I think I just died a little bit on the inside. That's a pretty strong reaction to a pretty harmless little comment.
You ok?
Need to take a breather?

Why are you guys being such dicks, he was trying to help and you guys should seriously fuck off I mean I found this topic very informative and I enjoyed it he was not being dead serious saying I WOULD MAKE A+ AND NOBODY CAN DOUBT ME he was saying that he would be doing well if his focus was starcraft.

What are the map reqs for SWAT again? I haven't been playing Halo recently - I don't have the time to really play lots of matches and get better, plus I haven't downloaded the map packs. I only played SWAT a few times at a friends house, but maybe I'll start playing again.
Also, Halo 3 isn't the most difficult game in terms of just having a solid shot. It's really having a good teammates and playing with good teamwork that wins the games - having good setups and such. That being said, I don't think it's as difficult as some other FPS's, but all of this gaming elitism is retarded anyway.

you need 2 map packs downloaded, 1 of them is free the other unless it has changed recently cost like 600 points or something.
edit: actually not really "recently", i have turned on my xbox like 2 times during the last year lol.

Man, I loved Halo 3 beta, and then they changed so much shit that made it great and the actual game sucked. The problem is that Halo 3 is often a coin toss. I don't know if it's because so many people have shitty connections or something, but I have videos and have seen videos of guys taking four shots to the face and living, and then killing the other person. I've hit people with the sword in the back to have them turn around and kill me with the shotgun, and I've shot sword users with the shotgun and died to the sword. I've lost shotgun battles when I'm the first person to shoot, which shouldn't happen when you both shoot from the same range. I've had three sniper shots go through a person's face and not kill them, and had their bullet miss wide right/left and kill me. I've seen a guy take five sniper shots, and not die.
I loved Halo, I loved Halo 2 (despite it's massive amount of flaws), and I have stopped playing Halo 3 because it is just so fucking terrible. And I wasn't bad at the game either. When it first came out, my friend and I went to upper 40's very quickly, getting matched against actual pro players and beating some of them and keeping up with most of them (of course, we got our asses handed to us several times). The point is, I've spent a lot of time playing the game, more than most people probably, and was absolutely an above average player, yet we got screwed out of wins because the game didn't work properly. I suck at it now, because I play once a month, if that, but I can't fully express how incredibly disappointed I am in that game.
Oh, and to everyone calling it a skill-less game, I'd like to see you just pick it up and start competing with people even at my level. No, it's not as hard as a PC game is to play, it never will be. And no, it's not the best competitive FPS out there, but it's nowhere near as easy as some of you make it out to be. And the auto-aim is not as drastic as you make it out to be. It's not like it zaps it to the opponents head regardless of where you are. Missed shots are very common.

As quantified and presented in this thread on MLGPro: http://www.mlgpro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=198153

I've played with Sweetlemons and can vouch for everything he said with my own experiences.
What Halo 3 needs is something like iccup and a chaos launcher, except on 360 and won't get you banned asap.

no kidding. first thing I noticed when I played it the day before release was how much weaker the aim assist was in H3 (brought up on H2). Remember sweep/swipe sniping? A little bit harder to pull off in H3. That + the motion blur effect when changing view quickly makes it a very different experience from H2's almost robotic, fast-paced feel.
why all the hate on the Halo series anyway? I;m sure plenty feel that RTS games like Age of Empires are inferior to Starcraft, and there are a multitude of opposed camps in the world of RPGS, but people still play them for fun and not competition. In fact, "fun" is part of the definition of what makes a game a game and not a task. and forget this competitive crap. If game designers could make the perfect competitive FPS in the world it would only appeal to those elitist competitve FPS players anyway, so why bitch about a game that's good to play just for fun?
I don't really understand the Halo/checkers analogy. I never really played Halo:CE on a high level but the way the weapons were reminds me of a game of rock/paper/scissors more than chess really. Halo 2 is basically an even playing field for everybody so long as you knew how to *really* play the game, so I guess checkers does fit for it. But Halo 3 is more like a jumbled mess of random (and unfair) crap than an analogy as polar as flipping a coin. The melee system is just the tip of the iceberg there, I can go on and on (as can anyone else who has played a lot of H3) about the random bullshit that happens and robs you.

I loved sweep sniping, haha. Once I figured out you could do that, I became 10x's better with the sniper. The auto-aim was way too powerful in H2.

halo 1 was a lot of fun, and it took some skill, but you realize halo three is the c & c 3 of FPS's. Great guide though, informative, and it probably will help some. although you could help eveyone if you happened to have a SA guide laying around ^ ^

What is SA? Something Awful is the only thing that's coming to my mind right now.
And how is Halo:CE hop-scotch?

I FUCKING LOVE HOP-SCOTCH
