The way I look at this is the end of one thing and into another. The pilots of 9POOL are the future of TL in EVE Online.
Anyone still interested in this game PLEASE get a 14day trial and join the "SCBW" channel!

Wow seems like easy money. Might try it myself for a bit. got 2 accounts but i dont really wanna devert too much training time for exploration. I seem to be finding WH's and such just fine even in my cane. Are the skills that good at making scanning faster ?

You forgot
Overheat the high slots.

One step at a time Jayme. That might be too overly complicated and advanced. Like what happens if the guns burn out before the other ship explodes. Lets not open this can of worms yet Jayme.
Marradon: If you're in high sec, I'm sure you won't need any fancy equipment to find any site. I personally went out and bought a sister's launcher and probes and I felt it was worth it by reducing my scanning time down.
Edit: If you want to do exploration in low sec, I would highly advise you get astrometrics 4, and all the other skills to level 3 at the least, otherwise you'll wonder why you keep getting 80-99% hit on a target but can't get 100%.

Do you have any comment on the duelbox tactics described ? using a rifter to speedtank at 130km. and using that other frig to take them down. Besides being low isk ships so less risk of loosing them is it more easy then just having a frig scanner + BS ship to just straight up do the radar rats and some plexes ?
|
Are you looking at low sec or high sec?
|
On September 17 2010 07:04 pahndah wrote: Are you looking at low sec or high sec?
basicly both. I see the danger of getting a BS in lowsec. But then what about highsec. having a speedtank so you can have a full damage ship doing damage sounds like a fast way to kill things.

On September 17 2010 06:43 Jayme wrote:You forgot Overheat the high slots.
you mean
overheat all the slots

1. fit tracking disruptor 2. load optimum range script 3. set keep at distance to 5k 4. overheat afterburner 5.??? 6.profit
|
1. Fit ecm burst 2. Profit.
Keep it simple.
Marradon: All the radar/grav sites in low sec you can do fine with a 120 dps tank or less usually. A simple hurricane with a 4 slot tank worked fine for me. A BS is probably overkill, but it would make the process faster I suppose. Speed tanking is viable but less efficient IMO, unless you're just planning to go in and kill the loot structure and faction cruiser in the 4/10 GSO, than it rocks. Actually get a drake. I know I am.

BC ( especially the drake) can do up to 5/10 complex just fine.
Gets kinda hairy with a hurricane. IF you're going to dual box just use a remote repair setup on one ship to help.

I'm already in Morsus Mihi but I'll drop by the public chan
|
I don't even need to run my repper at all in radar/mag sites in low sec. Half the time its only like 4 frigs or something on warp in and a few more will trigger once you start hacking/salvaging/analyzing but the biggest time constraint is speed getting between the cans and how fast you unlock them
I would imagine a BS with its slow speed would end up taking longer since it won't matter how fast you kill the rats. (Also I suck at remembering which cans I"ve unlocked)
|
Don't use a BS for low or HS. It's simply too slow to be efficient and in LS will probably die. Use a BC or if you have the skills a hac/t3. You can get away with an AF in some plexes but you're going to have a lot of issues, especially in LS.
edit: It might also be worth considering getting a hacking/archaeology dedicated ship if you're doing particularly hard sites. It reduces the time by an enormous amount, and some sites that would previously be impossible for you to open up because of your skills can then be opened up. From what I've seen someone with hacking/archaelogy at 3 and a rigged ship can do almost any site in the game.

I've played mmo for 5 years and this last year playing eve has been by FAR FAR FAR the best. As many other I got luredinto it with the metagaming thread(I would later come to treat all people from goonswarm as lepers : P). Eve is truly a game of possibilities and while SCBW never was some bigass corp but we did our share of dmg.
shoutouts to: vil(for turning me into a fitting nazi), revo(best fc I know-yes better than mukk), KALDENINES(whatever your name is on tl - getting 290kills while doing a masters in biochemistry is amazing) and ofc dexxus(yeah I know I ripped on you for losing one vaga in hi sec and another to a DD, but I was never gonna turn around and desert you).
I've still got about 3 months of playtime from plexes and I'll be glad to join the hatchery if you guys will have me, who knows maybe revo can even teach me to fc : >
We were (are!) pretty bad ass considering each of us knows his shit better than 90% of the general eve pvp corp member.
The "yes, better than mukk" is one of the sexiest comments to be made, considering I still consider him #1 in terms of learning from him. While his baiting skills and awareness of failsauce during a fight are still way better than mine I consider myself as quicker and more adaptable than him. I still <3 him anyway.
In case someone cares, my personal top list of FCs I've flown with: Soho Torres [D00M.] - Insane decision making skills, great integration of spies and intel, great situational awareness. And still makes flying with him damn fun. Patching hostile fleetcommands into your own coms is awesome for moral. Mukk [ONION] - Even though he hates it, he manages the random blob so damn well. Too bad most of you guys never flew with him in the really small gangs. The gangs where FCs convo each other saying "Fuck it I'm tired of these faggots. Let's invite some people and roam?" .. Great fun there. Progodlegend [101st] - His general fleet management is insane. One of the few, maybe the only one who is as picky as me about setting up the fleet before moving out. Formups might take ages, but it's so damn worth it. Makalu Zarya [HAVOC] - I know no other guy I laughed so much with while flying with him. There might be some fuck ups here and there but the great fun and his comments make sooo up for it. Great guy. <3
Since someone asked me which FCs I respect the most in eve, take these: MadMax_Rus ... One of the main darkside FCs and great guy. I hate fighting them, they're good. Actually, they're the best at what they do. I'm a fanboy. Supertwinkey69 .. Another D00M FC. Pretty bad ass and has some of the most LOL-factor on coms. Youtube his ID for fun. Count MonteCarlo aka El'Tar aka Garmon. One of the few if not the only guy in eve I recommend not engaging even with odds in your favor. You engage him when he's just with 1-2 dudes and you end up fighting faction and high grade pumped ships with commandship support and they obliterate your 10 men fleet. You engage a 10-15 men gang of him with 40 dudes and forget that their fleet is set up just to RAPE someone like you. If you ever want to see 10+ bil in subcaps in a small gang. Follow him. Machariel / Cynabal / Dramiel / Scimitar Gang = rape. Yes, I'm a fanboy, too. Check his videos for great inspiration.
I've never actually fought them but Shamis Orzoz and Shadoo from PL have to be in this list. You guys don't want to know how often I watched the few videos out there of them and Darkside to squeeze out lots of important details. <3
I plan on teaching you guys as much as I can and I'm prolly going to write a complete guide and post it on TL. I plan on it faceraping what's out there on FCing (which is pretty bad btw, you have to gather what you can from other FCs, experience and, yes SC helped a lot, strategic thinking anyone?).

<3~!!! ... Thanks. <3 ... I totally recommend you joining the hatchery as well. From what I've seen they have a similar spirit as we had when we started out. Well, more missiontalk and.. urg... HIGHSEC WARS. Haha. Anyone remember the one and only wardec some random corp did against us? They brought some BSs (shieldtanked hyperion, sup?), died in a fire agains us and buddies and we called it victory and proceeded to rape lowsec.
Hatchery won't live in lowsec anytime soon due to (coughcough) CORP HANGAR. The first thing I learned from dex about leading a corp: CORP HANGARS SUCK.
Don't worry though, I already talked JP into a cool place close to a certain region ALL of you will remember for certain duck hunts and the glorious days before Darkside arrived at the scene. (I feel old now - anyone else? ;S)

^--- this. Considering how and why Liquid Inc. evolved I wouldn't disregard the possibility of a revival or another thing like it. For now, it's rolling with bro's from TL and having fun. Maybe less stuff to shoot at and less organisation, but most likely more fun.
Side note: I plan on selling my JF toon and it's JF after the hatchery moved to it's new HQ and that work is done. Feel free to PM me if anyone is interested in buying any of it. I estimate the JF at around 5 bil and the character around 7-9 bil but I'll ask for a price check on the char trading forums.
18.5 mil SP total. Almost Maxed out JF / Scanning / Transport / Trading character.
Highlights:
Amarr Industrial 5 Transport Ships 4 Jump Freighters 5 All important trading skills at 3+ All Scanning + Covops skills at 4. Jump Drive Calibration 5 Jump Drive Operation 5 Industry / Mass Production / Production Efficiency 5

Wow. After that 2 day foray into EVE, I must thank the bad mannered members of the Hatchery for driving me away from this game. I have better things to do than get addicted to another MMORPG, so it is really for the best.
Edit: Some players were very nice, especially Nou Nene(sp?), I would have sent you all my isk before I uninstalled but it was just a trial account and I couldn't.
