(Sorry girls, this is a man question)
Suppose that you walk into a bathroom to take a leak. Upon entering, you are faced with three urinals. Assume that to the left of the urinals is the bathroom wall, and to the right of the urinals is the wall of the first toilet stall. Which one do you take? Just state which one you would use most of the time under "normal" circumstances or whatever. Explanations are optional.
For me, I think I would take the middle one most of the time, just because I like having space on either side. I think I also might like "symmetric" arrangements of things, so that would be another reason.
EDIT: Assume all the urinals are all equally clean, usable, the same height, and unoccupied when you walk in.
Poll: Which urinal do you take?Left (782) 69% Right (249) 22% Middle (99) 9% 1130 total votes Your vote: Which urinal do you take? (Vote): Left (Vote): Middle (Vote): Right

Don't care which end but I'd prefer not to take the middle in case another person came... to maximize 'spread.'
Reminds me of a time a guy came into the room I was in complaining "When there are five urinals people should go to 1, 3, and 5. I just walked in and there were people at 1 and 4 WTF!?"
|
Umm, off topic...the hell is this? o.o
but anyway... :D
I'd vote other. Closest one to the door. Picking one besides the first one available is... weird to me.

I like the wall, it gives me a sense of security.. Know what is weird is when there are like 4 urinals, you take the the one near a wall and there are 3 available ones and the guy that walks in takes the nearest to you.. [you] [guy [empty] [empty] ... its like.. wtf.. edit: oh similar stories.

every young boy learns at a young age to respect the buffer zone. To not do so either means you are trying to check your neighbor's wang. Not cool

Can we assume that they are all equally clean, and that the bathroom is vacant? Is not, then I would pick the cleanest one, followed by the one furthest away from whoever else is using a urinal. However if they are all equally clean and there are no other people in the bathroom, I would pick the left because of a paranoid of someone looking over the top of the bathroom stall at me, or walking in and standing beside me because they want to use a urinal but I am using the middle one and they have no other choice but to stand next to me. I would also stand at a slight angle facing the wall.
|
Suppose one of the urinals is a "kids" one, I would take the first left that isnt lowered.
|
choosing a urinal is not a cognitive process for me ;-)

Pretty sure there was a study done on this but in a more 'polite' fashion - you'll find at take-away places people will almost always go to the left hand side for serving. I think it was done at DisneyLand or something like that, I'll try and find the details of it. Either way I would presume the same thing applies here.
Also: Weird question.

i go to the stall to piss so my dick doesnt touch the urinal cakes when i pee

Whoever votes for the middle one should be banned.

I know it's a reddit meme, and I shouldn't post these, but it applies so hard. + Show Spoiler + I would take the one closest to the wall. There's definitely an unspoken code about not making eye contact and NOT choosing the urinal directly next to someone else if there's other options. It seems men stop caring about these conventions once they hit the age of 50.

that's not a meme. That's a man code in existence well before the dawn of THE INTERNET
also, closet to wall always. minimize possible awkward conversations and wang spotting

Really depends on the direction I walk into it from. If I walked in from the side, probably the closest one, if I walked in directly, hmmm.. not sure.

I hate bathrooms with only two urinals. My college is like that =/ 4 stalls 2 urinals. I'll just use a stall.
