trailer? What?!!?!?!?
Thanks but by the time I'd clicked on it it had been removed. Those guys are fast

What a bullshit explanation - even if you're just a casual reader did you just pull that character biography out of your ass?

Those were from the last decade. And I assume you missed the part where he/she actually stated "It will be the best superhero movie".
Also, I have a hard time actually imagining anyone thinking that TDK was "mindless popcorn entertainment", for being a movie made for a mainstream audience, it was very dark, edgy and risky.

I just realised this as well, and you're totally right. If you look closely, in the 'BatMan' version you can still see half of the strings (which are being tightened in the other picture). All they did was crop it, they didn't even bother to take them out 0.o Definately gonna be a 2/10 movie JUST for that mishap [spoiler=no not really, still hyped about it, well that and doing a Harry Potter Marathon leading up to watching the 7th (:[/spoiler]

Good movies but far too slow and nothing happens. If your going to have a slow artistic movie like them at least have some sort of interesting point to make with the movie. Films like those and the hurt locker just serve as "film critic porn" rather than being great movies. Theres something to be said about "awful" movies like transformers that are actually fun to watch for 2 hours unless your got your super anal analytical mindset going into the film. Batman is a perfect blend of the two, sensible enough not to be a joke like transformers becuase it has good characters and decent dialogue, but some poetic license to realism to make it enjoyable with decent action scenes and epic plotlines.

There are *Fan* arts by the way. The people making the movie didn't do that...

Yes, I did, and not once did I need to think in order to still get what the plot was. Neither did it make me think afterwards. Basically the same thing happened to me with inception. I don't know if it's because of my being more used to reading books and watching series (you can make a lot more happen if you've got 10-20 hours of screen time instead of just 2.5) or because I wasn't quite as hyped for TDK as everyone else was, but I found TDK (and Inception) rather underwhelming, especially since a lot of people thought those movies to be among the best ever made. Hell, I didn't even find Ledger's acting all that impressive.
Christopher Nolan is one hell of a director in terms of action flicks, don't get me wrong. However, please don't compare him with greats as the Coen Brothers or Martin Scorsese. Nolan is not even on the same level in the same way Ledger pales in comparison to a Jack Nicholson or Daniel Day Lewis.
I also don't see how The Dark Knight was gritty and/or dark. For a hollywood movie, I guess so, but not for someone who's seen The Pacific or The Wind That Shakes The Barley. Those movies are gritty and dark, mainly because the stories they tell are rather accurately based on real facts.
