I don't think I've come across that, but I think we need more information than that. Was it an anime song? Did it have vocals? Fast or slow song? Lots of singles, sliders? How many difficulties were there? What was the date you downloaded (the map must be at least that old)? Was it an noticeably longer song (probably >3 minutes), or was it TV size (~1.5 min)?
Don't worry about it, there are plenty of good other maps to make new favourites out of. I think if you subscribe to osu you can search by songs you have played before.

Just started playing this game and it's really awesome. Downloaded some packs and while it's nice with a few I don't enjoy the massive amounts of Japanese music all that much. There are some gems here and there that aren't j-pop in each pack but i can imagine it would take a while to filter out.
I DLd some recent packs and a tune called Gentle Stick X M2U - Hades in the Heaven was just the right genre ^_^
Are there some electro/trance/dnb-ish packs or similar tunes out there that you can recommend? if it's considered spam in this thread please PM me ~_~

Felt great to work out a few things mentally and then hit entire first part, combination of approach rate 10 reading and the jump timings were throwing me off for a long time :D

I don't ever download packs so I'll just list some singles you can check out and generally non japanese, also if you like nightcore that will expand mapchoices greatly but excluding it from this post. I'll also put a + at the end if I personally like them a lot (considering song+map then)

Apparently I missed an entire new ranking system before peppy rage-cancelled everything. Though my rank was never high I still think it's nice having it there, taking out a personal overall ranking just makes the game a little worse.
Now I can't even 'at a glance' tell what kind of difficulty a multiplayer lobby is playing. Before I could see "oh well these guys have ranks similar to mine, the maps should be pretty reasonable to play". Now you can't really tell without getting into the song. And don't go 'look at the stars!' because 5 stars obviously differ wildly in difficulty.
Edit: I also like how, in your profile where your PP used to be, you can get a "Have you tried chart rankings?" message when there hasn't been an active chart for a week.

Oh wow, the rage cancel was new for me too.
I actually couldnt see much about skill level by rank. I mean, most people around my rank would (in my experience) lose against me in mp, but once every so much time i would get in a multiplayer room with players with a rank varying from double digits to 4 times mine, and i got destroyed by everyone. It's partly because i'm quite a specific player, but also because some players care that little about getting good scores (note i'm not saying pp, that's different. I don't care about pp, i do like fcing with a high acc, so getting good scores) there is a significant skill disparity in people of the same rank.

Losing even the pp1 system is a shame, though.
It was introduced as the next system, but was not yet implemented. There also was a page where you could see where you would stand in the new ranking system, although that was a while back. At the time, when i was around rank 4k, i went to 5k or so. But that doesnt really matter.
Peppy seemed quite frustrated, seeing some of his comments below this post, sometimes reacting bitchy, while looking pretty reasonable at other times. I'm not really in the mood to search those comments again. The post itself, however, displays at least some of it: 'please take a break from the rank-chasing and chill in multiplayer'. I speculate this rank-chasing is one of the reasons for peppy's doubts regarding performance rankings.
Although i have no source, and It's entirely possible i misread some or all of it, as far as i could tell from his posts, peppy thinks the game should be played for fun (well, duh), the possibility to compete (how exactly isnt clear to me) is not a bad thing and that a ranking system should have progression as a basis. Personally, i'm very afraid of what progression would mean in this context. If he means progression skillwise, i'm all for it. But progression in terms of scorefarming would be horrible.
Any fun but challenging maps to SS? Pref short, like up to a minute and a half or so. I don't actually have any SS's written on profile because every map that i SS'd (only a few) i got a much higher score with something else. Etc SS with dt.. and then dt hd 98% to take over the score
Can i even still add to those numbers on profile with no ranking system?

https://osu.ppy.sh/s/12713 To SS this you need some more control then you have now (judging from spectating). Slow spaced stream, but short, and certainly fcable. Note that SS gives you a top 50 rank, so that's quite hard. But still, i don't think it's impossible.
edit: peppy has changed things again. Even when ranking had disappeared, my top ranks stayed. Now they're gone as well TT. Not that it really matters, but i liked to analyse my 'improvement' through watching the change in personal top ranks.
