I think EVE is pretty fun as an overall experience but taking it apart into single individual parts might make it look boring. The beauty of EVE is that you can do whatever you want whenever you want. After you get over the overwhelming feeling and realize what EVE is about. Maybe you will find something that you enjoy doing,
EVE is probably the most fun you are going to have in an MMO. Nothing is scripted, you are the one that decides what "Epic" means.
The ONLY gripe people have with EVE is the current state of Nullsec. CCP has to do something to change how the system works, and I believe they will. Hell, they HAVE to. But you can bet your ass they will keep releasing stuff to keep us interested in the meanwhile XD Because on the other hand to be honest, in the PvE side of things CCP has done a great job providing content.
But you can't really blame CCP for the current state of Nullsec. Look at all the other MMO's. They are suffering or have suffered from the same problem of choking in big battles. That's the reason why WoW has changed to smaller groups for their raids despite the game growing in numbers everyday, they took the easy way out. Same complaints just in a different ensnarement.
"OMG We just lost our shot at a World Top 10 Kill on X Boss because our server was dropping everyone" changes to "Goddamit we had that POS if the game wouldn't had dropped us when we got jumped."
CCP is looking for a solution but so far nothing has worked, I bet that if they didn't use the single server approach these problems wouldn't exist but then again EVE would suck if they didn't use it, but CCP know better and is trying to find a solution that doesn't break the game. At this point I think we just need to wait for better hardware to come into the scene and CCP buying it.
But hey you know what, give it a try you never know what you might find. Some people love sitting in an asteroid belt just hauling and mining stuff all day long, while other enjoy sitting in a station for several days babysitting contracts and trading goods. You will even find people that like taking care of the paperwork of running a corp or alliance. The truth is you never know what will hook you in.
If you do, then please contact me in game. JP Bear. Having a short talk with me will make the game much more easier to get into. If nothing looks like fun to you then you can still go ahead and suicide gank KwarK and leave EVE with a bang.
*Now r.Evo, regarding recruitment, Wrath is going to be joining us again soon so he can help out with that and I told you I can help out with any logistics you need men, I do that shit for a living.

Ordered mobo / vid card this morning, will hopefully have a working computer again mondayish.
Also kwark stopped flying expensive ships; suicide ganking him would be much less fun.

On a related note I cleverly exploited the current spike in PLEX costs by doing some daytrading. Picked some up at just under 325, now selling them at just under 329 less than 24 hours later. And paying about 5.5 tax on each one. Go me.

Outa curiosity do you have any idea on why they suddenly just spiked?

they recently became movable between stations like all other items, which means two things:
a) sellers can now move them to more profitable markets easily b) plexes can now leave the market (by exploding), reducing supply
tbh the plex market has been overdue for a hike for a while. It's historically been cheaper to buy plexes with money, sell them for isk, and then buy a character with that isk than it has been to keep an account subbed with rl cash long enough to train equivalent skills. I wouldn't be suprised if they keep going up, based on this metric.

I wouldn't really waste time on EVE anymore tbh. Chribba got sov, world is ending soon.
EDIT: To put in some more content, http://ad0pt.evekb.co.uk/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=1539031 this was pretty nice, happened awhile ago, checked the last 5 pages and didn't see any comments about it. Yay for PLEX!

I'm waiting on the Times article about that poor bastard. It has been so publicized that I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up hitting the mainstream media (the real mainstream media not PC Magazine).
I wonder how something like that affects EVE subscriptions. Some people have to get in on it saying "I gotta see how hardcore this game really is."
But damn loosing $1,100 dollars like that... But I support the argument that after it has become in-game PLEX it is no longer real money because you can't change it back or even know if all of it was bought with real money in the first place.

Actually you can reverse redeem plex..

motbob I'm gonna put a tiny portion of your legacy to work creating a monopoly on rigged drakes. I'm already getting through a lot of them on contracts because I've started spamming the contracts refresh button and drakes are the things I can price most accurately. There are some hilariously mispriced contracts out there too. Anyway, in theory you could monopolise a rigged ship market because the supply trickles in at a loss. If I see at 32 and creating one yourself costs 35 then people will always buy from me. And if anyone else sells at anything lower I simply buy theirs and reprice at 32. Unlike other situations where someone trying to price manipulate like that would get flooded with stock at his artificially high price people would have to make a loss to do that with me.

Wow, pretty impressive Kwark. I did re-sub and it turns out my old corp from like 3-4 months ago, the last time i subbed, never kicked me. So I feel kind of bad leaving, but your corp seems to offer more pvp and newb friendliness, I think?

Seems like a very low margin of return to me considering the fact that the brokerage to make the contract takes away about a million in earnings and the added logistics of it all. I think motbob's legacy was more of him wading through a bunch of contracts and finding the needle in the haystack than actual market manipulation.

Obviously and I'm doing that too in my own way. There are no shortage of people willing to put an 80m drake up for sale on a 40m contract and I'm getting almost every one of those now thanks to spamming refresh. It's simply because I'm getting through so many drakes anyway that I'm allowing the working capital motbob left behind to let me hold a few in stock at any one time.
I'd do it motbobs way if I knew the value of anything not drake related. Unfortunately you need to be able to scan a contract and quickly value it and right now I can only do that with a small part of the market.

o_O people faction fit drakes?
|
I don't think I even want to see what an 80m drake looks like.

worst thing you could do reech, was to give money access to kwark :p

Why are you shelling out 5m/per for not even best named?? I thought you were Mr. Drake? You can't fit t2s?
