It was just the only thing I found through looking through the ships that wasn't so cut and dry. I'll look into the recon ships though, sounds like they might be what I'm looking for. Are they at all capable in solo engagements or for level 4 missions for that matter? Lvl4s: No, I don't think they can do lvl4 missions at all. You want a drake or a battleship for these. Or something like a marauder oder pirate faction bs, if you are rich. Solo: Some of them (the curse comes to my mind), but they are not cheap, so I would be careful with that. Edit: do not misunderstand: recons are awesome ships, but I would not try to fly them as fast as you can.

Fwiw, though, there haven't been many examples ofpeople copying PL fleets to good effect. vOv Which corp shouldn't matter since we use standardized fits. Yes individual members put their little spin on it, but believe me, in PL if your fit is substandard it WILL be found and WILL be ridiculed. If you are looking for more types of gangs to run, T1 cruisers gangs work very well. VERY cheap to fly and they do surprising amounts of damage. For example yesterday was Ganknight for another forum I frequent, we got ~100 thoraxes in gang and we melted an archon in about 1 min. Lots of Thoraxes, Omens, Caracals, and Stabbers/Ruptures can make great gangs. Of course for nullsec you want dictors/hictors. Drake gangs are pretty FOTM right now, and work, but I would definitely suggest you add some variety to gangs, it isn't good to be known to fly only a certain type of gang every time.

Echoing revo's own farewell post, the game has lost its luster for me, the time sink is rather large, and most of all real life things have steadily grown in priority to the point where I can no longer ignore nor delay them. I will be proposing to my gf soon and I need to change jobs asap and maybe even my career -- it's time to get serious about real life. And if I had to be perfectly honest with myself, I have a video game addiction that I need to get serious about as well. (There, I said it) Lord knows I've tried quitting games before and have failed countless times, but wish me luck on this one fellas, I'm gonna try my best to not look back. Thanks for all the good times guys and putting up with my dumb theorycrafting and gay blackbird flying lol. I'm not gonna do personal shoutouts, that's gay, but you guys know who you are -- really been good times, and if we ever meet in real life, drinks on me. Best of luck to you friend I will miss our Rifter/Griffin roams.

That GN was pretty funny. Archon melted under 100 raxes.

EVE is harsh, difficult, and extremely complicated. You will find it is of a very different class than these other games. The community is alternately helpful, giving bad advice because they don't know better, ignoring you, and taking advantage of your ignorance. I recommend joining a group like EVE University; they have a history of doing an excellent job introducing people to the game. edit: I recommend joining a channel like Help > Adoptions and asking questions about the game there; you are also free to convo me whenever I'm on and I'll do what I can to answer questions and help out.

Pretty much what he said. But I'll add - if you can deal with british rants then come over to the Hatchery. If not, well, Eve Uni is a start. Though IIRC they only take you in if you have more than 2m skillpoints or something? EDIT: Oh nvm The only thing we ask is that you have finished Eve's introductory tutorial and follow-on missions.
