Players are already forced to multi account to succeed in this game (thank god I never got into it). They call $20 for an in-game shirt a "micro" transaction. What were they thinking? I dont have $70 to dump to a game for a monacle, but I would be comfortable on spending a few bucks here and there for something cool. It's absolutely retarded I know, but I would. I wonder what the next step for CCP is besides ignoring people. Was about to renew my sub a few days ago to check out the new turret effects and the new maller model myself, glad I didnt though. your statement is false, people just multiaccount cause they dont have to play anyways so they might as well do more things then what they can with a single account. also 1. You dont have to drop any real money 2. you dont have to buy the shit if you think its too expensive a vast majority of eve players never pay to play the game and have so much money that they dont know what to do with it that whole ''i cant personnally afford it so I think is dumb'' is so fucking bad

Lots of rage here Turpin. You are fully entitled to disagree with me but try to keep it civil. For the record, I owned a 425mm Railgun II BPO when the guns sold for 16mill ISK a pop. I own a titan and could buy more monocles than you could drakes. I'm against the principle. I won't buy the shirt and I also won't pay the fee to get in the door of the virtual shop. CCP built its company on the backs of subscriptions of people like me. We feel the devs are out of touch. It's not just the shirt, the shirt / monocle is a symbol of what they have been using our subscriptions to spend development time on. As a customer I'm entitled to an opinion. And for the record, you can't even spin ships anymore. I'm denied even that simple pleasure!

Yeah im sure you give lots of money to CCP if you own a titan /sarcasm yes you can still spin ships, stop telling me that , just open the ship fittings and spin it And yes, as a customer you are allowed to an opinion, im just pointing out how terribly wrong it is.

Sorry, I'm dense. You'll have to explain the first part to me because I don't get it. How can an opinion be wrong when there is no right or wrong answer? If I make the statement "I dislike the direction the devs have taken with Eve", you may disagree but I am not wrong.

Will I? No. I'm keeping my stuff in the hope that CCP unfucks itself. Theres a pretty nice thread here that explains the full situation for those who are interested. http://failheap-challenge.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2530 Finally the CSM have "been summoned" to Iceland on pretty short notice. I heard this from a corpie of the CSM dude in question, it may be a troll and time will tell, but if it's true then its admission that while a lot of the playerbase may be wrong (Turpin said so), its still cause for concern.

CCP are supposedly already shitting themselves over the number of people cancelling their subs. [citation needed] This whole thing has happened before with Call of Duty whatever. There was a lot of rage and protests etc. but in the end exactly nothing happened. This will happen with EVE too. Making gold-ammo available in NeX is an easy process once the seed has been planted, which it has if they put in buyable faction standings. Unfortunately all the evidence points to that happening. It's a shame this had to happen to EVE, it's a pretty amazing game :/

Theres a pretty nice thread here that explains the full situation for those who are interested. http://failheap-challenge.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2530 I have a friend who works at CCP and a few dozen of them were at the pub Friday night when the devblog got released. They did a collective facepalm when they read it on their mobiles, CCP's own workers. I know I, and many other disgruntled customers are wrong (Turpin said so) so its all ok. Finally the CSM have "been summoned" to Iceland on pretty short notice. I heard this from a corpie of the CSM dude in question, it may be a troll and time will tell, but if it's true then its admission that while a lot of the playerbase may be wrong (Turpin said so), its still cause for concern. That is the first piece of text worth reading I've seen about this issue. The Mittani is awesome. What everyone seem to be oblivious about and I'll repeat once more to try having a sane discussion is: aurum (money) is exchangeable with PLEX (ISK). If CCP decides to sell Titans for 5 bucks, it would fuck the game by immensely devaluing ISK, but they would be available for everyone. If they are slightly less retarded, it will have no effect at all. Yes, a lot of the playerbase is wrong. Not too long ago everyone knew that Earth was flat, that blacks were inferior beings and that Iraq had WMDs. I'm not seeing people I know are very good players whine, but I see someone who thinks he's awesome because owns a titan. What's happened here is a whole nexus of rage from many corners of the playerbase was ignited by one catalyst. Some are angry that Incarna has no real content for veteran players. Some are angry about NeX vanity items being too expensive; some are angry that NeX exists at all. Most appear to be horrified by the lurking shadow of Pay to Win, and just about everyone is pissed off at the dismissive, condescending and money-hungry attitudes displayed in the CCP newsletter, the Hilmar email, and the damage control devblogs. This is 110% right. edit: I'd like to highlight this A few years ago, we saw the impact that 'oligarchs' had on the nullsec metagame, when Red Overlord had SerLordex spend a hundred thousand dollars on Eve Online, A Bad Game.

It's a shame this had to happen to EVE, it's a pretty amazing game :/ Another good descriptive article of CCP's cockups here http://eve.beyondreality.se/NeXCQResponse.html Kuresuti, I've been around eve for a long time and I suspect this time its different. Over the years I've watched the community become outraged at hundreds of things, both real and perceived. They have always blown over. CCP has been running on a "goodwill overdraft" for a long time because they are the "little plucky developer / the Eve universe is so full of potential" and so on. It seems that now is the perfect storm of circumstances finally boiling over. I think this time it's properly serious. It's not "close the doors tomorrow" serious but I think how CCP handle this going forward will determine whether Eve trends slowly upwards or dies a slow, lingering death.
