With the amount of games ive already played my skin is pretty thick.

Dealing with bad teammates is no problem. I can do that forever.

Dealing with people that blame everyone but themselves? The amount of arrogance it takes to believe you don't do anything wrong ever is simply staggering when you think about it. Sometimes you just gotta vent.

rofl no. They actualy beleave that they are good, doesnt matter that they feed 0-10, its not their fault, you didnt say miss, even tho you clearly said, you dont ward even tho you play carry, they dont give a fuck, they are that bad.

in defense of people who complain about no miss calls, often when people say "mid was called" ill scroll up and see this:

ss

That tells you literally nothing and is basically a useless waste of keyboard fingering. not only is it easy to miss in the chat just by being little, it also gives you zero information. Which hero is missing, or are they both missing? did they run from the river to go to the rune or did u see them go into the forest? if only one hero which hero is it?

its annoying as fuck when you die mid because you have teammates too bad to bother to inform you, and then blame you for dying mid when they typed "ss"

If your concentrating on killing creeps, denying, focusing on rune control, trying to harrass your mid opponent effectively to force him to use regen or even leave the lane, ferrying courier items, you dont always have the time to realise when 2 dots on the minimap have not been visible for a short while.

I couldn't tell if your comment was sarcastic, if it wasnt then, yeah, map awareness is hard.

Not really hard in pubs, it's actually quite simple, you read the idiots in your lane, if they turn to go on you, you can safely bet someone is coming, if not, you can always either keep running or turn to go on them.

Otherwise, just pay attention to the colored dots, not hard. There's always a small break in the action for you to peak. It's just so much easier to read the opposing heroes in the lane though.

Either way, its about a second to peak at your minimap, not a million years.

also not all heroes can gank effectively so you can direct your attention towards lanes that have effective gankers

you should probably ward if no one else will even if youre carry, it sucks and is not very fulfilling but will probably increase your teams chances of winning in most cases. :/ But then counterwarding ontop of that is too expensive and god help you, reasoning with pub players is something I gave up on a long time ago. (yes I am a pub player, yes my advice is terrible :O)

Also true, but pubbies throw 4 people out there and just run around leaving the one hero they should gank, unganked.

i love it when there are 5 people bottom 3 minutes in and they all dive for 1 hero in the forest below the sentinel tower

this. its really not that difficult to keep an eye on the minimap.

and analogy i like to use is driving and glancing at the rear mirror. I do this fairly often, and am so used to it i do it unconsciously. the trick is to just glance for a second, read what you see quickly and look back to the front and focus on driving. same applies to hon/dota. quick glances at minimap to see what's missing or what's going on.

How do certain teams counter-gank extremely well by tping to towers? they always have an eye on the minimap

usually people get tunnel vision when they are slightly losing their lane or are about to initiate a gank attempt, because in those situations 100% attention to the task at hand is optimal. this is when a miss call can come in handy.
a good rule of thumb when solo queuing tho is to never rely on pub allies for anything.

All that combined is still about half as much of the shit you need to take care of while playing BW and still have constant map awareness.

Now I say this comment assuming you've played BW or I guess... SC2...but the map awareness in HoN is a lot easier to handle. It takes me less than a blink of an eye to glance at the map and see if all the colors are accounted for. Maybe it's just because of BW that I find it a joke to do in comparison. Dunno. I can't count the number of times I am saying GET BACK into the mic as I watch an enemy PASS A WARD to gank someone...and then they do exactly that...

While it is annoying when people just say "SS" and don't give shit for info...what it does do is give you a queue that someone is indeed missing and that it might be prudent to play a little bit more cautiously if not actually look at your map.

Regardless I learned the hard way that in a pub game you can rely on no one but yourself. Luckily the game gives you the tools necessary to do that.
