Hardware: If a console is fresh and new there is probably no better buck for hardware. 2-3 years in, most middle class PCs have better hardware/ buck since consoles are extremely price stable but hardware components are not and are easily outdated.

Software: It's all about the use. If it's for purely easy entertainment purposes, PC will probably never be better than console. Plug and play. No driver updates, no windows updates, no errors. If you want more than said easy entertainment, PC is the way to go. Mod your games, make videos, make music, do some office stuff.

So it's a bit of both IMO

That State of Play was fucking pathetic. I want a refund on my time and PS5. If it wasn't for Elden Ring and an insane backlog of games, I'd be furious.

Sony needs to wake up and stop sleeping at the wheel. This is not how to generate hype for the PS5 or the PS5 Pro (if it comes). They're gonna have to raise prices on PS+ again and if they do, I'm ghost.

Anyone doing an Elden Ring playthrough? I'm just dicking around on NG+ getting spells and stuff I missed. Literally just roaming the map and hitting graces along the way. I'll probably snuff out Morgott and Radahn soon just to be done with it.

The new Elden Ring DLC is amazing. I'm getting my ass stomped by one boss that reminds me of Malenia. Might have to come back to her because damn...just too much lol.

I finished the DLC rather quickly, on PC though.
My Brass Shield + Bloodhound Fang build got me to the final boss comfortably. I didn't agree with the difficulty complaints until that point, but the final boss is ROUGH.
Even with +20 blessing and a mimic tear I couldn't kill him with the above build, changed weapons in the end and found a build that makes it easy. + Show Spoiler +

bloody lance and heavy fingerprint shield, plenty of youtube vids on it

Beat all Rememberance bosses now. A bit short for 40 euros if I'm honest. High quality DLC obviously, but for that price point it could've been some hours longer.

Did you explore the world or just rush to the bosses? I'm not playing as much as I'd like because of other committments (and fucking work) but I've still only gotten through about 2-3 of the big bosses.

I'm trying to spend more time on it later this week before I try to get into Dawntrail (PC) and play the new Viper and Pictomancer.

I'm rocking a faith/strength build, so I have Black Steel Greathammer and Rellana's twin blades. Shit is pretty easy with this setup.

I didn't explore as much as in the base game, because I found that fully exploring made my character too strong and trivialised some story bosses.

However, when I got the 2nd cross map after Castle Ensis, I went to look for the southern cross and ended up on a bit of a detour that saw me get all the way to the jagged peak boss. He was too strong at the time, so I continued with the main story from that point onwards.

Played First Descendant for the week. It's aight. Needs some balancing, especially drop rates. Other than that, it's not worth the hardcore grind they expect people to go after. As soon as NCAA 24 is released I'm going dark mode lol. Only other game I'll get is Black Myth. Don't think there's anything else worth waiting for.

Black Myth next week. I tried the PC benchmark and sheesh. Either they capped the frames or there's something wrong with my OP set up. I'll wait for reviews for PS5 and PC before pulling the trigger on Black Myth.

EA College Football is legit fun. I don't spend a lot of time playing it because I'm just too exhausted after work. But I made it to a bowl game my first Dynasty. Gonna run a few more Dynasties and see if I can't make the playoff in 5 years.

Very few games, graphics aren't significantly improved, outrageously expensive, and it's even missing the disc drive and the console stand... so the only reasons I could think of to buy the PS5 Pro would be:
1. If you have too much money and want to donate some to Sony as charity;
2. If you're in the market for a new paperweight.
