About a thousand for one of the lower seats, I think.

It would bring dramatic changes to lowsec and nullsec and the creation of empires/coalitions within lowsec. Why would everyone want one? The military POS is really only useful as a staging POS for nullsec fleets or for people living in WHs. The mining POS is for people who moon mine, and the Industry and Research POSes are for manufacturing and research respectively. There is really no reason for most people to want any of those POSes, since they are so specific. If you make them more flexible, but still easy to use and configure, then they will be more popular as there will be more uses for them. The Hatchery would have covered the space around Saranen/Oddel with mining POS for the goodfights and the free passive income. Small mining POS would be cheap as fuck because unless you need huge EHP and long reinforce timers for sov tech grinding shit you don't need anything but small. If you think you can hold the space, spam the fuckers.

It would make pos a lot more interesting and flexible, without adding too much complexity because it's still only 4 different mods, and you can easily count them to know what a pos do. EDIT : you can pull the politician one (it's not US specific, I can assure you, French ones are the same :D) only once because your real life name is displayed. But by pulling this one out, you would have the griefers vote for the next CSM ! Sounds like a wonderful plan.

Yes, you certainly could have a POS that does everything, but most POS' are cookie cutter setups that are nightmares to set up. Dumb them down, force people who need that flexibility to own an extra one or two, and get moar gud fights. There is no need to dumb them down though, they can make POSes easier to use and still retain the flexibility.

You have to make it worth having before you get into making it look cool. Unless you deal with the fundamental issues of shitty interface and no real advantage to owning one then pretty jewellery for it will be like swallowing glitter to make your shit sparkle. I agree totally to that. But it doesn't mean you have to do only half the feature, making them be of decent use, but not your own. Could be done in two times, though. Something else I have on my mind : EVE lacks a micro pos for small individual purposes, and especially for "trying it out" and pull people into using the feature. If it's also simplified, it would be great (with my suggestion, it could be a one-module pos, with what you suggested, just a very small specialized one). I'd love to put a micro staging pos when sitting in a wormhole to try it out (maybe with just the space for a pve ship, a scan ship, salvager ship and a mining/gas harvester one). Small poses seem completely overkill for this. Just some ideas on my mind !
