[Film] 5 Fast 5 Furious - Page 9

What I actually wanted to say though was that the popularity of the first Fast and the Furious was arguably a gigantic motivation for the creation of Need for Speed: Underground. A game I truly enjoyed with an excellent sequel. However they have never been able to get back to that exact same epicness. Most Wanted was the only thing that came close (and improved upon a lot of the aspects of the previous titles immensely). But it lacked the downtown metropolis, at night, racing through tiny corners, being able to upgrade everything and choose the brands for your parts etc. It's hard to say but there was just something so special about both undergrounds, maybe it was the time it was released in, but the total game felt so solid, worked so well. It's hard for me capture that total picture of awesomeness since I'm sure a big part of it comes from emotions, but I hope others can relate.

Now after Carbon (potential but to much stupid stuff mixed in and the totally changed gameplay with the corner drifting didn't have a lot of replay value),
ProStreet, Shift. (both feel like a bastard child to the arcade style, trying to change the franchise to a simulation)
Undercover (was decent but very bland).
World (like a bad Most Wanted in MMO form with a terrible grind, horrible crash mechanics/lag, it's free though).
And recently Hot Pursuit 2010 (which looks like one of those old games where the roads are almost straight and only bend, not make actual corners) .

I really hope that the popularity of these movies will spark the same desire to create something that is truely worthy of carrying the title of Underground 3.
