The daily and weekly mission objectives in Ilum now require defeating enemy players and/or collecting armaments from the center objective. Players now gain increased Valor from player kills in Ilum. Players now gain increased bonus Valor for kills based on the number of objectives controlled by their faction. Increased bonus Valor is now granted for player kills when defending an objective your faction owns. A notification is now displayed when a player gains Valor. Three new respawn points have been added for each faction. Companions are now restricted from the PvP objective area on Ilum. Notifications are now displayed when enemy players are close to an objective.
Yeah I've been happy with all of the ilum patch updates I'm just a little upset that you can't use companions, it means there is no real PVP that you can have with your companion.
So what is the purpose of gearing up a companion if all you ever use it for is daily quests? (which I don't do, the daily quest rewards are sub-par).

Showing a video of the highest burst damage class killing the squishiest class in the game doesn't really say shit about how a tank fairs in pvp. Also if he's in champ gear he doesnt have 15% pvp damage mitigation. Although there are even operatives commenting on that video saying it doesn't seem right.

Sigh you just don't get it, I never once denied that all the PVE tanking mechanics don't work in PVP. I am denying that tanks are squishy as a result.
Sure, I can't parry/block ALL attacks that are thrown at me but I don't NEED to because my mitigation through expertise, armor and talent mitigation is more than enough to keep me alive in PVP for a ridiculous amount of time. Sure, I'm not invincible but no player ever should be, if I could block/parry EVERY SKILL I literally would not die even without a pocket healer as my medpack would heal more damage than anyone could ever do to me. And you would be surprised how much damage you actually block when a melee starts attacking you because parry/block works fantastically against them, they sure as shit can't kill me.
Your argument is that because a tank cant block non-weapon damage attacks in PVP they are useless, which is stupid and uninformed. And comparing their survivability to that of a sorc is laughable beyond belief.
They work in PVP, quite well.
And I still don't understand how showing a sorc getting buttraped is evidence that PVP will turn into a DPS fest. Also quoting swtor forum QQ threads is pathetic, I could argue anything using posts from there as my "evidence".
Here is some more advice because you obviously think DPS is superior in every way and that this game is horrible -
Option 1: Roll an operative (then cry that you can't 3shot tanks and that bounty hunters are overpowered)
Option 2: Quit because all you do is QQ about things that ARE NOT BROKEN. If you're not happy with things that are fine in their current state then you will be severely disappointed when they don't fix them. Save yourself the pain and just quit now.

you do realize tech attacks (knives), cannot be shielded. its like throwing a single target grenade at someone. So they act just like force attacks. You cannot dodge/parry/shield them, they ARE affected by armor just like spells, and they can be resisted.

People should be defending you, stunning / keeping away those people that are trying to push you off the edge. Certain classes can force jump to friendly / enemy players alike, if you fall off you can get back up. If your not that class theres another that can PULL you back up.
And then if you get knocked off, try not being greedy and passing up to the team :O.

So enjoy questing and leveling couse it is actually good, but dont try to convince anyone that pvp in this game is good. It will be maybe good after 3-6 months of patches and constant work on tons of issues that have been listed in this thread so many times it actually hurts to have to repeat em for x time. If you want competitive and semi balanced pvp go play WoW.

Hey I'm happy to get a buff, I'll concede that Bioware has taken your view on this debate (I have no fucking idea why though, I wreck face and my class takes no skill at all) but I am going to be an unstoppable wrecking machine in PVP now. Honestly I would prefer balance than getting buffed.
I still don't think my class needs a buff, I get top on medals and protection as well as top 3 on damage EVERY warzone. Oh well, I guess Bioware think I need to be unkillable and have more gap closers to go along with my 8k hits (oh, and that is AOE too because being able to instagib 5 players at once is how my class should be balanced).

I'm the opposite, I expect not to be able to faceroll and want the game to be balanced. Instead I get top score every game and usually ~120 commendations and yet my class is getting a buff, what the literal fuck Bioware?
And huttball is exactly like that though... me (not even a tank, just a geared offense specced jugg at the moment) + my inquisitor friend run the ball 6 times and win while everyone else is having their dumbass 1v1 skirmishes. Huttball is literally the dumbest thing ever because nobody seems to concentrate on the objective. I can't wait for pvp stat tracking to be released so I can see my huttball winrate. As a dps spec I have enough survivability that if I have 1 competent healer on me I just don't die yet I'm receiving a survivability buff? My gear isn't even that fucking good (just champ gear, no battlemaster pieces yet) nor is my class hard to play (leap -> dot -> smash = dead player) I just don't understand Bioware's logic.
They must not be balancing around level 50 pvp, I see no other way they can justify buffing my class. Other geared level 50 jedi guardians / sith warriors I've spoken to feel the same way.
Juggs / Marauders are a very endgame gear oriented class yet they're buffing the class due to the complaints of people who are not geared and not level 50. PVP was horrible before I got levelled and geared so that must be their justification for the buffs to Juggernauts.
You guys play "random" PvP or with little groups against people from lvl 10 to 50 in totally random groups and complain about balance? Don't you feel stupid for doing this?

Not sure if troll? You can see who is level 50 and you can inspect their gear. Playing against another level 50 gear with equal or better gear should be a fair tell of balance between classes, no?
Also the groups aren't totally random, given server balance the only time I ever really get to play voidstar or alderaan is when it is against a group of 4 republicans queuing together who are all level 50. 4 out of 8 people
Be level 50 -> fight level 50s who you know have similar or better gear to you -> stomp their face -> get buffed
for the record ive said that defence spec tanks in pvp dont work , they litterally suck cause defences dont work in pvp.

Shields , passives like dodge and parry , neither armor works as it should have
Heres a 6 min video of an operative hitting a immortal spec tank with tanking champion gear
Tank doesnt parry - block - dodge - any attack , in champion sheet it has 40%+ chance to shield and a 22%+ unbuffed chance to defend . yet it never does.
Heres some findings as well

ps i cant honestly do anything but laughing at your claim of 8k crits. Top ive seen by abusing biohem , singularity talent , once every minute on grey , ungeared targets is around 7k. .
Without biohem , singularity on equally geared targets usually is 3-3,5k tops every 12-15 seconds ( spec dependant) which is still bs damage.

Really? WoW hasn't had anything near competitive or balanced pvp in ages. They massively dropped the ball this expansion and continually have seasons completely destroyed by overpowered class/compositions and gear. Saying Old Republic has bad pvp is fine, but suggesting WoW is the game to turn too is a joke.

for instance pvp gear is based on luck. Yea thats right you can be rank 16 and have the second best pvp gear , or lvl 60 with just a part, it solely depends if you lucky enough to have a rnadom drop.
Another lesser is that classes arent exactly equal.
For instance sorc damage is elemental , which totally ignores armor. Sage the identical republic class , has kinetic which armor restrictive. Thus the same nkes do less for republic and lesser equiped , lower rank sorcerer do more damage with the same abilities.

2.) consular animation delays verses their counterpart instant
3.) convert the trooper pool of energy to BH energy BH has 4% more

6.) Turrets in alderaan warzone are facing the republic ship first , so empire always hs the first shot no matter what and many more giving one faction a clear advantage over the other

All i said is that despite wow is a bad pvp game is still better than swtor , in fact ive said that has some solid mechanics , meaning that if an attack is meant to be block it will for starters whereas in swtor it doesnt currently, so i dont see how i can possibly loose any credibility there.
