They're just screwed with regards to difficulty. As stated, their mobile market is huge and can't be ignored. Problem is, Genshin controls like shit on mobile.
I can't comment on how Grey Raven feels, but Genshin's camera is beyond awful on mobile. When auto camera is on, it points in random directions on a whim and constantly clips into the ground. When you have it off, you have to use your right hand to turn the camera, meaning you can't dodge/attack/etc. Switching characters is a crapshoot because the order of the character list keeps changing and doesn't work half the time due to lag. Individually, none of these issues are insurmountable. But they all come together when doing hard content in a way that is very frustrating.
Character progression in the game is similar to FGO. Historically, this kind of model works fine. I think the main difference is that FGO can churn out characters way, way faster. More characters also mean less dupes (pretty relevant since even f2p players are starting to hit c6 on some 4*s). It took a solid year or two to achieve material surplus in FGO, whereas we reached this point in Genshin within a few months. This is very much an issue with their release schedule, and I don't see an easy way out for them.

I know it's my first gacha game and all, but I really don't understand why most of the events are minigames. Even making a domain and pasting Qingxu Pool or Guyun Stone Forest and placing barrier round the edges with some different enemies would be nice, as a lazy way of making an area to explore again would be nice. It is practically effortless compared to making a minigame. They kinda did exploration stuff for part 1 of the meteor event (find all the shards). It was pretty well received because people like running around the world. I don't know why they don't do it more often. I guess they also tried with food delivery.
The great bubble crash speeder race is horrendous for me. I can't seem to get past it without hitting the last set of bubbles right before the end. In the end I have to abuse the sprint to dodge through the bubbles to get the last challenge award or hope luck is with me. I doubt that is how you are meant to do it. I wait in the center of the path a couple steps away. Once the last set of bubbles spawn, I can dodge accordingly. It's the only way I can semi-consistently clear it since the bubbles can just hit you on spawn.

Yeah, I liked the meteor event. A reason to run around the map searching for something. And seeing the other characters around. Some of the hangout events are like that too. I guess they got such awful feedback on the food delivery event they never really tried it again after that.
I never played those type of rhythm games before, but in my case I play on the PC, where I use wasd and ijkl instead of tapping it. So, I have to learn a totally new game and have to coordinate my fingers in what feels like in unnatural ways. At least I am used to wasd. I can see the appeal on a phone but it's just plain horrible for me. I guess muting is the way forward. I've never really seen Genshin Impact as a mobile game even though it must have the majorirty of its user base as mobile.
Btw nice one on getting Venti, Harris. I missed his trial as I started playing at the Klee banner, but he is even more insane than I thought. Near permanent disabling of enemies. And grouping. And energy recharge. And massive elemental burst damage. Just now I have finally gotten 9 stars on floor 12. Each chamber just making it to 7 mins at the last few seconds. And suddenly now I don't have any real reason to improve my characters.

Grey Raven cheats because there's no way in hell you can play it (regardless of whether on mobile or via emulator) without a controller - there are just way too many inputs. It's sort of the difference between a game that wants to appeal to a wider audience (financially that's probably the way to go) vs. a game that came out of the games accepting that it'd only have a niche audience. Oh well.
Aside from the exploration events like meteors I just don't get why their horde-style events are so... lackluster. Well, except for the obvious unwillingless to tether content to combat, I suppose. Like this current event is silly - I don't need buffs to kill some mook bosses. But I guess some folks (esp mobile) do.

At least in FGO character power isn't tied to RNG heh. I can't stand artifact rng, in FGO you level a character and their skills and they are done.

Thanks! I am too lazy to learn the patterns in 11-2 so I've been stuck there and never really tried again until now. Venti is just EZ mode on.
to the minigames: Bit annoying that you have to do the music one 3 times. The other two are easy enough. IJKL is okay for me. Mabye you can also do it with arrow keys? Dunno
peculiar wonderland: I can't do any of the bubble crash games. Nearly cost me a screen and a keyboard when you are basically at the exit and a bubble spawns and somehow has a huge hitbox that is not visually indicated at all... So I do every wonderland boss exactly once. Fuck the bow and fuck the books

Nice to know I wasn't the only one have trouble with the bubble crash minigames. I think the problem with IJKL was that your hands are too close together and it is uncomfortable. Placing my left hand on the arrow keys is far more comfortable. They should had done it that way really.
11-2 took a very long time before I was able to do it consistently. I actually found trying to 3 star complete 11-3 harder than 11-2, though getting 2 stars was far easier for 11-3. The patterns fairly simple once figured out. Only the stone shield hilichurls and the first pyro crossbow hilichurl target the monolith. After the four stone shield hilichurls dies, there is an axe mitachurl that also target the monolith. After that, kill the pyro crossbow one by one. Then the electro crossbow. The electro crossbow after the first do target the monolith but if it is the last one left it doesn't matter.
I found a use for the free event weapon bow, Windblume Ode if anyone is interested. Fischl's elemental skill Oz shooting records and uses only the attack value at the moment of casting. Re-apply the skill with reset it to the current attack value. The Windblume Ode's Passive has been mistranslated. The passive should be "Upon using an Elemental Skill" not "After using an Elemental Skill". So the passive applies when Fischl uses the Nightrider elemental skill and all of Oz's attack has the extra damage bonus. If the elemental burst is used, you can apply the elemental skill straight after for the bonus.
So it is a good alternative to R1 Stringless if you don't have an R1 Stringless. It is about the same as an R2 Stringless. It is worse than an R3 Stringless.

I have a 60% keyboard so no arrows or whatnot. Didn't seem too bad for me but I guess when you've got a keyboard like this you're used to your hands being together like that, hah.

IJKL should be natural since your right hand is just on the home row. Closeness shouldn't be an issue because your hand positioning is one key wider than in typical typing position. IMO it's more that translating directions to keypresses for the right side doesn't feel normal, whereas WASD has literal years of muscle memory.
I'm done with the event. I enjoyed Venti's quest, but the others were kinda meh. Peculiar Wonderland would've been better without the challenges. I did them all and it really wasn't worth it. Of all the minigames, archery was probably the best, and even that was pretty mediocre.

New artifact leaks
The Last Act of Foolishness / Pale Flame 2pc: Physical DMG is increased by 25%. 4pc: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, ATK is increased by 6% for 7s. This effect stacks up to 3 times and can be triggered once every 0.3s. Once 3 stacks are reached, the 2-set effect is increased by 100%.
Tenacity of the Millelith 2pc: HP increased by 20% 4pc: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20%. Their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. Effect can stack.
Ofc all is subject to change, specially the stats

Seem interesting. Also seems like an unnecessary Zhongers buff again lol.
|
Tenacity of the Millelith 4pc effect in particular if it affects all party members seems to be amazing for every support that have multiple attacks for their elemental skill. Fischl, Xiangling, Albedo in particular. Makes Noblesse Oblige seem rather useless in comparison.
Today I found out that if you shoot trees with arrows, their fruit falls down.
By the way for future housing + Show Spoiler +https://genshin.honeyhunterworld.com/db/item/furniture-materials-list/ for some of the materials needed for possible future furniture crafting, In case you want to pre farm some of those items or stopped collecting them. there are other materials in the homeworld but they are unable to be pre-farmed or you are likely to be mining them anyways.

They both seems too strong. I guess they will be tuned down for release.
Question is, what do I pull for next? Rosaria? Eula? Zhongers? Kinda want them all but don't need anyone. Hu Tao + XQ will clear any content for the next 2 years. Most OP comp I have tried so far
|
Does your Hutao + XQ clear Abyss? You need two teams and they cannot be in 2 teams at once. Unless you meant Hu Tao on one and Xinqui on the other. But I doubt Xinqiu alone, the amazing support character it is, is enough unless it has godlike artifacts. Props to Mihoyo for producing a gatcha game that doesn't pressure you to paying for power. Though if recent trends are any indication, artifacts and banner weapons are the real power creep. Though I guess artifacts are free and can't really be brought.
I think I called out Tenacity of the Millelith 4pc being amazing a bit too early since I haven't actually ran any numbers. Still, it is the first HP artifact set. I was just thinking that it could be useful for Baron Bunny Amber. Pale Flame seems built for Eula, but also physical dps Xiangling and Fischl (again). Though, Chongyun, Eula with 4-Piece Blizzard Strayer should be better, depending on how exactly shatter and frozen interacts. I'll be reaching double pity again by the time Childe's banner ends + 3 week banner length, so I am fairly tempted for Zhongli and Eula if they are to be the 1.5 banner characters. Zhongli because Zhongli will always be an auto include for any team as long as shields are useful which is probably forever. Eula because the name is funny.

The Millelith wording makes me think it won't be as good, "nearby party members" Makes me think its a support set for coop lool. Who knows with how TL have gone with this game though.

Even "hits an opponent" could mean a lot of things. Just look at how many exceptions sac sword/bow/etc has.

They clear one side pretty quickly ^^
Abyss is just not for me anyway. Even with Venti I'm just not having fun doing Abyss. Maybe the new event Arena that starts tomorrow (I think?) is more for me

11-2 is just such a killjoy -.-
|
My issue with 11-2 is that maintaining consistency is so difficult. Your team comp is important, but you have to execute your strategy almost flawlessly in order to 3-star it. I just got Venti on the banner's first night so I might be able to faceroll slightly better now.
Overall having a lot more success in the Abyss recently in part thanks to the helpful people in this thread, so thank you all ^^
|
If you can clear one side, you have much more time to clear the other side. And if i recall you have several good support characters that make having a good main dps less important. I guess you don't count Abyss to be content to be cleared, but then the overworld doesn't require much power to be cleared in the first place. I doubt the overworld and events will ever require such a high amount of power.
I've been able to clear 11-2 with all sort of different compositions ever since I was trying to figure out a way to 3 star clear it. Anemo Traveler, Geo Traveller, freeze and overloaded compositions. That's just for the first chamber though. the second chamber is simpler but helped a lot by raw DPS. Though freeze and knockback effects help again. 60% does give a lot of leeway once you know how to approach the chambers.

New event might be my thing. No stupid minigames, no stupid monolith, just good old face smashing.
Today was pretty easy but if the description Indicates anything, it ll get harder
