Haha, that's one of those EVE conundrums! Like why Goonswarm liked to fit their PVE Harbingers with dual buffer tanks. Some things just aren't meant to be explained.
You guys ever do any Covert fleets w/ Black Ops bridges? Capital ops?

We prefer bigger ships.

I always found cruiser and battlecruiser-sized ships to me the most enjoyable to fly; good blend of speed, maneuverability and firepower. Frigates were never my thing (except for interceptors, I really enjoy tackling), and battleships just aren't that great for sneaky operations behind enemy lines.
I am really looking forward to making use of the Widow, though. I've done some ops in my Loki as a DPS/prober and as shield logistics, but now I finally have the skills to "drive the bus"! It's so fun hot-dropping covert fleets onto unsuspecting NPCers, the tears are delicious.
But yeah, I didn't know you guys were mostly new to EVE. Happy capsuleering; it only gets better with time!

Saw a post mentioning "21 day trials" on one of the earlier pages, you guys still have those? Would really like to finally try this game after having heard so much about it.

get a normal trial, log in and you can ask people in chat about the 21 day trials. They will definitely send you one.

the only thing left for you to do now is lose that hurricane!
in the other news, IT (basically BoB) guys are fags even on SiSi (the test server). you have a fight with a guy on a server where every ship/mod is virtually free, and when he starts losing he warps in e-war on an alt to jam you so he can warp away :D

I really feel terrible and VoV is being a whiny bitch at me about it on vent which just makes it worse. I know I fucked up hard VoV, I feel shit about the domi loss already. No need to keep telling me how shit it makes you feel that we failed, I was the guy who let it happen, I know. Wow man simmer down its just a god damn battleship. This harping on ratios is what caused bob to fail cascade. Relax..enjoy the game...and how the hell was that domi worth 140 mil but failfit? My typhoon is worth less and it's rigged..with trimarks..and not failfit.

VoV keeps missing points, so here is the ultimate tackle guide for him

he can also ctrl + click on the overview to target if hes really pr0
|
He can also ctrl + DOUBLE CLICK if he's a licensed professional.
That way, he will both lock up the target, AND start approaching.

Yes, but that method sucks. If you have the overview sorted by distance he can get closer to you than another target and they will swap positions resulting in you possibly targetting the wrong one. Same can happen with any other order (undocking/warping people ruining your day). It just sucks.

So we got a load of basic battlecruisers on and a claymore and got some links going. Some two day old guys in t1 lolfrigates too. They got a massive fleet of battleships going and just threw themselves at us, similar to marsoc style but on a much grander scale. We opened by killing a nemesis, a merlin and laughing when a phoon shot an ally and got concorded. Then I suffered a massive crash and had to disc myself, leaving the relatively untested Caelum in command. This did not go well for them and despite our fleet losing a significant portion of its dps with me and massive edges in skirmishing from the links we still netted a cane, scorpion, pest and a pod. Of course in all wars there are casualties and this was no different. We lost a rifter, an incursus, a stiletto and a budget blackbird. Total value under 30 million, most of which was the stiletto. That's three frigates and a t1 fit heavily insured cruiser, all very low skill point, very low cost and mostly new guys just along for the ride. If we compare that to their t2 fitted expensive battleships with high skill points that suffered around 350m of losses we'll call that a win. Also Caelum very much rose to the occasion. So in the words of emol local, gf, gf, gf, gf, gf, gf, gf, gf, gf, gf, gf, gf

safe to say the hurricane made it out alive np

By the way this bumped us up to over a billion isk of damage in the first 24 hours. Not bad for a pack of fierce noobies.

Nou threw a cane away by playing in bed where his mouse didn't work. A stiletto burned 300k towards him and it took him about a minute to try and warp to the sun so he got pointed. So so far today we've lost one cane in abom who was fucking retarded and tried to undock into a stationcamp in order to burn out and make an insta undock so next time he could escape said stationcamp, one domi who tried to deaggress and forgot to take nos off and one cane who was playing without a mouse.
What this means is that when we were actually playing we took no losses above frigate size (except that one blackbird) and it's only massive, massive fails on the part of individuals which is letting us down right now. So provided we can deal with the rampant idiocy in our corp we'll actually be pretty near perfect. Every time we've gotten a fleet up and actually done what we've tried to do it's gone perfectly.

Fellow 9poolers: I just logged in and lost a 40-50m ship ... im writting this as an apology, my retardness, stupidity, lack of game sense, lack of "micro", cost corp a km that polutes the awesome campaign my fellow pilots did today. i really hope in your hearths you could someday forgive me. the shame will be my burden.
