some of the faster scores (approach rate, mostly.. i can play 210-230bpm ar9 and not have issues unless it's an FC that's worth a massive amount) really mess me up though. I played @3:30am and my heartrate before was in the 60's. I spiked to ~140 at the end of the FC and was back at low 70's a couple minutes after. That sounds pretty ridiculous to me and i have some somewhat serious health concerns because of this. What kind of HR (edit: heart rate, not hard rock lol) is normal/dangerous? Anyone else get this?
From some quick reading it seems like 140 isn't super bad - but i feel kinda crazy (hands shaking too much to hit anything aside from basic patterns)
I think the raised heart rate thing happens to most people so don't be too worried Especially when you're about to get a good score like top 50 or DT on a map you thought was really hard, etc It's weird sometimes when I play offline and even if I get a really good score, I don't even get nervous and increased heartrate. Only happens on ranked play lol

This all sounds really normal. Your average adult has a heart rate in the mid 70's. Stress can increase this in various ways. People react differently to different situations. Most people will peak in the 150-170 from a jog. The average decrease of these effects will reverse in minutes. Heart rate typically falls by 17–20 beats per minute. So at 140 your HR would be back at 66, using a medium of 18.5, in 4 minutes.
What you're explaining here seems much more like anxiety than heart problems. Which is entirely normal under stress.
I've never had it that high really, am in the process of getting somewhat fit now (why i'm monitoring etc) but i have breathing issues so i don't think i can put enough stress on my body to reach 140+ through normal physical exercise without passing out first

If you are jogging/etc trying to get in shape and you feel feint.. More so if you are new.. Stop trying so hard. The body is not build for sudden adjustments.
Not that you should stop by any measure. But for example.. If you come into a gym and try to do a 2 mile pass in 15 minutes. That's not a fantastic effort, In fact it's rather weak. But if you are a smoker of 15 years at 30 it is fantastic. I bet you couldn't do a single lap at that pace let alone two. It takes more than one pass to change this fact.
Edit: I'm not at all familiar with respiratory issues.. But if you can't push your HR past 140 you might want to talk to a doctor. That is not normal. It's probably due to allergies/ asthma or other simple issues that can be easily treated however. Not a serious measure. But regardless, you should still talk to your doc.

Ugh my fingers are so weak right now, not sure why. Can't even play slow songs properly.

I am talking to a doctor, got a peak flow meter a while ago. Not trying to rush stuff, i was pretty active @ a gym for ~6 months (2-3x a week, ~2 hours) before and my "pushing hard" after that was half a mile in 6 minutes, which made me throw up several times. I stopped most exercise for quite a while after that because it was just unpleasant for me and i didn't have anyone to do anything with. More recently i've just been walking (and wheezing some if at faster paces). 140 heartrate doesn't happen then. I've seen like 120 with interval jogging, but i can't maintain that or push harder. I'm a non-smoker, somewhat healthy at 18 (i watch diet a lot) i'm hardly 13% BF, but i'm not fat either. I was overweight when i was younger and then didn't get out a lot, so it was kinda all of a sudden "wtf i can't exert myself" and weird stuff after some activity (got up out of a swimming pool after swimming ~200 meters in 40 minutes, had to sit in stall for 15 minutes before showering because i felt like i was going to pass out) that didn't go away with a decent amount of time, so i started investigating again recently while doing what exercise i can (shooting for 25miles/2weeks etc) myself and with cousin who moved in to look for a job up here last week~ (yay people around who are not 13 year old girls!)
I do live with two smokers and two cats though, and i can say easily that my readings on the meter drop sharply after exercise, but i need to record data for a few weeks in a consistent fashion for it to be useful to a doctor. It was weird for me to see heartrate that high from an osu fc though considering i was actively monitoring it during exercise etc, but when it raises (few tense fc's, a league of legends 3v5 pentakill that ended with me @ less than 5% hp in a 1v1 duel) i can feel it and easily measure it by hand from a timer on PC.
Ty for post

Added to my list of songs to DL! It's a bit long now atm though since scottyyy linked me like 10 maps :D

Yes. Any problem that causes you not to breathe right..You should see a doctor about.
Also, if you live with smokers and cats, has this been an on-going problem? You might just be allergic to one or the other (or both).
It's not surprising to see higher hr anytime your stressed/nervous or w/e imo. If you are trying to fc a song that you previously kept stuttering on.. Well, I could easily believe you get a mild case of the jitters when you hit a combo of 12xx. At that point you are focused really intensely on not missing or breaking combo. Like I previously said, stress effects people in different ways.
IE: An Iraq vet who's getting robbed at a gas station is going to react a whole lot different than a 16 year old high school girl. The scenario is the same. The difference is one of them has been in the face of a bullet before. They will react very different. This is true for all things. Like I will get really excited/ 'pumped up' whenever I am about to connect the last wire or w/e to my model train set. It's a very mundane process for most people. But for me, after spending a lot of long hours making sure everything is good to go, soldering that last wire to the track is a breathtaking moment.
Fast edit: I'm glad your visiting your regular doc. I hope he gives you good news!

At least for years, wouldn't surprise me if secondary smoke was doing something and i am definately somewhat allergic to and often in close proximity with cats, but not sure if removing those would help me. It's not really in my control, aside from telling people where to smoke and making strict "no fur" zones. It's been like this for a long time, hard to say. He said last time i might just get an inhaler or something when i bring in numbers, thanks
I definitely get really hyped up for the crazy osu fc's
BUT WHICH ONE IS REALLLLLLLLLL
Also interesting is that i have 1 SS (if you went out with friends in a way) and everyone else there aside from the smurf has 15+. I have 96 S-ranks and everyone else has 278+
I finally did well enough to post this here. I play with relax, because I have no sense of rhythm, and also I think it is impossible to tap fast enough.
Switched to tablet a few weeks ago ( I know, filthy tablet user right? :S ) But I'm actually surprised how fast it was to see improvement. No wonder most people in top 100 are tablet users

What mouse settings are you using? :0
I was relax-only player for ages too. Used to play stuff like big money big prizes <3

Mouse is much more unforgiving for bad settings. If you have a mouse, you HAVE to set stuff right. If you have a tablet you can just copy rrytui's area and it's all down to how you move the pen, so i've seen far more mouse users than tablet users with horribly broken settings. I think in reality, tablet is way better for some stuff - but mouse also has advantages. I can't really say for sure til i use one though, so i'm going to, i think.
I'm able to consistently get ~165-170ms, with two good runs to 155 and 156ms. That's at typically ~3.3 +- 0.5 degrees (so say 2.8 - 3.8) away from target, average. All default settings (5hz target thing) aside from mouse sensitivity on what i want and horizontal movement restriction thing (it still moves vertically some)

Yeah for me tablet makes spinners and jumps a lot easier but things like snapping to notes and sometimes streams, I find mouse easier. Also took me a while to get used to hovering in full area. At the beginning I used to lift the pen too high when doing jumps and it would lose tracking and I would miss the note But now I've gotten used to hovering closer to the surface so I rarely have that issue.
Gz! The PP is probably because spaced streams - they're extremely easy to fail if you don't have proper streaming skills.
160pp
i love how i was hitting the keys at 0:40, it looks cool~
My top 5 is now 151pp+
top 10 is 134+
need one more map to nudge top 20 onto 125+
also, the amount of PP needed to be solidly in rank 100 changed by like 70 since i aimed for it. I'm there now (again) but need a decent pp bank to stay ahead. I improved a lot though.
Hitsounds? lol need them for the tap-to-beat maps and for hearing how evenly i'm hitting the fast streams (if i try to hit something out of comfort zone i often destabilize a lot)
could probably do 60 music 100 hitsounds instead of 40 music 100 hitsounds, but the secondary hitsound in this pair is really quiet thumpy sound. Both of those vids have like the same hitsound volume and on some maps like Drop - Granat where it only uses the second hitsound, you need to be able to hear it. Long streamy maps can often be better with lower hitsounds for me, but i wasn't playing them that session~
This game is super fun
i might be able to do like 500+ if i tried hard, but muscle memory OP. I'll use this in the future if somebody tells me that they can be effective while using a ton of negative and positive mouse acceleration :D
It basically just makes your mouse cursor invisible and makes you hit targets - you only have an indication of where you clicked after you click. Later on in that vid i did some bursts of 3 clicks without looking for added fun factor :D

The minimum audible volume setting on your videos, ~the same as mine on max. I nearly killed my ears pressing play lol.
Edit: why play that game when you can just osu! lol.
That's because i'm scaling my volume down with audio equipment and not on the OS or game level, youtube 100% with no other adjustment in your audio system is what i hear with my headphones maxed while actually playing the game
btw, i feel necessary to point out that i overestimated my skill before and the second half of V is For is actually pretty damn hard
You video was more than loud enough at like 10% volume on youtube (44% in windows, which is actually considerably higher than usual. 100% volume everywhere would be loud enough to use my headphones as speakers). You must be just below clipping (didn't hear any distortion, so any clipping must have been minor) but that's definitely way louder than it needs to be. Then again, at least you didn't make it too damn quiet like a lot of people seem to. I really hate having to turn on the compression in windows (it's got awful settings and would require writing a fair chunk of code to modify), so at least there's that.
