I've watched some streams of it. Looks like a more refined Outriders honestly. 4 player co-op extraction game. Could be fun if ya got friends to play with or don't mind playing with random players.
Helldivers 2 looks a lot more like Destiny 2 than Outrides IMO. It's definitely a game that I don't need on release but rather play when the first sale drops on Steam on PC. There is nothing new or "wow" that I need to play right away
I like how entire planets can become sieged and its up to the entire player base to help liberate it within a certain period of time. Along with other goals. Makes me wonder if in the future we could see a potential raid type of scenario with hundreds of players put in a match to destroy a bug nest or a machine factory etc. That would be amazing.
Your squad of course would consist of a dozen or so players, but you would all be matched up on the same planet working towards the same goal.
But in the short term in Armor, and Weapon mods as well as jumping need to be introduced. But that's just me.

That idea just reminds me of MAG from PS3 era. I miss that game. If there's a game that could potentially be fun and bring that level back, Helldivers would be a good idea to give it a try.
Supposedly they decided to acquire Bungie over these guys.... real nice.
Well tbf to Sony, Bungie is known commodity. You're gonna get that ROI faster with them (whenever they release their post Destiny shit). This studio could get gobbled but if I was them, I'd hang on to that indie and see how high they can push the valuation.
Got Banishers downloaded and waiting. Probably give it a good 3 hours tomorrow and see how it goes. I'll report back here afterwards.
Sidenote: Started HFW in earnest. Looks vastly better and plays more fluidly. I'm enjoying it.
E: Banishers is pretty cool. It's a unique dynamic jumping between living and dead and it feels intuitive to use. I think I'll enjoy this game for the time being. See if I can get through it before I had back to work next week.
Damn these Devs are MVP. Again one has to sense the urgency in Sony devising a plan to acquire this studio seeing how doesn't seem to be any plan to bring back SOCOM, or the Killzone series back.
I'm in the Northeast of NA and i've had to wait 15 minutes at most to get into the game. "quick play" is borked. the planets all say there 0 helldivers on them. the game is fun and runs smoothly on high settings at 1080p on my 4 year old $1400 gaming PC.
This game is great, silly, stupid, fun. Everyone on my Steam friends list is playing this thing.

if you make a game for nobody then its a game everybody plays . somebody told me that.
It doesn't need PvP. I don't get why every game needs to have PvP. It's a hassle to balance PvE / PvP both and if it's not build around PvP most often the PvP mode is shit anyway
Bought it yesterday, can't wait to get home and start playing.
The Automatons are attacking humanity's most critical server infrastructure! This is where Managed Democracy Dies! Helldivers player population went from 310,000 to 240,000 in 1 hour..... ahhhhhh! ! !
I think the Devs or the game automatically decides a certain planet will fall to the Automatons and they just make every one lose their missions. LOL. A planet went from 10% liberated down to 5% liberated and during that time my team got absolutely stomped on 4 missions. It was raining robots. LOLOL.

Started my first mission yesterday on probably the easiest diffculty. But that means nothing if there are constantly dropping 100s of robots around you. No idea what the actual objective was, how to extract or what was happening in general. Not the greatest start. I could bare call down one stratagem in between running

dude.... getting stomped and not knowing WTF is going on... is half the fun. I do not think the game scales with the # of players. Trivial, Easy, and Medium bring in the same # of enemies.. and the same intelligence of enemies no matter how many players are in the game.
