=D I won my first two on 1 today. Harb and rifter vs me in a dram.
I have been having some lulz in my dram lately picking off cruisers and frigs while making a pass towards Emol i ended up in mean corp space, normally there isnt much for me to fight in mean corp because all the systems in that area have 1-2 guys sitting in each system and they react pretty quickly to a fight going down, however today the area seemed a little light.
I pick up harb on dscan from my safe and pinpoint it down to an asteroid belt. For some reason hes ratting. Normally I expect a neut to be on a harb but i decide to just poke at it figuring i can just gtfo out anyways in my dram, since theyre so retardedly fast. I land at the belt only to see him finish warping off, I throw down a scan in his direction pick up 2 belts call it 50-50.
I land within 5km of him on my first try. =D Perfect, lock point begin poking at him. I see the red lines coming from ship but decide to wait a cycle with my nos on to see how bad it is. Cycle ends....my cap is unharmed....he has a nos on.
In my excitement i launch drones and switch to my drone tab waiting for him to launch on me. Hammerheads...even more luck!. They still sting when they hit but im locking and killing them every couple of seconds. Down to his last couple of drones he begins launch firing once and recalling them in an attempt to keep me from popping them, theyre lasting longer but im in no real danger and his guns cant track me with 2 drones left in his arsenal he calls them in just as local +1's.
I check the new pilot hes not in the mean alliance, so i put it asside. At this point im getting a little worried im down to about 20 rounds and hes only at 30% armor remaining. Right as im about to just laugh with the guy(hes complaining that backup is slow tonight) in local and bug out, the new local contact lands in our belt, a rifter.
I lock him and pray he engages. Success he joins in on the harbs side, either theyre friends or this guy should never go to vegas. Harb launches drones in a last ditch chance to kill me. I make short work of the rifter why still orbiting the harb keeping point on him.
I time my next pass to stop orbiting just in time to grab the loot without letting the harb get a clean shot on me or get out of point range. Reloading and having my drones pick off his last drones on me.
Finally hes in low structure and congrats me on my kill just as local begins to pop with his buddies finally arriving to help him. A cruor lands 40k out just as he explodes and i hesitate to grab the loot. I think about going for a third kill but my guns are nearly burnt and the rifter was only kind enough to drop non faction emp so i safe up and the evi uni guy in system private messages me congratulating me on the kill he watched while cloaked.

And the morale of the story is that dramiels are perfectly balanced and the natural progression from rifters, which is exactly what I"ve been saying all along!

If it was a neut id more than likely need to have gotten out, but yes i went on a nice spree with my dram, theyre absolutely ridiculous

What fit are you using abom?

This is why you bring a neut when you use medium sized turrets or bigger and you are not a drone or e-war boat.

Yeah, Syndicate died when DNA left. I dunno about the more northern parts of the place. But yeah, im going of Kill:Loss ratio, not IskDestroyed:IskLost, since that would be daft because rifters are cheap and they are incredibly deadly in the hands of about 10 capable pilots. And I must admit, I am impressed with you. I was looking over your graph here a few minutes ago, and you have really risen in rank the last few months. I tip my hat, GG. I apologize for whatever trolling and BMing I have done so far, and I would like to start anew with my relationship with you guys. After reviewing some stuff and discussing stuff with people I know in the game, I realize that there is a place for your kind of tactics.
I would call it the delayed-nano-timing build. Nano got nerfed, and then what happens? Bam, people doesn't expect nano. Even though I personally disagree with your style, I would still like to help you, if you want my help that is. Anything in EVE can be refined more. Im not preaching that armorships are the be-all end-all of EVE, neither will I be preaching that shieldfittings should be stigmatized as fucking bad. I was narrowminded when I wrote my other posts, and for that, I apologize. But if you want my help on refining your style, just ask.

Our average rifter pilot has been playing eve from 0-4 weeks and has around <1m skillpoints. These are not capable pilots. Earlier today we lost a 1 day old guy mining in hisec in the home system of our war targets. These rifters are not elite pilots striving for killboard efficiency, they're complete idiots being hammered into competence. And yet we still get 90% so far this month.
The hatchery is full of brand new clueless players with all the incredibly stupid losses that entails. We're eve uni without the month spent in highsec getting to grips with the game and generally less skill points, we are always going to lose a lot of new ships because we allow brand new teamliquid members to join without any prior game experience. Remember all those really stupid losses you had right when you started eve and were in an npc corp, those are all on our killboard, and more of them because we put the new guys in low from day 1. And for some reason you're giving them equal weighting to a battleship.
Throw away your preconceptions of what we are and what we do. Throw away your preconceptions of a rifter.

I think you misunderstand me, with capable, I am not talking about skillpoints, but rather player skill. Sure, they help, but they are not alpha-omega, and the rifter was just an example.

Every day we lose multiple rifters who warp to gate guns/station guns about 5 minutes after a fight and it's pretty much unavoidable because they simply will not listen. That's okay, rifters are cheap and they have to learn the hard way but I refuse to accept that if we kill a trio of battleships worth 500m with no losses and then three retarded rifters worth 1m collectively suicide on a station then that's pretty much a draw.

KwarK always so aggressive. But starting off retarded is true. I'd link his drake loss again but he'd just edit my post again so wtv lolol.
Must say though I'm amazed at how much some of us have improved, going from completely clueless to being able to shout at the completely clueless.

GCC Rifters? Warping to stations/gates? Really? :O What's wrong with a safespot or a planet/moon/belt?
Suppose it could happen the first time, adrenaline rush and all that.

If you wish to make an accurate comparison between the hatchery and other corps then it'd have to be with npc corps or corps which recruit exclusively out of the rookie help channel. Even eve uni has much higher joining requirements than us. Numbers need to be placed in context and that context isn't always readily apparent to people outside of the corp because they're outside the corp. I don't blame them for not understanding the context but when they attempt to draw conclusions then I will try and inform them.

While we're comming clean. I'm a fucking awful pilot xD.

The rifter is fired in the heat of suns, hammered by the weapons of our enemy, and occasionally our own; and quenched in the pod fluid of our kills. Born then are they to take commands without hesitation, and give their lives for the company. Then they slowboat within 150km of a station and get blasted apart by the guns..

Pilots in Rifters are terribly eerie souls: P.I.R.A.T.E.S.

It's nice of you to admit that. Like we've said, our upturn in 'rankings' has coincided with us getting more pilots who have some idea what they're doing. Right now, I'd say we have 10-12 good BC Pilots, 5-6 Good rifter pilots, and are starting to get more support ships added to our compositions which can really help. It's not often we're all online at the same point, but when we are.. fights like the one against E-Uni happen. That fight wasn't really Nano orientated though, it was more a case of 'They don't seem to be able to break our Harb's tank.. Scimmy on Harb.. Everyone else let's primary this shit.
As for being narrowminded.. In some way's I'd agree but in a sense so are we. However, our narrowminded nature comes solely because it's the most effective thing to do in the current state we are in. Everyone around us could demolish us in a variety of ways if we weren't able to control the fights. I think we can all see that there are tactics that work amazingly out there for other corps and who knows.. someday we may transition into those when we have the right people with the right skills. Another reason why I feel this nano-business is good, is that it teaches the rifter pilots very early on about the importance of keeping ranges and being able to manually pilot your ship to minimize damage which are skills that can be transferred to almost anything.
