I tried to google it but couldn't find anything in English. Who is Jebeni Zordon?

Jebeni means fucked, I have no idea who Zordon might be though.

Well, just about everyone in the universe can fly a drake, including my character. Not having t2 launchers means it does funny damage that is worst than a full specced rifter if without drones. That said, I don't think a harbi or a cane does any better at >50km ranges at 5mil sp.

drake cannot physically do less dmg than a rifter, no matter how bad you or your fits are. unless it was a joke.

Actually, a Rifter with only Stabs, T2 Autocannons with Hail, Projectile rigs and All skills L5 do more damage than a Drake with a full set of HMs with standard missiles and bad skills. These are not joke fits (Throwaway DPS Rifter, Drake with all slots for tank).

if you fit a drake with all slots for tank you deserve to be kicked from whatever fleet youre in. you fit a ship thats never gonna be shot anyway with even more tank. they ARE joke fits.
and i still dont see it doing less than 130 dps, unless you have absolutely no skills.

No, they are fail fits. A joke fit would be cap rechargers in every single slot and smartbombs in the highs, or maybe expanded cargoholds or something.
I got 186 DPS with the Rifter above IIRC, cba to check.

Sounds like a titan fit to me.
Why the hell do Carriers need so many rank 5 skills to level 5 to be useful? Ugh. I remember why I avoided training them on Hyey in the first place. First on the list Drone Interacing.
Then Adv Sapceship Command. I also need hull upgrades 5 because Hyey was a shield tanker primarily. Uh let's see what else..
OH yes jump drive...don't have that yet.
Logistics anyway just to use the triage module in circumstances where it's needed.
Hey that just might be it...maybe.

Don't forget the 4 relevant armor hards to V. Those extra 1% goes a long way!

I've trained that once.
You're going to damn well have to live with Carrier 4 until I'm damn well ready to train one skill for SIXTY THREE days....again -.-
Also I have all armor hards to 4...and ENAM HERE WE GO. 5 will come eventually...starting with explosive!

That's right you get them angel rats!

Actually my thought behind that was because armor is weakest to Explosive... I thought it was a pretty smart thing myself!
Seeing as the only way to really get your bang for your buck from armor tanking is through the passive ENAM I figured i'd start with explosive period.

Basic EFTing with caldari scourge and meta3 launchers gives my HM drake at 226 missile dps with two BCU. A pimped rifter gets 206 dps with republican gyros, rigs and implants. (well, I saw the fit for the purpose of showoff level 4s....with a deadspace booster and AB it tanks just fine >.> )
If I use the full tank fit (4x shield power relay lows) for c2 wh sleeper tanking, it'd be doing less than a rifter.
That kind of dps makes me feel that bringing the drake along is like a paperweight.... At least my bomber can still do 8k alpha with >400 dps at 45km while being cloaky and agile.
Sometimes I have this crazy dream of armor tanking the drake and fitting 5 tracking disruptor/damps in the med.... (83 missile dps with assault ml, 54k ehp with 1600 plate...lol)
------ Being a pvp noob, can someone tell me the method of operation for roaming sniping hac gangs? While snipe hac can fight at 100+, who does the tackling and how does the tackle live long enough for anything to die when the tackle is unsupported? (no massive rr chains or many heavy tackles in the fleet) Also, if you jump into a gatecamp and have to fight in close range, isn't such a gang screwed. Granted you could use a scout alt, but it does mean large areas of operation is impossible, while entry points to enemy space is usually filled by massive bubble arrays. Its not like cyno/jumpbridge that lets a whole fleet avoid the gates....
|
No, your bomber will die to anyone that winks at it. A drake provides 2 slots of ewar, and the standard shield drake does 355 dps with t2, and 319 with Arbalests without drones. Als you're comparing a pimped rifter that needs to be hugging something to do its max dps to a ship that does more dps at a larger range.

A large amount of my understanding of pvp in Eve comes from watching alliance tournaments, where the bombers look reasonably survivable if not alpha-ed (as in, they kill the other team first), though I can't fully understand why. (you'd think things like AC fit battleships and such would swat them out the air fast) I wonder if it is either due to sig tank + buffer + fast responding logistics pilot, or that FC just don't target them. (which would be strange if they are very easy to kill given their dps)
Or do bomber teams rely on massive damps and ecm to tank? But a sebo or eccm on a few ships should shut that down completely, and teams like PL have brought their bomber setup multiple times in the last year's alliance tournament.
|
Alliance tournaments have no common points with actual eve pvp. They are setup matches that have random fight distances and a limited number of ships.
In 0.0 pvp most fleets have a assault frig that's a dedicated anti-tackling/frig ship. What this means is that it wil have 4-6 or more flights of warrior II's on assist from the canes and drakes of the fleet. This leads to it pretty much raping anything that doesn't run away fast enoguh since warrior's have 5km/s MWD speed or somewhere around that. I've even seen LR eagles ripped to shreads in a matter or seconds because there's so much drone dps on them.
Don't get me wrong, bombers have their uses. In fact Goons are pretty good with them. But making a proper bombing run on an enemy BS fleet takes great communication, coordination and discipline. Another usage is bombing drones that carriers drop but it's the same drill as before.

Couple points of business:
1. Kizu is now official fitting tzar. Although he's a wildly antisocial hermit, his fits make me hot.
2. I love that we're getting some new blood, but the next person who utters the phrase "faction fit rifter" is getting blacklisted =p
3. Anyone who brings a bomber to anything but a bomber fleet will be booted from corp. This is a policy which has been discussed with all of the alliance FCs and one that I wholeheartedly agree with.
4. Anyone who gets tackled (regardless of whether you get out or pop) in a carrier while ratting is automatically booted from corp. Alliance CEO instituted this rule a few months back and I fully support it. It's selfish and goofy to rat in your fucking carrier to begin with, but it's not acceptable to have alliance mates risking their ships to bail you out.
5. Drakes aren't one of the most fielded ships in the game because of their spectacular DPS.

Bombers only work well in tourny because A) their targets are stationary to begin with, B) their opponents are clustered up Edit: nvm
