My posts are rarely made for the eyes of a single individual.
Is anyone here good with pricing characters? I'm trying to sell a character on the Bazaar and I feel so clueless as to what's a good offer or not. Highest offer so far was a 9.5 b/o but I feel like I'm ripping myself off.

I don't remember ever commenting an atron fit, but I do apologize for what I said. I spent the entire morning on the phone with comcast over something that should have taken five minutes, and spent my time on hold here. After reading 419's and DefMatrixUltra's posts I had to go back and reread what you and I wrote... and it wasn't the same thing I remember reading.
It seems I was out of sorts and looking for a fight, and I'm sorry you were the one I picked. Although I have learned a lot over the past two pages so at least something good came of it.

It makes me warm inside seeing that you actually can explain things on the internet and sometimes it won't be completely lost. Maybe only on TL...
I came across this video a little while ago and had a good laugh since it's actually on TQ:
Then yesterday we saw basically the same thing happen. Someone spotted a Wyvern warping to an FW plex and cloaking. We scrambled to get HICs ready when he decloaks and warps to a station cluster. Obviously he must've warped to a moon right? No, he warped to the station at zero. We can't believe our eyes when he proceeds to eject and dock to change corp. We ghostride HICs in but unfortunately none of the first guys to jump in had Caldari Carrier trained, and the original owner of a ship can always board it even though the ship is locked so we had to kill him instead of stealing it.
At first i thought, no big deal, the guy in his fleet is cloaked next to him so he can board the titan if anyone comes into local. Then i saw he's docked too. Balls of steel :p

Sorry m8, I had you confused with someone else.
And no prob. Shit happens. Initially I was trying to help you out, because you seemed to misunderstand how the economy in eve works, and you really were tricking yourself. Def explained that far more eloquently than I could have lol.
EDIT - Also, there are going to be times where you do need to use buy orders to obtain materials required for LP converting, and you will need to use sell orders to get rid of the finished goods, because in both cases, it can happen where the market simply does not have the depth required to profitably sustain the conversions you are trying to do. In that case, yes, you are still doing the "margin trading" as well, but when you have sufficiently screwed the margins bad enough, it can be very, very worth trading those items. This kindof falls into the manipulation aspect though.

If you don't have extra ISK laying around you're doing something wrong, and I'm a bad because I'm putting mine to work? Are you really so space poor that you can't wait a day to cash out your LP? Margin trading is one of the few ways to make money in EVE that's better than FW.
The reason "the minerals I mine are free" is stupid is because you're reducing your ISK/hour by not counting the hours spent mining. Selling your LP items yourself multiplies your ISK/hour.
Lets say it takes you one hour to make a million LP running FW missions, and you can sell this LP to buy orders for one billion ISK, your ISK/hour is 1 billion ISK an hour. (are you following me, do I need to slow down?) Now lets say you spend two fucking minutes setting up your own sell orders at 10% higher, (you don't even need an alt or trading know how to do this) your ISK/hour is now 1.06 billion per hour. As the volume increases so does the efficiency, and 10% really is the lowest you should go, 15-20% isn't hard at all.
So tell me, how does making higher ISK an hour make me a dumbass?
You're missing the point. That extra 20% isk isn't from increasing the value of the LP, it's from trading. You could make the same extra isk by buying stuff on buy orders that was completely unrelated to LP and selling it on sell orders. You've become a Jita station trader. Now, if Jita station trading is your thing then go for it, in the same way that if mining is your thing then by all means go for it. But don't be the guy who says "I'm a really smart manufacturer because I've worked out a way of getting minerals for free and that makes my manufacturing profits really high", he's just a miner and you're just a station trader and you're both idiots.
Also talk to the hatchery when you have over a trillion laying around.

and here I was, being happy that I made my first billion after a month of playing EVE
Pretty much every, even the poorest hatchery member, has also done that.
nah it's not so much about the time, but more about the amount of money some guys here seem to have ^^
When I started playing, I literally made enough money in the markets where I could afford to buy multiple maelstroms to do level 4 missions in by the time I could physically sit in a maelstrom. Not just multiple maelstroms, but multiple faction fit maelstroms. I'm glad I had people talk me out of putting faction equipment on my first maelstrom (or any maelstrom in general), because I lost it after about 6 missions. That's because I was terrible (and still am).
And it's even easier for new guys to make isk now than it was for me then lol.
