Looks like I have two different rank #s now. There's this "overall" rank that is shown after I finish a beatmap and a pp rank. Which one actually matters now? | ||

Just pay attention to whichever makes you feel better, or ignore them both if you like.  | ||

I suggested he could release a one-off version of osu with no future support which has all online community aspects removed, but allows for controllable AR, and the ability to remove/black out backgrounds/storyboards/skins. For people like myself. I do certainly enjoy chatting with you guys through the built in chat, and observing you guys play, and the occasional multis I've played with you guys, but I think the ability to play the game as a way to challenge myself outweighs the benefits that the community integration has. I'm used to playing stepmania, so online ranking, integrated chat, observing through the client, none of it is necessary for me to get the experience of osu that I desire. I even suggested that if he were to release a version like that he could even remove the toggles from the main client, because anyone who wants to play anything other than exactly what the mapper intended should go play the one-off version, or suck it up. Peppy has made many comments suggesting that he really doesn't care for the players who delete backgrounds/SBs etc. so he should (in theory) be fine with cutting out the players who do that entirely. In fact, with the comments he's made, he should be happy to have a potential way of giving those people what they want while still preserving the ideals he strives for in the main community. I don't know if I'll get a response, or if peppy will take me seriously, but I hope he is at least willing to consider the things I've said, and willing to at least make an attempt to understand where players like myself are coming from, and why we do the things we do. I really hope he at least takes the time to write a civil response, even if it's an emphatic "no" to my suggestion. I specifically PM'd him because I didn't want to stir up shit on the forums. I just want a true civil discussion on where he wants to take osu in the future, why he wants to take it there, and see what he thinks about my idea. | ||
