So I'm sad to say, I will most likely not reach my 300mil isk goal during the 14 day trial, but do not despair for I will prevail!
I have I think 5 days left on my trial (will have to check) and will hopefully be able to get a 21 day trial from someone when I have 2 days left on my trial, I will then start over on that account with the isk from this one (there are ways to do so)...
Toon: Kalradin Isk: 160mil Assets: 20 - 30mil
For the next 2-3 days I will be blitzing lvl2 missions, here's hoping I can make an extra 20 - 30mil in the next couple days, maybe even more...
Wish me luck.
Also, I would like to thank:
- JP, thank you for helping me through my first few days in eve you have taught me much up to now, and hopefully you do not run out of wisdom any time soon.
- Mot, thanks for helping me out with that one Amarr cruiser it really was a pain. As well, looking over my EVEMon plan and helping me with my ships' fit, saved me hours of hassel which most likely translated into tens of millions of isk simply through the snowballing of time in EVE.
- Syn, thanks for the offer to take me down and PvP hopefully I will be able to take you up on that soon. As well, thank you for helping a noob get a small leg up in the harsh world of EVE, I wont forget it.
- Gordon, thanks for helping this noob out when he needed it, you have no idea how much frustration some of your answers have calmed.
To everyone in SCBW, thanks for having time to help out a noob and well... If you don't mind, don't think I'll be leaving any time soon

Dude I can front you 100mil isk if that's what you need, it's not a big deal.

I just started this. Interesting stuff so far. Minmitar for me!

A few more questions:
Which is better for lvl 4 mission blitzing and why: Golum or CNR? Ignore the Tangu for now and assume that the golum has torps and the CNR has cruises.
How do you deal with frigs and enemy drones if your ship is armed with torps and cruise missiles? Do you need drones?

anyone want to grind lvl 2 missions with me?

I thought about this question a lot and I've finally come to a conclusion, it depends on a few things.
First off, yes you need drones. There is no way to avoid this.
Second there are some missions that a Golem WILL do faster, but they aren't that many and the difference between it and the CNR is pretty minimal. The Golem used to be better because you could blitz missions but still pull large wrecks toward you and gain that little extra bit of income. That's rather obsolete now.
The Golem suffers from range issues. With maxed out skills your javelin torpedos will only go out to 60km...so in missions like The Assault, World's Collide, AE Bonus room you're really going to notice your range issue.
The CNR has spectacular range and spectacular firepower to boast about. The DPS is very slightly lower than a Golem (unless you're going full tier 2 cruise with rage cruise missiles it kinda gimps you against BC/Cruiser) but it's usually made up for by just how much further it shoots.
The Golem will save you a ton on ammo because it's only using 4 launchers...
My final conclusion is this...if you actually have to train for the Golem... IE the racial BS to level 5, AWU 5, or any of the missile range skills to 5...stick with a CNR. If you have all of those to level 5 then you may as well pick the golem as on occasion you will get that Meta 4 loot and such. Be aware that the Golem needs at least 2 TP to be effective and it really shines with 3 TP. This requires a lot of tanking skills and quite a bit of faction crap in your fitting. If you can't afford to do this, just stick with the CNR.

Or be part of the cool club and use a machariel. I read somewhere that they do missions just as well with proper skills, but I could be wrong.

mach arent so easy in lvl 4s. i mean u can get better ones like golem/cnr/tengu so on ... tbh a very good combo ( thats ofc if u can affor 2 good chars ) is a golem for killing faster bs`es and a tengu or at least a cerb for frigates and rest ...
|
One of the major drawbacks of anything other than Caldari ships in PvE is the fact that Caldari can choose damage types without any drawbacks, as opposed to turrets which suffer from modified range/tracking/damage.
The Machariel is still way cooler though

Actually Machariels are absolutely fine for level 4's, they shine against angels in particular. Macharials are to Vargurs as CNR are to Golems.
Machs just require a ton more skills to use properly because without tech 2 guns you may as well just forget it. For pure speed though Machs are right up there with the other fast mission runners. Minmatar don't have to worry about damage types because they use ALL damage types.
The real bonus to using Caldari for PvE is that you just don't have to worry about tracking like you do in a gun ship. Sure a faster ship will take less damage from your missiles but it's nothing like what a gunboat has to deal with.
Conversely if you're a really good gunboat pilot you can one volley frigates/intys though...something a Caldari ship will not be able to do.
Golem/Tengu/CNR/Vargur/Mach are the 5 fastest mission runners in the game with the Tengu being the slowest of the lot but only by a very little. The mach requires the most skills for best results because you need two BS racials to level 5 and tech 2 guns. The Tengu is the least skill intensive but it chews through ammo like you wouldn't believe.

By TP do you mean target painter?

Yes I mean target painter. If you get a CNR you only need one TP because Rigor missile rigs work on cruise missiles.

also you said you need drones for the frigates and other drones. Should you even bother using ammo to try to do damage to them, or should you only use drones?

I target frigs/small drones really quick and set my drones on them and then I just kill battleships and the like. If you have your drones set to aggressive (you can only do this on certain missions safetly) they'll just automatically hunt down and kill all the frigates around you because most other things will orbit outside of range of the drones anyway.
Use Hobgoblin 2's for anything but angel missions...for Angel use Warrior 2's

I keep trying to get into the game, but always lacked a connection with people. I think I'm going to go the Minmitar PvE route to begin with. I've always tried the missiles, but they just feel booring to me. We'll see, I'll join the channel at some point tonight, but I want to try a few things on a 14day account before beggin for a 21day.
A well geared/skilled Mach can Alpha most BSs with a 4rack of Artys can't it? I realize it's going to be a bit painful to get up to a Mach, so I'll go phoon or something similar to begin with.
Are there any good guides for training orders?

well he just gave you a clue, hobgoblin 2s, so train for tech 2 light drones. drones 5, scout drone op 5, drone specs for gall and minmatar 2, drone interfacing 4. get some navigation and durability aswell.
