Heh, I guess this is a more appropriate place than the Third Strike topic to discuss the new video . So I'll just copy over my posts.


About the revenge gauge and "saving system" vs Arcana Heart:

About the graphics and Ono's opinions on parries:

In EDGE magazine, Ono also says that the Parry/Block system was a little defensive, and about waiting, and he hopes that the "saving system" is an offensive option to fights.

So I don't get it, The battles is mostly 2d but you can like side step some attacks or something?

PS the game looked pretty clean- motion/physics wise and the backgrounds are nice. But the model skins and size looked kind of stupid.
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

hmmm, without parries i think the gameplay will be ALOT like super turbo. namely space control will be important, things like the shotos constantly fireballing then dping a jump in will be a normal tactic. At least honda got owned by ryu just like super turbo (impossible to win vrs a good ryu with honda in st). anyways i think that parries actually encouraged more infighting since a constant stream of fireballs lost almost all of it's advantages since you could always parry them with ease in sf3. but now the static screen control game is back and i see alot of non fireball/dp (or similar combination chars) being relegated to the unplayable teir very quickly.

For me, not having parries is a step backward for the Street Fighter series. They could had nerfed parries to a point where they are almost useless, but to take it out is too much.

Judging from the pictures alone, I think SF4 is going in the same direction as SFEX though the artwork is nice.

On SRK they confirmed its 3d polygon models and shit but everything is still on a 2d plane and plays the same. (So basically just new graphic engine for the same game). They also confirmed the 8 original characters and 2 new characters

SUPER <3 FOR BUMP.

Comes out Tuesday for me. Looking forward to it like no other, like sung_moon said, I feel like a crackhead who went without a fix for a week because I can't get for another 2 days =(

Even though I have no stick, and not going to have one soon I add, I'm still going to play until my hands fall off. Yeah, I'm tossing my social life into a black hole for a week starting Tuesday.

Seriously this game is great. I've been playing nothing else since I got it. ZoW get a stick ASAP, this is one of those games that are really hard to play with a pad. Boxer, Gief, plus focus attacks and dash cancels in general are way too hard on pad.
