totally agree. I find that if something is physically possible, it should be allowed, except for obvious exploits/bugs that are usually patched asap.

You can see the creep line pushing up ahead of time though, and the solo push is there for sure, seen enough Morphs/Specters/PotMs do it. That's a dilemma teams have some control over, having some random, out of the blue BD isn't something you plan ahead for and/or can respond properly for.

BD is valid imo why because you can do it it's not like bd when dota first game out with clinx just sniping the tree or w.e it's taking out towers or w.e it's risky for them because that means they don't have people to defend etc.

So guys, I just want a word of clarification here. Why is it bad mannered to kill a tower when no creeps are around?
If your team has no TP/posthaste/ANYTHING to get over there, then oh well you failed, why is it such a big deal?
This is mostly for HoN too, DOTA is beyond me.

cause hon/dota communities are a bunch of whiners and are too lazy to think about the game so instead they ban anything they deem overpowered. i can only imagine what games like gunz would've been if they banned "overpowered" strats without actually taking the time to play with them and figure them out.

Was that BM, or us just abusing the fact that the opposite team was awful, or both? I've only rarely seen backdooring in casual (not serious) pro games that got extremely ridiculous (ie 2 lanes down on each side etc.) however extremely good counters by the backdoored team because they knew it was coming. Most leagues have rules against backdooring on anything but outer towers. Low blow all around, but in pub bnets push mechanics isn't understood at all and nobody carries TPs so they overcomplain. Even if you carry TPs, it's still a waste. It's a catch-22 for the BD-ed team at any level. Say Clinkz (or any other carry hero capable of BD-ing) back doors a tower, the other team carrying TPs have to be make a decision, either defend the backdoor, or counter-push. The latter isn't always an option and defending may take more than 1 hero. The second TPs are shown to the tower, the Clinkz runs away or TPs away or BoTs away, the Clinkz effectively just reset if all 5 TP-ed or (greatly) weakened map presence/control if less than 5 TP-ed. The worst part? You can't cancel your TP and fake a defense, because TPs have CD and more often than not, the BD-ing hero doesn't. If you let the Clinkz take the tower that's free gold for the entire team and a lost of map presence. There are no good benefits for the backdoored team, and any good outcomes are the exceptions rather than the rule. The general rule I have seen in IHLs and HS PUGs is that if the tower is in deny range, it's free game.
i didn't say tps were a be all end all. the point is it that its a pub and anything can work

You're implying the devs understand the games at a deep level, I am sure you can come up with many instances where that clearly isn't the case for either HoN/DotA
