Edit: Add to that the nerfing of every single ship I use, either directly or by buffing things that good against it, and I dont really see why I should continue playing.

Just have your links cloaked like 3k off of gate/station (where the majority of fights happen) and supertanked. Decloak the moment the fight starts and jump through whenever they get low.

definitely the claymore btw, the current 'field' command ships (sleip asstart nighthawk abso) are all staying with the primary racial damage avenue while the others get the secondary.

Don't know. Have flirted with the idea of coming back but not sure I have the same drive I had before to roam for hours etc.

I will however reinstall the client tonight so the option is available.

Have you considered joining RvB? Me and Courage are there atm and it's pretty fun, especially all the events that happen (10000 Rifter FFA, ganked roams, random wars with e uni and so on)

I was, but havent flown one in a very long time.

Lets see what they are doing to the bcs:

Tr3s - tank is made significantly worse (reduced speed, increased sig) and mobility is being made worse (reduced speed)

Tr2s - Im guessing on this but
cane - already shit anyway, but losing a ton of grid and a highslot
harb - losing a mid, have fun shield tanking it, but i guess its still good for RAM ENEMY OVERHEAT EVERYTHING pvp which is very skill intensive (except not really, since you get mwd scram web and no cap booster for your guns
myrm - still sort of decent tbh
drake - rofl, range nerf, damage nerf, probably losing a low or mid slot

Changes arent announced, but since ccp has no idea wtf they are doing (lol ham prophecy will be very good, it will be a lot like the very popular sacrilege), i am very doubtful.


Active tanked battleships? At least now you can use eccm implants, have a sensor link on your linkboat and be fairly resilient vs ecm. But after these changes? Your tank is cut in half, and there arent any counters to damps anyway.

The mega is being indeed made into a flanking battleship, and this is definitly a buff because being something that can very slowly (look, its still slow even if they boost its speed, because odds are you have trimarks and 2 plates on it) get into blaster range and then have a shit tank is something that people want. Oh, but at least you can still run away from soloers, since longpoints cant stop your micro jump drive.

But fuck solo pvp, sov null blob is endgame. Eve is the only game where the "better" you are, the less you need to think about or be good at. "Top" level starcraft has people timing builds to the second and having near perfect mechanics. "Top" level eve has people orbiting anchor, f1 primary while flying a fit they didnt make and dont understand.

i have quite negative feelings about lots of the changes. it kinda baffles me that CCP is changing hurricane for being too versatile. it's not insanely good at anything but you can do lots of good and different fits with the current setup. i personally think other ships should be more like hurricane where you can actually play around with the fits instead of having to use the role that it was designed for.

oh well. most good people i know are done playing the game already and it seems to be continuing that way.

Very much this. And...T1 cruisers sound so awesome that I'm truly excited for those changes to trickle up to T2 cruisers.
I'm struggling to be upset even about things that will negatively impact my own favorite ships, simply because it's going to be a huge barrel of fun to learn/create the new meta.
I'd have thought this crowd above all would have been excited about change, as it will be those of us that put a lot of thought and planning (and sometimes ISK~) into our piloting that will stay ahead of the curve in epic and hilarious ways.

Quite a lot of people like an unchanging (meta)game. I can understand the desire for some stability but I personally like the idea of a changing meta game since that keeps it fresh.

Prophecy: expected to be changed to a drone boat. This is a role revamp that will radically modify its slot and fitting layout. It will most likely have less bandwidth but more drone bay than the Myrmidon.

Ship might be useful somehow? Probably will be like the arbi (missiles) but combat focused.

Harbinger: assuming direct control. Problems on this ship are tied with the shield versus armor tanking issues, which need to be looked at.

Another mid slot....it must be another mid slot….probably taking away a low, but sweet jesus another mid slot, or maybe the stupid utility high can go fuck itself.

Myrmidon: this vessel is mainly fine, but it couldn’t hurt giving it a bit more drone bandwidth and bay to make it more of an improvement when compared to the Vexor.

Megathron: just like the Thorax on the cruiser level, the Megathron role will be changed slightly to make it less resilient, but more mobile so to make proper use of blasters. Think of it as a ship closer to the Typhoon in terms of speed and agility. Next to a Talos, it will be more durable, more flexible, but still cumbersome to have in small gangs.

Nano Megathrons?

Allowing for faster tech2 specialization, and slower multi-racial diversification. In EVE Online, while you as a new player will never catch up with the total amount of skill points a veteran has, you can still be on the same level by specializing. This is precisely what we want to promote here. For instance, currently one needs Amarr Cruiser and Battlecruisers 5 to fly an Absolution, after the change the same pilot will only need Amarr Battlecruisers 5 (on top of the other skill requirements).

Neat

[b]Let us repeat again: if you could fly it before, you will be able to do so after the change. Technically it means if you are able to fly an Oracle by having Amarr Cruisers 3 and Battlecruisers 3, we will remove the Battlecruisers skill from your character and give you Amarr Battlecruisers at 3. If you had Battlecruisers at 3 and Caldari Cruisers 3 instead, you would not receive Amarr Battlecruisers but the Caldari Battlecruisers skill at 3 instead. The same principle work with the Destroyers skill.

IMPORTANT: Train the shit

[b]Command and conquer

When we're finished with tech 1 hulls we are going to start looking into more advanced roles, starting with Command ships. They are seriously lacking at the moment for two reasons: first, regular tier 2 battlecruisers mostly fill the same combat role for less expensive operational costs, and second, tech 3 hulls are just plain better at gang link boosting.

Our goal is to make them appealing to fly as a whole, not something you keep inside a POS forcefield while watching your favorite TV show. For this reason, we want:

Tech 3 ships to be able to carry more gang links at once than Command Ships, but with less effect
Tech 3 ships to be able to carry some gang links while still maintaining some combat capability
Command Ships to carry fewer types of gang links than Tech 3, but with stronger effects (specialization over generalization) - if fitted with gang links, they have less combat capability than Tech3 hulls.
All Command Ships to have a combat role on the field on top of having the possibility to be fit for a pure fleet commanding platform.
What does that mean in practice? We are removing the distinction between “fleet” and “field” Command Ships. All of them will now have 3% bonuses to two Warfare Link fields and be able to fit three warfare link modules simultaneously (instead of 3 for fleet versions only). That also means that the previous fleet Command Ships will be rebalanced to fit combat roles. Want to use an Eos as a truly effective drone ship? You can. Or the Damnation as a sexy Khanid missile platform beast? Be our guest. All that matters is the specialization choices you make before undocking by deciding to fit gang links or not, not something forced to you from the arbitrary "field" versus "fleet" hull.

Tech 3 treatment will focus on making them more generalized. Their Warfare Link bonuses will be reduced from 5% to 2% effectiveness; however they will have bonuses to three racial Warfare Link fields while being able to fit three Warfare Link modules simultaneously.

As a side note, as we announced a while ago, we are not pleased by having Warfare Links work outside the battlefield zone, and will be investigating options to move them on grid. Command and Tech3 ships providing that much of an advantage should commit to an engagement instead of being safely parked inside a POS bubble.

Sort of a buff/nerf to t3 linkboats, as they were destroyed from 5% to 2%, but then have bonus’s for the other racial’s links. Aka the Legion getting 2% bonus to armor, skirmish, and info. Don’t have to have two linkboats doing the same shit anymore. One tengu for siege, skirmish and info, probably 5 or 6 links in total.

Massive buff to command ships, bonus to racial links, and one other type of links (Absolution 3% to armor, and 3% to skirmish).

Mostly a good change, we’ll still bring t3 linkboats along I would hazard, for the command ships we don’t have, and in place of the ones that are terrible. Overall, we’ll be slower, have shorter web and point ranges, infolinks!, more expensive fleets for us, fights will be more “even”, more command ship kills for us.

So, five-card stud, nothing wild... and the sky's the limit

Still, with current mindlinks, devoted link boats will be better.

Also, they've said that the training change isn't coming with the expansion.
